NICE!! I was teaching Chy some traditions today. We hid baby Jesus (because he isn't born yet). Later we are baking with some friends!

Happy Thanksgiving!

And what a great Thanksgiving day we had. We hosted it this year. Everything went as planned and the Turkeys tasted great! Chy enjoyed it : ) The day after, we decorated the house for Christmas. and I took her out for some Black Friday shopping. We walked to the stores thinking it will give me some exercise and will limit me on what I could buy. Well, I ended up getting tired and bought too much, so I called a cab (Gord : )). Yesterday, Chy and I were shopping again and feeling grateful for everything we have, so we decided to go to church. WOW.. she was a wild women in there. Climbing on me, wanting to get down screaming (joyfully), reaching for the kids behind me yadd yadda yadda. Makes for a loooong hour, huh? She is sooo active, now.

Today we plan to go buy some gates for the house. It is time : )

Today Chylar was Christened! It was a great day, great weather, great food and lots of family. it was so nice that all my in town family was able to make the baptism. Especially, since it is close to the holidays and many have to flee to other cities/states/countries : ), we all got to spend some time together. Enjoy the pics...

Bit o' History... The dress Chylar was wearing is 50 years old. My sister Susie was the first to wear it! She is Chylar's godmother. I was the 8th to wear it and Chylar was the 18th!! It was so nice to make her a part of that family tradition. 13 of us were here today to celebrate (including my sister, Kim (rest in peace)). The other 5 were thinking of us from afar (in Boston).

Happy Halloween ALL. Well, this was the first one with a little one and boy was it fun. She is renewing all the excitment in my life. She makes everything new again. I almost couldn't sleep the night before. I bet christmas will be 100 times more the fun, huh? We had family over to show off her costume and eat some homemade french onion soup!!

Chy now has 2 teeth. 2 very sharp teeth : ) We all have learned that the hard way.

Tooth!!

We got a tooth! We thought we felt it last weekend, but she would not let us see. She kept sticking her tongue out and blocking. Well, Tuesday, when I was bathing her, she looked up at me and smiled. And there is was!! Bottom left. She wasn't even cranky before hand. Later this week she became irritable. Maybe there is another on the way out!

We had Chy's 6 month pictures done today and I told the photographer that she was a hard nut to crack when it came to smiling for pictures. Boy, did she prove me wrong. She was FULL of smiles and giggles. Maybe this whole time she just wouldn't smile for cheap a$$ cameras, like ours. She was hilarious!! She said I should be able to see some of the pics tomorrow and the rest in a bout 7 days. I will put the link up when I have it. Gordon and I got in a couple of the shots! We even had a wardrobe malfunction and had to change one of the planned outfits and we still were done in 45 min... I think we have a professional on our hands... She was exhausted, though. We had to run out and get a sandwich after and she slept through it all!! She needs her beauty sleep. Thank God the photographer said she can edit out drool... we had buckets flowing.

PS... I went back to work today from the surgery. I feel good. I'm still a little sore and swollen (I hope, none of my pants fit). It was hard to leave Chy, again. I know I will get back in my working routine, but it was hard to leave her this morning.

6 mos check up!

Chy visited the doctor today. She was weighed in at 17 lbs and 9 oz and 27 inches tall! Her weight fell into the 76 percentile and her height in the 86th. The doctor said she is perfect! : ) DUHHH She set us at ease a little with Chylar rolling over at night. She tested her strength and said she is strong enough and it is instinctual to lift/turn your head to breathe. Lets see if WE sleep better, now! She said she is ready to sit and is almost there. She has had rice and oat cereal and will have some veggies tonight!!

Happy Anniversary, Gord!

Not a lot has been easy for us the last 4 years, but our marriage has been. We are true partners and get through everything stronger than we started. I'm not saying we don't fight : ), but we do it lovingly. Obstacles can make a couple or break them... they made us! I love you, Gord!!

Tonight we are going out to dinner to celebrate with our baby girl! We are so happy to be able to do this. This has been a very good year...

6 month old!

Chy has turned 6 months! This means she needs her picture taken professionally! I scheduled it today. I'm hoping we sneak in a family portrait, too. We are due. She has started to eat cereal and oh it is sooo cute. I knew she would love it. She gets so excited when she sees the spoon. She grabs the spoon and wants to feed herself, but then starts to gag : ) She is a valley girl, for sure, for sure. (Gag me with a spoon, totally) For her first feeding, Gord and I did rock, paper, scissors to see who got to feed her and HE won... ARRRGG! I got stuck video taping. She is moving into 9 mos clothes! She is getting a little more moody which makes me think teeth may be coming. I can't believe she is 6 mos already. Time is flashing before my eyes.

2 weeks post op!

I went for my 2 week post op check up and was given permission to hold C!!! YEA! I will never take for granted holding her. I still can't pick her up, but she can be placed in my arms (until she starts flailing). It was a good day. I feel OK. Still sore, but I will live : ) I am restless and want to move more, but I know I need to stay put.

Yesterday, I saw Chy make a razzing sound with her mouth... cute. With all the drool she was making bubbles. She is chomping on EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING is saturated with her drool. We may be getting teeth soon. We are on the count down for food! Get the cameras ready. I know she will love eating. She stares at us while we eat and her lips move and her eyebrows go up. So curious.

In case you have not heard, Coleen had some surgery this past week and is recovering just fine. She cannot do a lot of things with Chylar at the moment, so I am being Super Dad and Husband at the same time right now. I am just glad that she is doing well, and I have been getting a LOT of help from Col's family and our friends!....thanks everyone!

Chylar is giggling/laughing and smiling a lot more these days, so she is entertaining everyone as always!

She did it! She rolled for the first time today from her back to her tummy! Gord was home with her. He didn't see it, though. She was playing on her activity mat behind him and he heard that she stopped kicking all her toys, he turned around and BAM she was on her tummy. He couldn't believe it and called me at work. I came home and she has done it about 5 times now! We got it on video. Now she has to learn how to get back on her back.

Hanging in her Bumbo!

Nothing new, but I wanted to share some new pics! She is getting so strong. The smiles come so much more frequently and brightens our day! Unfortunately, when the camera comes out, she gets this puzzled look. Someday we will capture her SMILING! I have been taking a lot of video lately. As soon as we get a new computer, I will be able to download and show you guys! But for now, enjoy!

How big is Chylar... sooo big!

We went to the Dr for her 4th month check up today. Again, we were so surprised at how much she weighed. At 2 months she was 11 lbs 2 oz and we both thought she would be around 13 lbs. Well, she weighed in at an outstanding 14 lbs 9 oz... I need to start washing her next wardrobe!! A friend of mine and I were talking about how great it would be to have a new wardrobe every 2 months. AWESOME, what a life. She has, also, grown 3 inches in length. She is in the 70 percentile for both weight and length. The Dr asked if she was rolling yet. I said no. She said that it is common for bigger babies to roll later. We thought that was funny. After bringing her home at 5lbs, we never thought she would be considered a bigger baby. The Dr was thrilled with her growth and her sleep habits. Gord was nervous that she was sleeping too much, but the Dr said it is working for her!

Saturday we had a party for Chylar celebrating us as a forever family. Of course, we picked the hottest day of the year to do this. Our air conditioner was working overtime!!
