Night at the Park
To kick off our labor day weekend we headed to the park with the Smith's.
Within about 10 minutes of being there, the football went in the pond :(
The guys pondering the floating ball (don't worry, it eventually drifted to the other side)
the guys did a little fishing
and Grayson caught a fish!!
It was a great night to just be outside and enjoy the sunset!
The girls (Haley, Camdyn, Amanda and me) spent most of the time chatting it up!
We also saw a Blue Moon (named because it is the second full moon of the year, not actually blue). I tried taking a picture, but it wasn't too exciting. Though the moon did look big in person, just not in the picture.
Great kick off to a wonderful long weekend! Thanks for inviting us Brad and Haley!
introducing: Cole Henry Heinemann
Friday August 17th my favorite "nephew", Cole Henry Heinemann was born to our dear friends Tom and Angie. After much internal struggle on whether to skip town at 6am Friday morning and head to SA to wait for Cole's arrival, Tom told us to hold off and stick to our plan to go to SA the next weekend. All day we patiently....or not so patiently, awaited pictures of the little guy! We got a text shortly after 5pm that Cole was born at 4:06pm! I cried, of course. We know how much Tom and Angie (and all their friends and family) have been praying for this sweet baby and now he was here! The bad news (for us), we had to wait a WHOLE WEEK to see him. So I demanded Ang send as many pictures as possible to keep us "satisfied" until the following Saturday. She did not disappoint. She kept Em and me updated on all things cute!
Here are a "FEW" pictures Ang shared over the week, that were just TOO adorable not to share here too!
Happy birthday to the ULTIMATE TANGIE (our nick name for Tom and Angie)
first night at home, he was a pro already!
Matt's favorite: Touchdown!!!
as Angie called this one "Burrito Baby". That face is too much!
I LOVE this one! so relaxed!
sweetest face ever!!
family favorite: the turtle face
FINALLY, after the LONGEST work week f our lives, Em, Matt and I headed out Saturday (right after Em got out of training) to see this little cutie in person! We spent the next, almost 24 hours fighting over who got to hold Cole next :)!
Cole, your uncle Matt LOVES you so much!
so happy to be with great friends and the cutest one week old I've ever seen!
Cole loves snuggling with Em!
Sent the men out to get food.....I THINK they got enough fried chicken.......for a week!
Sunday morning we came back over for some more Heinemann time!
Mommy and baby! Beautiful sight!!
the men!
Martha came over to meet Cole too!
LOVE that face, everytime!
snuggling :)
girls love Cole!
Ang sent this one later, love those pretty eyes!
Cole, I want you to know (when I embarrass you and read this to you later, and maybe show your future wife), that you have THE most amazing parents ever. You are also the cutest baby :) I hope you know we have all prayed for you since the moment we found out you'd be coming into this world and will continue to pray for you and your parents for the rest of our lives. Matt says he can't wait to come to your state championship basketball game, we will be there! We also can't wait for you to play with our kids someday! Can't wait to watch you grow into an amazing Godly man. You were a baller from the day you were born, so we have no doubt you will only get even cooler.

introducing: Ms. Gillham
Trying to catch up on some big events that have been happening lately.
A few weeks ago marked Em's first day in her new career, Math Teacher at YES Prep!
I was fortunate enough to get to go by before school started to see her room and help get some things set up (I taped down all the table and chair numbers)
Ms. Gillham would FOR SURE be my favorite teacher!
Ready for the first day!!
Em, I know you are making an impact on so many kids, you have no idea. We are so excited for your new adventures and thankful that God's plan to teach brought you to Houston!
