Following Jesus.
Forming Disciples.
For the Sake of the World.

We come together around God’s Word and Christ’s presence,
then go into the world to make disciples, love our neighbors, and live out the Gospel.

Bishop Paull Spring addressing a large assembly at the Constituting Convocation of the North American Lutheran Church in 2010, held in Columbus, Ohio.

Our
Story

The North American Lutheran Church was formed in 2010 by Christians seeking to remain deeply rooted in the truth of the Bible and the mission of Jesus Christ. We hold to the historic teachings of the Church, guided by the Lutheran Confessions, and shaped by four core values: we are a Christ-Centered, Mission-Driven, Traditionally Grounded, and Congregationally Focused community of believers committed to making disciples and living out the Gospel together.

Our Work

Our
Work

We believe Jesus sends His Church into the world—to homes, neighborhoods, and nations—with good news that changes lives. As a disciple-making church, the NALC walks with congregations as they grow in faith, discover their purpose, and serve the needs of their communities in Jesus’ name. We equip people to follow Jesus in daily life and support ministries that bring hope and healing where it’s needed most.
Our Congregations

Our
Congregations

Across North America, our churches—whether in small towns or large cities—are communities where people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and care for one another. Grounded in the Bible and shaped by worship, we gather around God’s Word and the Lord’s Supper, walk together in everyday discipleship, and reach out with Christ’s love to a world in need. We are everyday people, learning to live as Jesus taught us—in faith, hope, and love.

What's Happening

Here’s the latest around the NALC:

Advent & Christmas Devotional

This year’s devotional—The Unshaken Light—traces the movement of grace from Advent to Epiphany: from waiting in hope, to rejoicing in God with us, to bearing His Light into the world. It begins in the shadows of a trembling world and leads us to the radiance of Christ’s coming—first in the manger and again in glory. Through Scripture and reflection, we are invited to behold the steadfast promise that the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

A New Vision for a Disciple-Making Church

At the 2025 Mission Convocation in Pittsburgh, the North American Lutheran Church unveiled a renewed vision for our shared life together: to be a disciple-making church. This vision comes to life as congregations are renewed in faith, disciples are equipped to follow Jesus with confidence, and communities are transformed by the power of the Gospel. From local ministries and global partnerships to life-to-life discipleship in homes, schools, and workplaces, we are answering Christ’s call to love God, love our neighbors, and make disciples of all nations.

Clergy Retreat 2026

The Clergy Retreat is a yearly gathering designed for pastors, deacons, seminarians, and those serving in ministry within the North American Lutheran Church. It provides a dedicated time away from daily responsibilities to rest, worship, and be renewed in the company of fellow servants of the Gospel.

Constitutional Ratifications

Every NALC congregation is asked to review, meet, and submit their vote on the constitutional amendments approved at the 2025 Mission Convocation. For all details and resources regarding these amendments, click the button below.

Devoted to Prayer: Daily Prayer and Reading Calendar

We have released our next two-year daily prayer and reading calendar, Devoted to Prayer. This guide is to provide the average layperson and pastor with the simple tools for sorting through the busyness of their lives and reclaiming an act of daily discipleship with their Lord. The daily readings follow the Lutheran Book of Worship two-year daily lectionary, which reflect the church calendar closely.
