Miss Camille Lauren is such a sweet baby. She is now 2 weeks old and we are just so surprised at how good she is (so far). I had prepared myself for a difficult baby b/c our boys were good also, so I assumed we were going to get payback. So far, she is the best baby of all three kiddos.
Her first name is one Brad picked out before we even had kids. We grew up always hearing about Hurricane Camille in Louisiana (the last big one before Katrina). Her middle name is after my BFF Lauren who is such a wonderful friend and has an inspiring spirit. So far we are lucky that our baby is taking after her middle name & not her first!!
***************
The day she was born went really well. I had a scheduled repeat c-section at noonish. The only snafoo we had was my epidural kept making my blood pressure drop REALLY low so they ended up having to put me under general anesthesia (which was really fine b/c after my BP dropping so low 3 times I was ready for a little nap :) The only bummer of that situation is that Brad had to leave the room, but the staff was nice enough to video tape Miss Camille's first moments for us. She weighed 8 lb 6 oz.

When I was back in my regular room and they brought her to me for the first time, I was so excited about her hair (the fact that she had some & that it is brown like mine) She was in a cute outfit and had a sassy bow on her head--Can you believe that Brad picked all of her wardrobe and accesories out without any direction from me (nearly brought me to tears)
My mom & dad were at the hospital during the delivery and then Victoria brought the boys up to visit that afternoon. Can I also get a "shout out" that they are not jealous at all (so far) and they just love on her so much! I wish I could say the same for Wiggy -- another rung down the ladder -- a few hot wheels have been victim to Wiggy chewing them up the past two weeks.

My mom stayed a week to help us out. Camille had her first doctors appt and weighed in at 8 lb 1 oz. All of her measurements were around the 60 %tile. I'm so excited her head is not above the 100 %tile like my boys. All in all, we are blessed and thankful. I'm so happy that our family is complete!!!

Very proud & excited big brothers!

Camille Lauren Johnson was born into our family December 7th at 1204 pm. We have had a busy week but couldn't wait another minute to introduce her to my blog world. Hopefully tomorrow I can post more pics and give some details of her eventful first week. We have truly been blessed with another beautiful, healthy child.

Thankful

I am thankful that I have a wonderful husband. He has been tested these last few months & I'm sure will be rewarded with some normalcy in 2010.

I am thankful that I have two healthy boys and a baby girl on the way. We are planning to remove Cooper's IV a week from tomorrow! He is so strong and I believe will do great for the rest of his recovery. Brady is just a character & has really enjoyed having Cooper at home the last two months. Brady attends speech therapy twice a week & we are so thankful for that resource & it has really made a big difference.

I am also thankful for a quiet holiday...it has really been nice to rest and relax (& have food delivered to us--thx Celeste & Joe)

I am thankful for our family & friends that live in LA & TX; we hope to see all of them soon to celebrate our new addition to the family!

The Pink Invasion

The pink invasion has begun at our house after having two baby showers in the last week. We were definitely blessed with some of the sweetest gifts and precious girlie girl stuff. I honestly had not bought the first bottle or diaper so we are so grateful.

Thanks again!

Can you believe Amy & her mom & sister can make cakes like this? Beautiful & yummy too!

The first gift...a razorback onesie with "my little black dress" monogrammed on it

Image
There were 3 precious girls there to help with all the presents--Katelyn, Riley & Meg. It is so funny to me b/c there is no way my little boys would function at a baby shower.
I was also given a shower at work this week & we ate a potluck Thanksgiving lunch--yummy to my pregnant tummy! Thank goodness there are no pictures of that b/c me wearing scrubs right now is not my favorite thing that I want to have remembered in pictures. Although, I had a patient take my picture with her I-phone b/c she wanted my pic to come up when our office calls her. I was just shocked & am hoping that we don't have many reasons to call her.

When I was going thru all of the baby girl stuff, Brady walked in the room and said, "Whads aw dis Bawbie duff foe?" (Translation: What's all this barbie stuff for? ) Anything girlie or pink seems to be yucky and barbie-ish to my boys. However, they proceded to put on pink bibs and pink bows and try to get in the new pink bathtub! I tried to get a pic of Cooper & he quickly said, "No, some big kids could see those pictures and not think that it was very funny"
We are on the serious countdown....c-section on Dec 7th!!! Eleven days!

UPME

UPME is an acronym used at our house for Utterly Physically Mentally Exhausted. Feel free to use it anytime you want. If Brad or I say "Upme" to one another, then the other knows not even to bother asking any questions b/c you are past the point of exhaustion. That is where we are pretty much but thought I should offer an update.

We saw Infection doctor last Thursday & he said we could try the oral antibiotics 3 times daily for next 6 weeks to complete 3 month regimen....didn't work.....nasty smell & taste even with trying to mask it. There is one other option but it has a higher side effect profile & we really don't want to chance any of those, so for now, our plan is to continue the IV meds for the next six weeks. If the PICC line comes out or shows any signs of infection, then Brad & I may just have to reconsider our options....Upme!

Halloween 2009

Image
We started the Halloween festivities going to Cooper's school party on Friday. They do not allow the kids to have any superhero costumes, so the Transformers were not an option. Both of my boys are semi-obsessed with Big Foot, so I made them Sasquatch costumes. Of course, Coop refused to wear his to the party & Brady declined the makeup...so we settled for Buzz Lightyear pajamas for Coop's costume & just the shirt for Brady's (which turned out really cute if I must say so myself)

Image
We headed to the cabin that night for a change of scenery & carved pumpkins. Brad did the majority of the artistry work b/c by the time I had scooped the insides out of both pumpkins my back was killing me.

Image
Coop did a great job of poking the holes for the pattern. In this pic, he is trying to multi-task and watch tv also.

They don't want those ever again!

Our first trick or treaters...Ainsley & Avery Smith, Riley Nash, Cooper & Brady

Image

After whirlwind trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, the boys were eagerly waiting to hand out candy. Too Cute!

Image

Daddy, Bumblebee & Optimus Prime were exhausted!

Cooper & Brady are already talking about next year....
