Logged more activity with Dead Beat 10 conducting a line check. Station identified as Dead Beat with Bravo Company, 1st Recon, which should be based out of Camp Pendleton, California.

English-speaking satcom pirates were active on 258.650 MHz earlier. One operator had a Southern U.S. accent and had an end-of-transmission tone after keying up, and they also discussed using a Trivec antenna. Definitely freebanders and not legit U.S. mil stations. I’d also watch for them on 256.850, as they mentioned that frequency as well.

265.250 Bull 10

Caught a very noisy signal from “Bull 10” for a comm check on 265.250.

Given the noisy signal, I decided to experiment with GTCRN Speech Enhancement and the result was pretty good 😉 Here is the enhanced audio to see the difference – it was pretty impressive!
