Agring & the Easter Bunny
This story is just for fun. I know for a fact that it's not real. It's all about Jesus Christ, his birth and resurrection!
The big Easter egg hunt was about to begin. Agring and Abby were determined to find the golden eggs. Two were hidden somewhere in the park along with lots of other Easter eggs painted all sorts of colors. Prizes were awarded for each egg recovered, but the grand prize went to the finders of the two golden eggs. They would get a free pass to the neighborhood pool for the whole summer.
As the bell rang to start the hunt, scores of kids from all over the community charged into the park searching under rocks, behind trees and under picnic tables. Agring and Abby were checking the tall grass next to the creek when their friend, Brad, called out from across the park, "I found one of the golden eggs inside this hollow log!"
Frustrated, Agring and Abby plopped down in the grass. As Abby hit the ground, they heard a yelp. "What was that?" Abby asked. "I don't know," Agring said. A small voice came up from the grass behind them. "It's me, you silly people. Didn't you see me lying here in the sun?
Agring and Abby look around, surprised. There, right before them in the grass was a small, white rabbit. "Who are you," Agring asked slowly, eyes wide.
It's him!"
Don't you know a rabbit when you see one?"
"But, but . . . Rabbits can't talk!" Abby said, astonished.
"Well, I'm no ordinary rabbit. I'm the Easter Bunny! I heard you talking about the golden egg, and I can help you find it if you like. But you will have to share the prize."
"That's okay with me," Agring said. "Me too," Abby eagerly agreed.
The white rabbit seemed to smile and then, suddenly, took off across the grass like a rocket! Agring and Abby ran as fast as they could to keep up with him. For quite some time the tiny, snow white critter sprinted from tree to tree, sniffed under rocks and leaves and, finally, abruptly stopped at a trash can. "It's in there," the Easter Bunny said, confidently, nose wiggling with excitement. Sure enough, Agring looked inside and there it was! The second golden egg! It was in the trash can, wrapped in plain brown paper.
Agring took it out and unwrapped it carefully. "Wow, I'll bet no one ever would have looked in here," Abby said, taking the egg and holding it up in the air. "Hey everyone, we found the golden egg!" Abby shouted with glee.
"How did you find the egg so quickly?" one of the grown-ups supervising the hunt asked. "That egg was very well hidden!"
"Our friend over there," Agring said turning to point to the helpful hare. "That rabbit. He helped!"
"Who? What do you mean? I don't see anything," the adult said, puzzled. "What rabbit? There's nothing there!"
Agring and Abby grinned broadly as they watched the Easter Bunny disappear back into the tall grass by the creek. They could see him, even if the grown-ups could not. "Thanks Easter Bunny," Agring and Abby whispered to each other, smiling.
It's him!

Happy Easter!
The End
