Well…well…finally the great IPL (Indian Political League) is over and amidst loads of speculations and allegations our dear Prime Minister has turned the tables on his detractors. I am very happy. I for one have complete faith in Papaji. Not only is he a very learned man but also respected by his peers, with head on his shoulders and feet firmly in the ground. Of course like everything else in this country, the trust vote too wasn’t without its share of controversies. From Somnath Chatterjee’s sacking (for refusing to step down as the Speaker) to Mayawati’s humble and subtle (pun intended) dream of becoming the next PM of India (shudder shudder) to Omar Abdullah’s most talked about speech. And last but not the least the MPs who were allegedly bribed by the UPA flashing the wads of notes in the Lok Sabha.
This entire circus was played on National television. No one could figure out who was the ring master and who held the whip. Imagine our plight…we who pay our taxes regularly (so that they can be distributed as bribes)…we who wait in line for hours to cast our vote (only to see such mockery amongst those who hold the reins of our country)…why do we have to go through this? What example are we setting for the next generation? Why should we tell them to be honest tax paying citizens? Why should they cast their vote? Do we have any replies to these questions?
Well just because I want the glass to be half full, I thank God that Mr. Singh won this trust vote. Now only time will tell what happens in the elections? As for me I guess I will still be waiting in a queue eager to cast my voteJ
Psst: Last heard one Ms. Sushma Swaraj has proclaimed that the recent spate of bomb blasts in Bangalaore and Ahmedabad was the handiwork of the UPA govt. to distract janta from the bribe isse. Tch..tch…sour grapes don’t taste nice…do they? Ms. Swaraj needs to get her head examined. When Sonia Gandhi was touted to be the PM, she declared that she would tonsure her head if such a thing happened. Poor Mr. Swaraj…his wife would have looked like a widow while he was alive…Doesn’t suit you madam…you are a firebrand…use your energy for the betterment of the country and not in such loose talk. Ever heard Margaret Alva or Ambika Soni make such remarks?
