Albuquerque before Christmas

It was announced that BYU was playing in the New Mexico bowl game against SMU the week before Christmas. As soon as we found out, we started making plans to drive there, spend some time with my family, and enjoy the game.

November 2022

Every one of our kids went through a stage where their Oklahoman upbringing comes out and they suddenly have a very thick Okie accent. Becca suddenly sounded like a true Okie for most of this month. She loved adding that little twang to words like “heck” saying it as “hay-k” or “cayndy”. Her favorite color was temporarily red.

Lily told me “it gives you the warm cozy cottage feeling.”

Kimball got his first job at Chick-fil-A. He also had his first girlfriend. Becca was adamant that they shouldn’t kiss, because she didn’t want Kimball getting married. He finished driver’s ed and got his learner’s permit, which meant he started driving! He also started playing tuba, which meant he brought home a tuba to practice.

Dale turned 39! We celebrated with a lemon raspberry cake, and none of the kids wanted any, so Dale and I had to eat it all ourselves.

The Ferrells came all the way from South Carolina to visit for Thanksgiving break.

On Thanksgiving morning, Dale and Kimball went to play football with members in our ward. While they were there, Dale hit his pinky trying to get Kimball’s flag and returned home with a very purple pinky.

Our Thanksgiving feast was at the church with many of our friends (including the Ferrells). We had lots of good food, games, and visiting. The only sad part about doing a big feast is that there’s fewer Thanksgiving leftovers. Dale smoked our turkey and it was phenomenal!

While the Ferrells were here, we played, the kids played, and the dogs were crazy. Kimball talked us into letting him adopt Quincy, a dog the Ferrells had rescued and brought with them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

October 2022

Of course, Halloween was all the kids talked about for the entire month of October. As always, costume requests were changed constantly but they all finally settled on their costumes.

After celebrating our anniversary on June 30, the next morning I loaded up with the kids and drove to Albuquerque. While we were there we celebrated Lily’s 8th birthday and Judy’s birthday.

Kimball got to go to England with Grandma and Grandpa and had countless adventures there.

On the 27th, we drove home and it felt good to all be together again (Dale stayed in OK to hold down the fort and keep Shadow company).

With news that the Ferrells were moving, we made a trip down to TX to spend the weekend with them. We played games, watched movies, went to the park and had fun with glow sticks.

What a crazy month!

Lily Turns 8!

We celebrated a little differently for Lily's birthday since we were in Albuquerque for it. Dale sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers the day before her birthday.

Albuquerque

Grandma and Grandpa Bundy have always dreamt of taking grandkids on trips, and this past summer it was finally Kimball's turn. They were supposed to go in 2021, but Covid made travelling unpredictable so they postponed it a year. In order for them to go, I got to take all of the kids to Albuquerque where we hung out with my brother Robert while they were gone. Dale had to stay home and work, so he and Shadow kept each other company.

June 2022

June was full of adventures for our family.

Cameron went to Boy Scout camp (June 5-10) with his troop and another local troop. He finished a few merit badges but wasn’t a fan of swimming in the cold lake. He designed an amazing Lego dragon head.

May 2022

We survived another year of school! The boys were super excited to be done. Lily was sad to say goodbye to her teacher, but is excited for the playground for 3rd graders. Becca can’t wait to start kindergarten and every time we drive by her old school she’s sure to mention that she no longer goes there.

Mother’s Day was wonderful and Dale and the kids all worked hard to make it special for me!

April 2022

April started out with General Conference. We did our Conference Store again and the kids did some amazing drawings of the speakers while we watched.

Kimball turns 15!

Somehow we have now been parents for over 15 years! It's hard to believe that our boy is way taller than me, and continues to grow in every way.

March 2022

Between spring break and my parents coming to visit, we were pretty busy in March…never mind all the normal stuff we have day to day.

Cameron turns 13!

We now have two teenagers in the house! Cameron is super excited to now be allowed to watch PG-13 movies with us and has started by watching the Transformers movies. His school play The Wizard of Oz premiered on his birthday which made it a bit more chaotic, but it was still fun to celebrate our boy.

February 2022

Hello Dolly finally hit the stage after a month of practices every week night for Judy, and Dale holding down the fort at home. We had many friends come see it, and I loved having the kids come watch me do something besides being Mom!

Becca turns 5!

5 is now Becca's favorite number! She was so excited to be 5 and spent her whole birthday asking if we could just open presents even though no one else was home. She loves unicorns, purple, pink, and dressing up! So that's what her birthday focused on...

January 2022

There was a joke going around that this year will just be "2020-too" with reference to the foreboding many feel after 2020 and all of the Covid chaos. There's been plenty of chaos so far, but hopefully 2022 will only get better!

We started the year by driving home from Colorado

School resumed on the 4th. Schools closed again on the 13th because the Omicron variant of Covid had spread so quickly and so many students/teachers were gone. Church went back to 1 hour for a few weeks as well.

December 2021

We started off December with the kids getting their advent calendars from Great Aunt Ganie.

The misadventures of Prickles the Hedgehog

It was the evening of December 5, 2021. Our family went to church to watch the First Presidency Christmas devotional. After the devotional ended, we headed home and started getting ready for bed.

Before long, I heard Shadow barking out back. It wasn’t his usual bark so I opened the door to call him in, but I heard what sounded like a cat being attacked.

Christmas in Colorado, 2021

For the first time since Christmas 2018, all of the Bundy siblings were together once again! My parents rented two condos in Pagosa Springs.

November 2021

In November, we said goodbye to our foster pup Chip sooner than expected...he was one of the most loved foster pups we've had so it was a bit heart-breaking.
