Camping at Eisenhower State Park

For spring break we decided to go camping. I told Dale it would probably be the last time until after Noodle arrives. We went down to Eisenhower State Park and it was so nice to get away. On Wednesday we drove down and set up camp and walked down to the pier. The boys loved throwing rocks into the water.

On Thursday Dale had an eye appointment at the Walmart in Denison (it's cheaper in TX than in OK!), we went to Dwight D Eisenhower's birthplace and walked around, we hiked on a 4-wheeler trail which was very rocky, Dale and the boys attempted to fish, and we ate hot dogs and smores.

On Friday Kimball got a stomach bug. so he spent the day resting. Dale & Cameron went "fishing", then we packed up and turned in the boys' junior ranger pamphlets. They were very proud of the badges they earned! Then we drove home and I was very eager to sleep in my own bed that night.

Overall, it wasn't too bad. I had fretted about taking Duke with us but he only barked a little bit at night and seemed to enjoy the great outdoors. For me the hard ground was the worst and I didn't sleep well, though I made it both nights without a bathroom trip (too cold to be worth it!). It was fun seeing the boys go from saying "what do we do?" on the first day to calling our tent "home" and praying that we can go camping again soon. What a beautiful world our Heavenly Father made for us!

February 2014

Each month our boys look forward to the Home Depot Kids Workshops. I love them because they're free and the boys get to make/keep a fun little craft. In Feb they made race cars and we perused the aisles afterwards.

We got even more snow! I am definitely ready for spring...we went out and played in the snow for a bit, but then later that day the boys both had fevers.

Cameron lost his first tooth! I am a bit heart-broken that he lost it so early, but he is so proud of that missing tooth.

I had to go up to OKC for a drs appointment so I went to the temple while up there.

Oklahoma is always windy which means it's always a kite-flying day. We finally took the kites the boys got for Christmas and I was shocked how well they flew.

Kimball was the Star Student at his school! He was so excited and made sure to invite us all to his assembly.

Kimball has discovered the joys of texting and often begs to borrow my phone so he can send a text to Grandma. He always makes sure to include a picture. I can't believe how adept my children are at using my phone...Kimball recently taught me a cool feature of my phone that I had no idea existed.

We also found out that we are having a baby girl! That night we went to the local park to enjoy the last of the warmth before another crazy winter storm hit us on March 1st.

And that's February in a wrap :)

It's A GIRL!

Yesterday was our ultrasound. I wanted to take the boys with us to find out as a family, so I picked them up from school and met Dale at the doctor's. Practically as soon as the ultrasound tech turned the monitor on, she said "Looks like a girl" and the boys immediately said "Yay!" It seems so surreal that we're finally getting a girl. After the ultrasound we went straight to WalMart and bought our little girl her first dress.

All four of us have hoped for a girl and I have had feelings that this little one was a girl but was too scared to get my hopes up. Kimball declared it has to be a girl a while ago because I am so outnumbered in our family, and for weeks Cameron has been stating "I just know it's a girl mom."

21 weeks pregnant with our little girl!
Pregnancy has made my dreams extremely vivid, and the night before the ultrasound I had a nightmare that when we went to it, the tech took so long telling us the gender that I fell asleep. In this dream I was too embarrassed to tell Dale that I fell asleep and was waiting for him to tell the boys but he just never brought up what the baby's gender was. When I finally did wake up I was so disoriented and upset that I had missed it. Dale just laughed when I told him about my dream.

Basically we are over the moon excited and can't wait to meet this little girl! We still call her Noodle and I love hearing the boys talk about all of their plans for Noodle. We don't have a name yet and honestly haven't discussed it much, but the discussions are starting so we'll see where they lead :).
