Today was Roxy's "2nd" birthday. The kids wanted to throw her a party, make her a cake and have her blow out candles but I thought buying her dog food and a new box of treats was sufficient. I even let her come inside for a little bit since it was snowing...until I caught Tyler letting her sit on the couch!!!! Even though she is a big pain in the butt, we all (even Chris) love her. Happy Birthday Roxy!

Day 118

I even let her come inside for a little bit since it was snowing...until I caught Tyler letting her sit on the couch!!!! Even though she is a big pain in the butt, we all (even Chris) love her. Day 117
Brooklynn had a soccer game today. These little "Tangerine Tigers" killed us but that's ok. They still had fun. Brooklynn only scored one goal, and it was for the other team! The season is almost finished, just two more games. Brooklynn has done really well for her first year of soccer. She loves playing and gets right in there.
Day 116
Today we spent the afternoon at Tyler's district track meet. He got first in 7th grade boys! We are really proud of him because he only picked this up half-way through the season. Their school did really good and I think won overall, best school.
Day 115
Hmmm, someone didn't get the memo on which direction to face tonight. I can't believe all 7 of them fit on one roost.
Day 114
Today we woke up to rain/snow...it changed hourly. I told Tyler to put Roxy's food in her doghouse so that she didn't have to stand out in the rain to eat. Not the brightest dog, she stood "outside" and put her head in to eat. Silly dog. (It's a little blurry and small...I had to zoom from the comfort and warmth of the kitchen window.)

Day 113
Today (yesterday really) didn't quite turn how we expected. After we returned home from church we recieved a phone call that Chris' dad was in the hospital and had suffered a heart attack. We drove up as soon as we could to be with him in the hospital in Ogden. Turns out it wasn't a heart attack after all but something that mimics one. All the signs are the same. He was very blessed to be at church when it happened and be sitting next to the Sheriff, a deputy and the head of nursing at the local hospital. The sheriff and deputy, who were both EMT's, performed CPR and took excellent care of him. Poor Jason, Chris' brother, who is a 911 operator was the one who took the 911 call when it came in. After being thoroughly checked out and kept for observation he was able to come home the next evening. We feel so blessed and so relieved that it was just a scare and that he is alright. The picture above was taken after we had been told things were ok and we stepped outside to eat dinner. McKenna made a new friend, and Brooklynn...a new boyfriend. Brooklynn planted a huge kiss on this guy. It was hilarious. She just walked right up to him, put her arms around him and boom, kissed him square on the lips! Sure wish I had a picture of that! So glad this day had a happy ending.
Day 112
Today our Lauren turned "11"! I don't know where the time has gone. It was a super busy day full of lots of fun. We are so grateful to have Lauren in our family.
Day 111
Today as I was driving through town, the weather was beautiful and the trees were GORGEOUS! I just kept thinking of the primary song, "Popcorn Popping", THIS is what they mean! I finally had to stop and take a picture. I am grateful for such a beautiful world to live in.
Day 110
I'm not going to lie. Today, was NOT a good day. By the time I got all the kids in bed, THIS is what brought me the greatest joy of the day. I was actually pretty good though and only had "1" spoonful.
Day 109
Brooklynn has been learning about farm animals at pre-school and the teacher asked if we could bring back our chickens to show the children how much they have grown since February. We decided to bring in a boy and a girl so they could see the difference in coloring and things like that. Brooklynn enjoyed showing off her chickens and telling everyone about them. The chickens were very good too and didn't poop on anyone!
Day 108
Some days it really is just the little, simple things that bring me joy. I don't know what it is about little pre-school stick figures that make me so giddy. Brooklynn brought home this cute little hot air balloon. Inside are little drawings of Brooklynn and I flying in the basket. I'm honored that she chose me to be her flying buddy...although I don't believe you'd ever catch me in a hot air balloon...unless maybe it was tethered.

Day 107
Tonight Lauren and I spent a couple of hours working on her birthday party invitations. They turned out so cute! We had seen a cute idea for invitations on-line (here) but we didn't have time to order them before her party but I knew we could make them ourselves. In the end, we decided that they were much cuter than the original.
Day 106
Well, I didn't take any pictures today so....
...I'm posting this picture that I took yesterday. One of Chris' new endeavors...just as soon as I get my new kitchen floor! :0)

Day 105
Today was a gorgeous day. Full of soccer, sun, sunburns....LOTS of time outdoors. The girls both had soccer games which meant we all got burned. Then they came home and got the chalk out. They were playing so nice, which is a rarity. It was so nice to see them share some happy time playing together.
Day 104
Today Chris took the day off to spend time with the kids on their last day of spring break. We headed to the other Trafalga to do some mini-golfing. The kids have never been so it was pretty interesting trying to teach them. It sure was a beautiful day to be outdoors.

Day 103
Today I made several trips to the grocery store to stock up on cereal. Since I have a hard time paying more than 50-75 cents for a box of cereal, I had to grab them while the price was great. I think I ended up with more than 20 boxes. It makes me really happy to see my food storage increase!

