Little Miss Independent

Miss Caroline Elizabeth will most definitely have no trouble taking car of herself.  She is a daredevil, self-sufficient and (dare I say) rather stubborn…

While the kitchen was under construction, we had to keep groceries and dishes in the dining room.  While Grandma and Mommy were upstairs getting ready, Cara decided she wanted some more breakfast.  So she found the containers of donuts and muffins up on the table, brought them down to her level, and helped herself!  Each donut in the box has one bite taken out of it…

Yummy!

Cara has become an expert at mounting and riding the bouncy horse…she also discovered how to turn on his voice…

Mommy, I would like some of this cereal put into my bowl please.  The cereal bag was in its box, on the counter and her bowl was left on her tray on the table.  She got Diana’s stool out of the bathroom, climbed up to get the cereal, took it out the box, found her bowl and brought it to me.

I love to try on different shoes!  What do you think?  Are they “me”?

Highchairs are for babies.  I want to sit at the table like a big girl and eat my waffles.

We had a great experience with our contractor and our carpenter, while he kept unorthodox hours, was amazing.  He did this all by himself (excepting the granite and the plaster work) in 6 days, and that includes a day off for a hurricane!  I think I have finally gotten up all the plaster dust and sawdust, and everything has a place again!  Scott thinks the counters and cabinets are all fine and good, but what he is really excited about is the lack of a half wall between the kitchen and family room!  It really does open the space up a lot.

Saturday’s Photo Shoot

Pictures from Saturday’s attempt at 4 year and 18 month pictures.  Diana was pretty cooperative…Cara was not.  In her defense, she does have her eye teeth coming and a runny nose, but she is a stinker when it comes to taking pictures!

New favorite wee one pic

So much Diana on the blog lately with her birthday and bed and school.  I didn’t want anyone to go through wee one withdrawal.  Here’s Daddy’s new favorite wee one pic that was taken this past weekend.

First day of school

Good morning, everyone.  Today is the first day of 4 year old pre-K.  I’m very excited to see some of my old friends and meet some new ones, too.  I can’t wait to tell everyone about my day.  Talk to you in a couple of hours.

Big girl bed

In case anyone was wondering, I am such the big girl now.  As you all saw in our last post, I’ve mastered the big girl bike.  Yesterday, after the dentist, Daddy picked up my big girl bed.  I think this makes being a big girl official.  Come check it out with me.

IMG_9604

Mommy and Daddy were somewhat sad while setting up my bed.  They wouldn’t let me see it until is was all put together.

IMG_9605

I had to wait downstairs for my mouth to wake up and for my new bed to be made.  It was worth the wait.

IMG_9606

I hopped right up to make myself at home.

IMG_9608

It is sooooo much bigger than my little girl bed.

IMG_9610

Look, Mommy, I can even reach into my top drawer from way up here.

IMG_9611

My new bed is very comfortable.  Mommy says that it’s even more comfortable if I get in.  Let’s see.

IMG_9612

Hmm.  This is much more complicated than the old bed.

IMG_9617

Ah.  Finally.  Here we go.

IMG_9618

Very nice…and a big kiss to top it off.  I like it.

IMG_9619

Now how do I get down?

IMG_9621

Oh, I see.  Just like getting into and out of Mommy and Daddy’s bed.

IMG_9622

Hey, check this out!!  There’s nothing under my bed (yet), and I can fit under this one.

IMG_9623

Cool.  Hi, Mommy!  Look.  I can tickle people lying on the bed from under here.

IMG_9625

I like my new bed.  Now it’s time to get some rest because tomorrow is my first day of pre-K.  Good night, everyone.
