updates!!

just an update.
i have FINALLY landed on British soil.
super looooooooooooong flight.
crazy transit hours and bad on-flight ear pressure.

anyway, as my uni's internet doesnt allow me to access networking sites,
so, i cant use facebook, [until i have a way to get around it.]
uni so lame! but overall i think i really like the place. beginning to walk A LOT!
but anyway, yeah.
i'll try to get on facebook soon.

correction, facebook is up and running, uni is NOT lame =D

mass production

do you know what's the worst thing about being sick?

the overly obvious indication that you'll never be well soon enough.
at that point in time, you're just thinking to yourself,

"i.am.going.to.DIE!" not literally, though it feels pretty dang close.

the weekend last week was pretty eventful,
never did i think to myself before i left home, that i would spend every waking hour, on my feet, in the never-forgiving malaysian sun, trying to get everything done in time, by public transport no less.
thankfully, i survived but not with hiccups on the way home and panadols before bed.

being that it was the weekend after the world cup, la furia roja for me, was in fever pitch.
please allow me the satisfaction of typing in caps : SPAIN ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
ooh rah! [following the footsteps of a tumblr i laugh whenever i read the captions.]

note to self: never eat bananas when your stomach doesn't feel so good, it comes out your nose in protest!

long over due

firstly, happy birthday mum!
though this post is two days late, i think my mum would understand the torture im going through at the moment.

to summarise my month or so:

im currently a hermit,
my books are everywhere within arms reach.
i think i look really out of it.
and shan just said my blog is dead, thats why im updating. hah!

sometimes i feel like im about to puke,
looking at all that i have and havent covered.
sometimes i fall asleep on my table wondering to myself
what have i gotten myself into.
sometimes i read so much, my eyes and brain hurt.
i need a break.
which i sometimes take too many.
with the occasional discovery of awesome indie bands on youtube

Image
harper blynn is awesome!

and little crushings on Eric Dill. heh!

Image
nice guitar eh?

my roommate kinda stresses me out too.
she studies so hard and she remembers.
me? i read, i reread, i forget.
i feel pathetic at the moment.

i really cant wait for exams to be over.
and my life to begin. out of the cave i so expertly built for myself out of papers and books.
if only there was a way for me to stuff myself with info. hmmm, nice ice blended contract law, anyone?

Image

anyway, thats my update. nothing interesting really.

superhero tales

my blog can be said to be non-functional for some time with 1 post per month, its quite sad. havent had the time nor the inspiration to write anything or draw for that matter.
been having writer's block as well as artist's block. and my head is full of CPR part 1, CPR part 3 and so forth.
its kinda driving me insane.
for those who faithfully click my name or my blog site, i finally have something to write about. yay?

so, aside from being in a house with house-mates going in and out of the hospital because of dengue for the past few weeks, (they have all gotten better, just so you all know, no need to worry) i have found myself to be somewhat anti-social, sweating and a little bit delirious.
i like my new place, its nearer to uni though not near enough for me to not enter the classroom sweating. blast this humid weather!

anyway, just today i woke up to an sms concerning banana leaf. and it woke me up straight away =D
i'm always hungry and i like me that way. though i must say that it does burn holes in your pocket.
exams are not too far off. so excuse the dark circles and zombie face of mine. if i say hi to you looking pasty, its because i hide myself in the comforts of my kinda sauna-like-room for most of my free time.
i took time last night to have a hot cup of green tea. it was kinda thick so was not as nice i remember green tea to be. didnt keep me up but at least i know that its healthy. =D

in continuation to my story of the day. i woke up, took my shower, realized that i was kinda itching at my neck area. but i was too drowsy to care. my arm had a red dot which i didnt bother either. did all the morning routines and changed, check emails and stared into outer space, waiting for yummy banana leaf.
nearer to lunch time, i changed into my going-out-clothes, only to realize that the red dot on my arm was an insect bite. and then kinda check my neck, to my HORROR, there were another THREE insect bites in a very oddly sci-fi triangle position. they itched but they werent like CRAZY itchy so, it wasnt so bad. phew!

just a couple of hours ago, i found out there is another one on my ear. this bug is crazy man. werent my neck and arm enough? my ear too? i'll probably have super powers by tomorrow. i hope i can fly and ran really fast. heh! or maybe super sonic voice ability since it bit my neck and like super good hearing, since it bit my ear too. my arm leh, hmm, super fast writing ability for law papers? but then maybe to be more realistic i'll most probably be this :

Image

seeing that exams are so near. =(
oh, did i mention that the bug preferred my left side? all the red dots are on my left side. weird.
i wonder why i didnt feel anything last night, probably slept like a log as usual.

fuh! long post, probably because of the deprivation. haha.

visual assistant

hello people, its been a month, been pretty stressed out. but its cool
anyway, you know how catalogues always have pictures, its always better to see how the item looks like before actually purchasing them.

and i know i've been talking a lot about properties.
i really think its a good investment.
so i thought why not look at some pictures to like induce me further.
but i also need the money, but no harm scouting places early right? hehe

so, for those who are pretty interested you can look at some property photos
i must say some pictures are really nice.
awesome angle which lets you see what you want to see.
there are also multiple pictures for each property. so you really get to see the place right in the comfort of your home.
this works really well for people not living in that particular area but want to invest in that particular place.

