*Zzz* Zucchini
Sweet, everlasting dreams, my dearest Zucchini..

Zucchini

So much has happened in the past one month that I really cannot believe how much everything has changed.

Okay, so some things are still the same - I still have trouble sleeping.

...

I've been a dreadful friend the past few weeks - I have not been answering mails and other messages.

In summary, Rz was sent to the Emergency at TTSH on 29 September with serious internal bleeding from a main artery. Needless to say, I spent a few scary days rushing to and from the hospital.

He was subsequently discharged and spent his medical leave recovering at my place, because we were concerned that his well-worn foam mattress would not provide him enough support. Lumbar support is a serious matter if you measure over 1.9m and weigh 90 kilos.

Thankfully he recovered rather speedily and was able to move around slowly quite soon after being discharged. By the end of the second week, he was almost back to normal :) He has since gone home and yesterday marked his first day of work.

As for me, I think I need a break. For three crazy weeks the daily routine about my house went something like this:

0650hrs - Rx gets up (drags self out of bed, more like), and tries to eat something
0700hrs - Rx rushes off to shower and change and do all the girly grooming things
0800hrs - Rx has a morning chat with Rz
0815hrs - Rx grabs her stuff and runs for it
0830hrs - Hopefully Rx catches the bus >___>
0850hrs-1845hrs - Rx rushes about at work and hardly ever leaves work on time ~___~
Rz wakes up at his leisure and re-heats fish porridge and other yummy side dishes in the microwave
1845/1900hrs - Rx tries to get the bus home, fighting her way through the crazy hordes of people >_<
1930hrs - Rx rushes off to cook dinner and Rz's following day's lunch; packs the lunch
Eat dinner, Rx washes the dishes
2030hrs - Rx tries to get some laundry/housework done and gets herself showered
2130hrs - Rx is ready to collaspe, tries to relax/engage in logical conversation with Rz ~___~
2230hrs - Rx rushes to get ready for bed

And now, I find myself once again a hapless flu victim. I am sure there's a bug going around at work and naturally I had to catch it >___>

Work is okay I guess. Insanely simple and straightforward as compared to the hellish workload I'd experienced at my previous firm, though I have to say it does compare in volume. Dad and Rz aren't happy though and they want me to go back to the job-hunt so I've decided to wait a little while and see how things go - plus I need time to recover from the fatigue I am constantly feeling.

...

Zucchini passed away some time last night.

The circumstance of her death is very, very weird. I'd gone to bed at 845pm because my head was spinning and my body simply refused to sit or stand anymore, and the last I saw her, she had happily wedged herself between the tank wall and the tunnel to her loft, showing her underbelly to the world.

(I'd moved Zucchini because I noticed she was pregnant. She had given birth to a litter that did not survive sometime in the last two weeks and she been again moved, this time to a small penthouse. I decided to continue to keep her isolated for the time-being because Souffle kept attacking her and I noticed some scuffle marks on her belly.)

Just now when I woke up because I was too hungry, I noticed she was stone cold in the very same position as I last saw her :c

It was as though she'd wedged herself there and decided to stop breathing :c My poor, pretty Zucchini baby :c Though initially I never intended to keep her, she grew on us and we loved her dearly, our darling panda ham :c

Sigh. This is the second ham to pass away this month (Tako died of old age on 3 October) and the sixth ham this year! :c

I really think my ham-keeping days are numbered, with every loss a pin in my poor heart :c

A pictorial ham-tribute now to Mirugai, Tako and Zucchini :c As always, click to view larger.

Where the BUTT is.......!! Mocha and Enoki's 3rd Litter Day #10

10 days, 10 years, 10 kilos, 10 seconds entry

.. What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honour.

You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet ..

Psalm 8:4–6

I am amazed that somehow Rz and I made it past the last 10 days. I feel like I've aged 10 years and lost 10 kilos.

A 10 seconds entry brought to you direct from my aging office computer. (Perhaps I should have saved this for tomorrow the 10 of October, in sticking with the theme >__>")
