i have spent the last two or three years continually falling off and clambering back on a wagon i wasn't ready to travel on. this month i will be picking myself back up and working towards getting better, for me and for the people who love me.
also because now i have terrifying deadlines and i need to meet them lol some things really don't change.
ANYWAY
a few substantial changes in my life since the last update! i adopted me a fur baby ( οΈΆα΄οΈΆ ) i'm now a graduate, after what feels like forever trailing behind all my peers π full employability is still a struggle, but i am now being paid to live on campus (Β΄α΄`) only time will tell if this was a good decision, but for now i shall learn to be content.

one of my residents shared a post on facebook the other day that i won't link here, but it left a profound impact on me. to the extent that we share all our triumphs and joy, the secret heroes are the ones who do not broadcast their happiness. perhaps it was another tiresome SOCIAL MEDIA IS BAD ADN U SHLD FEEL BAD post but.... i can't stop thinking about it. on a rare good day, i love to see people obnoxiously cute and living their best life, achieving all the milestones i too am working towards. but these days so few and far between, and i haven't been truly, freely happy for a while, and i am running myself so thin.
i think the days of blogging as in journalling are over, and we are witnessing the paradigm shift into instant photo sharing and snaps. i must be honest to myself: this is a trend i tried and failed to follow. but i am stubborn, so i will return to my niche and find peace in the little things.
i have not written words from my heart in such an achingly long time that i find i am, in a sense, no longer fluent in the language i sought comfort and pride in.
this is what illness steals from you. time, memory, a skill. in just two years i have forgotten how writing has always centred me and carried me through some of the darkest times in my life. i will never understand how and why i let this happen, but this is a month of promises and recovery.

disclaimer: coincidentally taken exactly 1 month later on 04/06! still too cheap for a recolour, but i really did cut about 3 inches off & had a fringe trim ;D

βΏ 22/05 βΏ THE DAY. i was brave enough to ask for a print, & i'm glad i did (Β΄α΄`)
βΏ 22/05 βΏ my appetite finally returned after 2 weeks but my fav viet place was closed pfpbtfft ( β―οΈ΅β° ) still managed to satisfy my spring roll craving anyway!
βΏ 25/05 βΏ tried out tetsujin instead of our usual. bit hesitant at first bec it is slightly more pricey, but that black sesame ice cream...! β₯οΈβ₯οΈβ₯οΈ & i'll def come back to try the bbq!

yo it is once again my bubday month & while that is so it is independently also the best month of the year (ΰΉΒ΄α΄`ΰΉ)
last pumpkinmonth i revived this fossil bec i was procrastinating on exam revision, & today i am also procrastinating but on an essay. some things don't change!

β° 05/10 β° received an offer to complete a clinical externship @ SECASA (ββΏβ)
β° 07/10 β° unexpectedly hosted megan for the night when her surprise plan fell through D;
β° 08/10 β° had a feel for burgers & shakes, & found that in springvale of all places
β° 09/10 β° sephora spree + board games with the boys! plus my favourite seared scallops nigiri β‘β‘
β° 10/10 β° countered awful dine-in food w froyo with love
β° 12/10 β° β‘β£ ( οΈΆα΄οΈΆ ) surprise sushi dins & sparkler candles on cake!
β° 13/10 β° went for chaddy's opening night & the place is simply massive :o good news is that h&m and uniqlo are both double-storey now, and sephora...!!! β‘
the newly-opened section is gorgeous. compared to its ultra-modern façade the rest of chaddy seems... sad :(

this will be my september throwback! (οΏ£^οΏ£)γ 2016 has really gotten away from me, like the years before that all the way back to 2013 if i'm completely honest, and i.... have very mixed opinions about it. that's 4 years or 1/6th of my life that i will wind up having very little recollection of. they've been some of the roughest times i've gone through (side-eying you 2009/2010), & i'm not mad that i don't have essentially a diary for them, but it also means i've erased all the happy things that carried me through.
i'll be updating this post as events unfold and i think september will be a good month! the tulip festival is back in business; it's my mid-sem break coming up month-end, & my feetsies are getting itchy β»