though i must also say that certain pictures are not as professional as others.
while properties in KL are more adequately stocked with pictures other places are not.
a good point to note is that they also show facilities available as well as the furnishings of the place.
which i think is better than just stating it.
i have to say that i would like to have a little brief description of the picture
like a caption so as to know what it is eg. master room bathroom.
because i wouldnt really know.
again, only members are allowed to contact the person in charge,
it would be nice to not have to register to use the facilities on the site.
but i guess if you're really interested you'll register.

i've always been a visual person, so this really helps.
and it is also good to know what to expect before considering and deciding or going to place to see for that matter.
all in all, it was quite useful and interesting.
some properties are really awesome =D
so, i do recommend you visit it.
till next time

when in the movies

a big shout out to february babies. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
i know there were a few =D

Image

anyway, as the title above would have made it pretty obvious to you readers,
im here to tell you my top 5 things NOT to do in the cinema.
you see, saturday's movie with my cousin and former college mate would have been great if not for the beyond irritating couple next to me. it was like they had a last minute spontaneous urge to watch a chinese movie which im pretty sure they neither understood nor paid attention to.

so, without further delay, my top 5 cinema ethics.

5. Never come late when you have seats in the center. this is especially important in movies with a lot of dialogue or action. i really dont want to see your behind even if it is for a few seconds. worst, if you cant find your seats and keep changing positions.

4. Never answer your phone and talk for half the movie. i think this goes without saying. if you have to, talk outside if it is very urgent or say you'll call back later in a whisper, if not so important.

3. When eating popcorn or slurping drinks, eat or slurp softly. didnt your mother teach you manners? i think a lot of people would appreciate it if you didnt go "chomp chomp chomp, slurp slurp slurp" in the cinema.

2. When in the movies, and if you need to open your legs really wide, please go and buy 2 seats, so that you dont go banging other people's leg. its not only annoying, its unhygienic especially for people like me. i really dont know where those pants of yours went rubbing against. *shivers*

and of course the BIG no. ONE

1. Please please PLEASE dont talk in the cinema. i really dont need commentaries throughout the duration of the movie. and if you really have to be all lovey dovey and ber-dating in the cinema, go sit in like a secluded area far from watchful eyes and attentive ears and also from people like me who actually wants to watch the movie in peace. go buy those couple seats, i heard they are big and comfy.

fuh! anger management.
im not being demanding, i just want my money to be worth it.
free from unwanted noises and irritating disturbances.
to that couple who sat next to me on saturday night and irritated the crap out of me, i really hope you dont find another poor soul to torture. once is truely enough.

Looking for a room?

Image

being a foreigner in a foreign place, especially for one who plans to stay for a long period of time,
or being a student in a foreign country can be quite a daunting journey. for me included.
we always get very excited and everything. preparing, packing and planning.
so, what do we do first before anything else?
i say, find a room.

i stumbled across something interesting - rooms for rent in Singapore. so i thought that it would be useful to some of us who are planning to study in Singapore. having a home, well in this case a room to come back to is pretty important especially for students. we need our own space, you see =D

so, what does the website help with?
the first thing i thought was that the homepage was pretty simple. with a map of Singapore in front. pretty decent.
then at the right hand, there is a side bar with places around Singapore, which i thought was pretty cool, at least they separated it for you. and by clicking the place we are mostly likely to be interested in when it comes to renting a room was definitely important. better than going through the whole list.

the web page provided a lot of information i must say. there is a wide range of rooms to choose from and prices are reasonable. prices i think i would pay if i was studying in Singapore and didnt have a place to stay after my 1st year. and it provides information about public transport that are nearby and facilities available as well. contract details are adequate. however, to contact the specific person from the web page itself for more information requires you be a member of the web page. it might be pretty inconvenient for people who just want to ask a few questions about the place but dont really want to register.
what i thought lacked was pictures, i thought that more pictures would be better as we want to know how the place looks like before committing to anything.
the web page is user-friendly and is easy to explore. its pretty straight forward and makes finding things easy.

overall, i would say, its a useful web page and would definitely benefit students and other people intending to rent a room in Singapore. i'll recommend this website to people, definitely =D

spooked

have you been scared?
i bet i'll be right in saying that everyone is scared of at least one thing.
im no different.
im pretty much scared of most things

im scared of frogs, lizards, snakes, snails, leeches, slugs
im scared of falling, getting hit, getting bitten
im scared of food in tubes, like those salmon in tubes?
but maybe im not scared about the tubes thing but more like weird out from the fact that salmon can come out from a tube. not really natural you see.
the only thing that i can accept coming out from tubes, that i'll put into my mouth, is toothpaste.
and maybe sauces, like ketchup.

im even scared of my own dog. how weird is that? my own dog. heh heh

Image

i just watched seven pounds.
only at the end i figured out that our hearts weigh seven pounds.
nice show, quite sad, i got all choked up, but i didnt spill. =D

jump jump, points at fireworks

new year resolutions?
i havent thought of any

one thing i know,
i dont want the holidays to end
though its inevitable. =(

i need to get out more.
i want to listen to more good music,
read more good books,
write more,
listen more,
play more,
draw more,
work harder,
and have fun all the while.
i guess that's part of a new year resolution huh?!

i really hope this year will be as good as 2009 if not better!

As we approach a New Year, i thought we could do with a bit of good advice,
"when in deadly danger,
when beset by doubt,
run in little circles, wave your arms and shout
'Happy 2010 everyone'"

HAPPY NEW YEAR people!! =)
