Sky turns 2!

I've been a mom for 2yrs, wow! Though I feel like Skylin's birthday is also a celebration for me, this post is not about me ;). Skylin is maturing into an adorable toddler and we love her to pieces! She always has us on our toes. She's a little chatter box these days. My fav phrases of hers right now are "I'm sorry mom," "I'm happy!" "Me help clean," and "It's fun!"It's absolutely amazing how fast she's learning right now. She weighs a whopping 25.5lbs and measures 2'7.5". She is such a lover, always wanting to give hugs and kisses to everything that is important to her. Still has blue eyes and curly blond hair. She talks to everyone when we go to the store, but if we're making her the center of attention she gets very shy. She can count to 10, knows a few of her ABC's, likes to sing and dance, and is the best big sister we could ask for.We're so grateful to have Sky has a part of our family!! I think Skylin hit her terrible 2's early, because 2 has been a very happy and fun age for us!


Sky loves horses, so naturally we threw her a "horse party." It was a wonderful day and the best part was how happy and special Sky felt. Thanks to everyone who came!

6 months

You probably noticed we've been real busy lately. I haven't been thinking much about the blog. I'm sure I'll catch y'all up eventually. Been working on lots of projects, getting ready for Christmas and Sky's birthday party, and living the life of a mom.

Truly is 6 months old now! Can't get enough of her. She weighs 16.4lbs. She thinks Sky is the funniest person alive and every time it looks like Sky's about to hurt her, Tru just laughs! haha. She can sit up on her own now and she very much enjoys it. She has become a little wiggle worm. I think she's ready for the next step. She started eating some solid foods and has been real pleased with it. So far she's had rice cereal, peas, and sweet potatoes. She loves to be surrounded by people. She doesn't cry all that often, but she's a yeller. I'm serious. When she wants food, or sleep she just yells. If she's ignored she'll eventually cry. It's pretty funny, but she can get really loud. She's still a good sleeper and very easy going. I don't remember what life was like without her and not having 2 kids. What did I do with just 1 kid? haha. Probably more blogging...

5 months

Truly is 5 months now. Every time I blink, she turns another month. It's insane. I LOVE this stage of baby! She is seriously perfect to me. I tell everyone she's my angel baby. We've had many challenges this year and I honestly believe Tru was sent here for me. Well probably for all of us, but I AM the mom. Ha. There's just something about the Spirit of a baby that really changes the feeling in your home. Gosh, I love my girls! I love my family. They make me feel so blessed!

Anyway, on to this months changes... Truly is letting her personality show more. She makes some pretty funny faces. She can get things she wants a bit better, and it's been taking Sky by surprise. (Like when Tru grabs Sky's hair. HA!) She weighs 15lbs and is 26 1/4in long. She still nurses, but I give her a bottle before bed. She drinks 8oz before bed! That's nuts to me. The most Sky ever drank was 6. She just weighs so much more and I think she's getting ready to need some solids in her diet. She's a pro at holding her own bottle! She has such an easy-going personality and is always full of smiles. She enjoys standing now and is getting close to be able to sit up on her own. I love her big blue eyes, her super kissable, chunky cheeks, and the fact that her feet are her most fav toy. So not fair that the baby stages are the shortest of all. Maybe that's why they're so enjoyable. :)

Halloween

We dressed up as Crayons for Halloween. It was fun! We celebrated all weekend with a party on Friday, our Ward Fall Festival/Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, a baby blessing and family time on Sunday, and then another fall festival and trick-or-treating on Monday. Holy cow! We really enjoyed taking Sky door to door, even if she could only handle a few streets! She was crying for her bed when we were done! haha. She would say "trick or treat" walking up to the door, but got shy every time they answered. Truly was adorable and easy, of course. Love me little crayons! Austin and I can act like kids again because of them! :)Our official Crayola Crayon names: aquamarine, torch red, tickle me pink, and purple pizzazz