Day 102
Today we headed to Trafalga to use our new passes. The kids had a great time. They drove the go-karts and splash boats, climbed the rock wall, rode the merry-go-round, flew some airplanes and played a LOT of laser tag. They are anxious to go back again. Day 3 of spring break, done!

Day 101
Today, when Brooklynn woke up, she had her first visit from the toothfairy! My baby lost her first tooth. She has had a wiggly tooth since her last dentist appointment several months ago. At least once a week for the first little while she'd ask if it was loose enough to pull. Then she asked daily for the past several weeks but it was just too tiny to get a good grip. Finally, last night she said, "Mom, it's time". And we got it! She was so excited to put it under her pillow but this morning when she woke up she was a little bit sad that her tooth was gone. She has a cute little lisp now.

Day 100
Wow! 100 Days. I didn't think I'd make it this far.
Today was the first real day of Spring Break. Since it was a beautiful, bright, sunny morning and a warm 44 degrees out, we of course, headed for the pool! The indoor pool anyway. The kids had a great time swimming. We are all ready for summer!

Day 99
We have been working really hard with Roxy training her so that she doesn't eat our chickens. She has been really good and while she hates this sort of humiliation, she is a good girl and let's the chickens sit on her. So far she hasn't shown any aggression towards them. I hope it lasts! Just to be safe, however, we never leave them alone outside at the same time.
Day 98
What a trooper. Chris has been working so hard on his chicken coop and was hoping to get started on the garden today. But, the weather had other plans. Refusing to let a good Saturday go to waste, he ventured out in the rain, hail and snow to get some weeding done. Roxy was nice and kept him company.

Day 97
Today Chris made some yummy comfort food that brought back fond memories of Hawaii. Spam Musubi. It's sad when the best part of your day is food. No matter how good it may be. That probably explains a lot about me.
Day 96
Today Chris finished the chicken coop! I am so glad that it's finally done. It was a much bigger project than we had anticipated. Given Chris' limited time to work on it, fickle Utah weather, Soccer starting, changing plans several times throughout and life in general, it took a LONG time. But, it's finished and it looks great! The chickens are much happier out here than in the boring box. They are really cute and I am excited for them to start laying eggs.
Day 95
Today Lauren got to go to Clear Creek. It's an overnight-er for all 5th graders. They all look forward to it and it's the big thing when you reach 5th grade. Lauren was so excited and got all packed herself. I don't really even know too much about it other than they go on hikes, play teamwork/unity type games, watch a video from when they started in Kindergarten through now and other stuff.
Day 94
FINALLY! I am almost finished with the girls (Brooklynn & McKenna) room. I just need to move the rest of their furniture, clothes and toys back in and it'll be finished. The hard part is done though which was the painting. It all started with the windows. I thought well, since I have to move a bunch of stuff out for the windows to be put in, I might as well move everything out and have the carpets cleaned. And since I have everything out, I should just go ahead and paint before the carpets are cleaned. So what I thought would take a few days, turned into....too long. Meanwhile, all three girls were basically sharing a room. NOT FUN. Most nights they could sleep in their room but that's about it. I painted the bottom half white, more specifically "Delicate White" and the half top "Plink"....it's a purple-y/pinkish color, because they couldn't agree on a color. One wanted purple, the other pink. This works great. Brooklynn thinks it's magic because when the light is on, it's pink, when the light is off, it's purple. Not really, but she thinks so. Then I painted and added moulding to separate the two colors and bought new curtains. We have decided on moving all the furniture around and switching Brooklynn to the top bunk. Everyone seems happy and I'm so glad to be done.

Day 93
Today the kids were running around outside with Roxy and somehow she sliced open her foot pretty bad. We had to bandage her up and get her a cone so that she can't lick it or get it dirty. She is NOT happy about the "cone of shame" and it's been a pain in the butt having to keep her inside. Hopefully it will heal soon and she can go back outside.
Day 92
Today we watched two wonderful sessions of conference and then the boys headed off to the Priesthood session. Three generations of Gleed's!
Day 91
Today we headed to Idaho for Conference Weekend. We have been doing this ever since we moved down here, almost 10 years ago. Jason introduced us to a new game called, Quelf. We had a great time playing it. Basically you have to do lots of ridiculous things throughout the game, some more ridiculous than others. Chris seemed to pull all the "good" cards. He had to make a mask and wear it until he landed on a green space (which he never did) and this round he had to sit under the table until his next turn. I had a few fun ones too, involving interpretive dance and the chicken dance...not in the same turn however. Thanks for the fun game Jason!
Day 90
Soccer is in full swing around here and Brooklynn had her first game today. She was a little firecracker and scored 6 goals! Here she is (in blue) scoring a goal! Go blue dolphins or mermaids or whatever you are this week!!
Day 89
This one picture a day is hard. Sometimes, I struggle with what to take a picture of, and other days, I can't narrow it down to just one. Today the girls brought home their proofs from Spring Pictures. Since I'm not buying them, I thought I'd share them here. And I know, technically I didn't actually take these photos, but oh well. It's my blog. I can do whatever I want.
