Safe Party Tips
As the host of a party, you can be held responsible for injuries or damages that occur as a result of guests being intoxicated. Planning ahead can lower risks.
Here's How:
1. Don't drink too much yourself!
2. Serve drinks yourself instead of having an open bar.
3. Offer non-alcoholic drinks as well(i.e. sparkling grape juice)
4. Serve food!
5. Stop serving alcohol a few hours before the party is over.
6. Don't plan physical activities like swimming, skiing, snowmobiling or skating when you serve alcohol.
7. Plan to deal with guests who drink too much.
8. Provide small gifts to your designated drivers to let them know you appreciate them.
9. Be prepared for overnight guests.
10. Know how your guests will be going home from your party.
Try these 'alcohol-free' recipes at your next party:

Birthdays
[24] Comments

November 9 is my birthday! Another year has gone by and so much has happened in my life. Some things have been wonderful and some not so wonderful. Still life is beautiful; I can't complain. I have had many blessings in my life and so much love has surrounded me. I'm very thankful to God for my life and my family, my friends, health and prosperity.
My Birthday Wish: Something red!

Goodbye Tercel and Welcome Yaris!

Ten years ago I purchased you, a white Toyota Tercel.
Over the years, you have carried me everywhere:
All over Ontario to Montreal, Quebec City, New Brunswick,
Nova Scotia, and all the way to Prince Edward Island.
You have been a good car and I have been very happy driving you.
You have been my ride to work everyday.
You have been through quite a trial: When you were hit from behind
but you survived. You were fixed as good as new.
Your gas tank has been replaced, and mufflers, brakes, and tires.
Of course through much of your journey some of your parts wore out naturally.
Last month you were diagnosed and it looked terminal:
Your engine needs to be rebuild at a cost of more than three thousand dollars.
That's too much money. So, we decided not to fix you.
The mechanic said we can drive you
until you need new spark plugs again.
But my birthday came and time for your emission test.
Sadly the test result was a fail.
I didn't have my choice but to let you go.
I traded you in for a new 2006 Toyota Yaris Le.
Thanks for the journey. I will miss you terribly.

Goodbye Tercel and Welcome Yaris!

On May 23, Victoria Day we went to Niagara Falls, Ontario. I wanted to see the Tulips. We left around 10:00 in the morning and we arrived in Niagara Falls in the afternoon. The mist covered the concession area on the Canadian side. It was just like it was raining. Hubby wanted to take Abby there anyway in spite of the mist. We brought a plastic poncho to cover the stroller and Abby. We walked through the mist of Niagara Falls. We got wet even though we wore jackets. We ended up in the concession stores. We bought two more ponchos made of plastic for Mom and me. We walked through the mist again on our way back to the car. Of course , on the way back we took pictures. Back at the car we had our lunch. After lunch we walked some more and saw more flowers.
Then we left the Falls area and went to the Botanical Gardens. We walked through the gardens for a short while. We found Tulips and a variety of other flowers. There was a sign at the Tulip display saying " We apologize for the poor state of the Tulip display this year . The deer ate the Tulips".
Abby slept all the way there to Niagara Falls. But on the way home she cried. I tried giving her, her bottle but she kept crying. So I had to take some extreme measures. I nursed her. She was in her car seat so I really had to bend towards her so she could reach my milk. Have you done anything like that? I have done it 4x already. I guess you'll do anything for your kids. Wouldn't you? What do you do when your baby cries in the car?
