Tahoe

While still in Reno our friends invited us to go up to Tahoe for the day with them. (Tahoe was another place we never managed to go to while living there)

Tahoe is so beautiful!

The kids chasing around the birds. Being September and the middle of the week there were not many other people there so the kids had the whole beach to run up and down scaring the birds away.
Image
The youngest two enjoyed there time eating a little treat and a little sand.
Image
Keisha enjoyed digging in the sand. It took a while to get her to go walk around in the water.
Image
Adam took the oldest kids out exploring for creatures. They found a couple fish and beetle if i remember right.
Image
The water was a lot warmer that we expected it to be. The kids enjoyed wading around in it while the men took turns swimming out and about.
Image
The kids attempted to build a sand castle but as fast as it went up it came down just as fast with the help of there younger siblings.

We packed up and loaded in the cars just before it started to down poor.

If we still lived there adam would probably be to tahoe everyday he had off.

Reno cont.

While in reno are days were filled with fun things to do. We had to stop by the ferris wheel at scheels and let the little ones ride.  When we were living there charles was never tall enough and adahleigh did not want to ride it. I am not sure what the kids enjoyed riding more though the ferris wheel or the escalators.

We also spent a lot of time at the hotels swimming pool.  I would say the kids enjoyed it the most but i think adam did the most swimming while we were there.

We also stopped by and hit up Circus Circus so the kids could watch some of the shows and to play some games at the arcade.
Image
It took all three of them but they finally one some tickets to buy them each a little piece of candy.
Image
We even road the tram that went from hotel to hotel.

We also hit up some parks to play, did a little shopping, and hit up some of the local restaurants that were good that we didn't make it to while living there.

Hot Air Balloons 2011

In September we headed back to reno to visit friends and to watch the hot air balloon races again.

Image
The kids did really well for having to be woken up at 4:30 in the morning to go and see the light show.

I think keisha enjoyed the show the most. They play music while they light them and she was dancing and clapping the whole time.

Keisha made it until about 8 before she decided she was just to tired.

within minutes she was out like a light.

The kids getting up close and seeing what a hot air balloon feels like.
Image
We waited all morning for the butterfly balloon to appear after adahleigh had found it looking in the book that listed all the balloons. We thought we would get to see it fly but they were using it to give kids rides which only took them a few feet off the ground before floating back down. Maybe when the kids are older and are tall enough to look out of the basket we will give them a ride.

Family photo: Keisha is in the stroller sleeping still, we only buried her slightly.

High Desert Museum

Our library has a pass we can check out for a week to go and visit the local museum in the area. We have been a couple times and the kids enjoy seeing the animals and being able to run around.

They have a little climbing section where the kids can run around and explore. They had smaller rocks you could push out of the way and it would show different animals hiding under them.
Image
Keisha trying to get a closer look at the snake under the rock. She kept her distance though none of them were actually real.
Image
Charles is definitely adams son. He loved exploring and finding all the different animals.

Image
This was adahleigh's favorite part. They have a area that has a pioneer feel to it. They let you pump your own water and then take it to the garden to water the plants. There were not many kids there today so they each took a couple turns.
Image

Image

Image
They also had a few pioneer games lying around that the kids took a shot at. They were both a little small to actually get the circle rolling. (We have video of adam doing it, but we can't get videos to work on our blog at the moment.)

Playing in the rope spider web at the playground.
Image
Keisha only made it through part of the day before zonking out.
Image
The playground was a giant dirt pile. We were going home afterwards so we let the kids have at it until they were tired.

Spring is on the way

This year for Valentine's Day we had stake conference, so we got all the kids dressed up and ready to go. They were actually willing to ...
