C# Program to Overload Binary Plus ʺ+ʺ Operator

This is a C# Program for overloading of binary operator ʺ+ʺ.

Problem Description

This C# Program demonstrates the Overloading of Binary Operator ʺ+ʺ.

Problem Solution

Here with the operator keyword, public static operator method is used by the compiler when the designated operator is encountered.

Program/Source Code

Here is the source code of the C# Program for Overloading of Binary Operator ʺ+ʺ. The C# program is successfully compiled and executed with Microsoft Visual Studio. The program output is also shown below.

/*
 * C# Program for Overloading of Binary Operator ʺ+ʺ
 */
using System;
class overloadpgm
{
    public int value;
    public static overloadpgm operator +(overloadpgm a, overloadpgm b)
    {
        overloadpgm overloadpg = new overloadpgm();
        overloadpg.value = a.value + b.value;
        return overloadpg;
    }
    public static overloadpgm operator ++(overloadpgm c)
    {
        c.value++;
        return c;
    }
}
class Program
{
    static void Main()
    {
        overloadpgm d = new overloadpgm();
        d++;
        Console.WriteLine(d.value);
        d++;
        Console.WriteLine(d.value);
        overloadpgm g = new overloadpgm();
        g++;
        Console.WriteLine(g.value);
        overloadpgm t = d + g;
        Console.WriteLine(t.value);
        Console.ReadLine();
    }
}
Program Explanation

This C# program is used for overloading of binary operator “+”. Create an object variable ‘d’ for overloading class. Here, with the operator keyword, public static operator method is used by the compiler when the designated operator is encountered.

Using ‘value’ variable, compute the summation of the value of ‘a’ and ‘b’ variables. And again using the operator methods, overload the addition operator. Increment the value of ‘value’ variable.