4 months

Baby Tru (as Sky calls her) is 4 months old now! She is such a happy baby... Just as long as she is able to get her sleep. She loves her crib and does not like to be put to sleep. When we're gone places, I mostly just have to give up and stick her in her car seat in a dark room. A little too independent for her age? Debatable. She weighs about 13.8lbs now and is a super fast eater. Nursing her is a breeze... I feel like it's 15min tops now days. She sleeps close to 12hrs at night, takes 3 naps, and always wakes up happy. I feel like I treat her more like a baby than I did with Sky, but she seems to still be meeting her milestones. She laughs now and rolls over all the time. She's actually happy playing on the floor, something I never experienced with Sky until she could sit up by herself. Her hair seems to be getting a little lighter and I can put a little pony tail in it. hehe. She loves attention and getting zrbtt's from her big sister. (don't know what that is? Watch the Cosby Show... season 2 I think.) She's a fan of blowing spit bubbles, which Sky thinks is hilarious. Still majorly beautiful if you ask me. I'll never get enough of big blue eyes and smiles. :)

21 months

Skylin is 21 months now. She's changed so much in 3 months I just wanted to share facts about her. She is such a fun girl! She makes us laugh every day. She does the silliest things. She sometimes even gets in these moods where she just laughs at everything. I love it! She is also talking so much more. I couldn't tell you how many words she knows and uses. She learns more every day. She has a love for horses, babies, and books. She sleeps with books and babies every night, which keep her plenty entertained when she wakes up. She still sleeps 12hrs at night and takes 1 nap. She actually likes to have her teeth brushed and insists on it! (We have come a long way!) She has this big sister thing pretty much down. I can't get enough of how much they love each other. Skylin always looks for Truly the first thing after waking up. She could care less about me. ha! She has gotten so much more gentle and patient than she was. She's actually helpful too: throwing away diapers, getting me things, and helping with chores. Her favorite game is Hide-n-seek baby and can count to 6 all by herself! She has become a daddy's girl. She loves to play with him every time he comes home. (And am I allowed to add that she is better behaved for him too? Cute stinker!) Between fits and hurt feelings, Sky is filled with so much love to give and we love her SOOO much for it.I added these pics that my sis-in-law took when they were visiting. Sky is finding more enjoyment out of playing with other kids, especially her cousin...
And thinks jumping on the bed is the best! She disappears to her room to do this often.

3 months

Truly is 3 months already! This past month has flown by! Though it's been a wonderful adjustment, I still feel like I just had her. Maybe her big sister has something to do with that. Tru is a great baby! I love how smiley she is getting. She loves when I talk to her and she also loves watching Sky. She's rolled over a handful of times, but doesn't do it consistently. She's also started trying to grasp objects and put them in her mouth. She's actually a thumb sucker. It's looks so cute, but I do not want her to have that habit, so I always give her the binky. Sometimes when I haven't laid her down for nap yet, I'll catch her sucking her thumb. Has since the day she came out! She still has all of her gorgeous brown hair, which is a little surprising since she has those big blue eyes just like Sky has. She averages 10hrs between feedings at night and now weighs 13.2 lbs. I feel so blessed and just keep praying I can be the mom my girls need.

Labor Day Weekend

We started the weekend off early Last Friday when one of my best friends got married. It was a beautiful and fun ceremony and reception! I'm so happy for you Alan and Samantha Abildskov! And I'm so happy we got to be apart of your big day! (I'm only sad about the fact that we are no longer aloud to live next door to each other, because I enjoy being at the top of our ward list. (;)

Monday morning Austin was up early to go cliff jumping at the lake with some of the young men. The girls and I met them at Austin's parents to swim. Later, we went by the Superstition Mountain Museum. (Free groupon find(:) We had never been before. Sky's favorite parts were the fake horses and carriages, of course. They have an elvis chapel that was used for lots of movies. We had fun! We even went to a bbq later that day. We were all exhausted by the end, but oh how I love me some family time!
