The following campus units share the responsibility for the care and welfare of animals used in research and teaching:
Office of Animal Research Compliance (OARC) and IACUC
Illinois Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) provides oversight and ensures compliance by inspecting animal care research facilities, recommending improvements, reviewing complaints, and more.
OARC supports IACUC related activities - helping write protocols, training records validation, questions about the online IACUC system, and more.
