Hey Y'all!

It's been a good week here in Kentuckiana. We had a great Thanksgiving
with a few members and did some rocking awesome service helping
members clear land. Got super dirty and it was tons of fun.

Sorry don't have a lot of time today. Love and miss y'all.

Hey Y'all!

It's been a crazy hot minute here in Kentuckiana. We had a lot happen
this week.

Zone Conference was this week. It was great. We had to drive to
Evansville (2hrs) in the pouring rain. But it was so fun. President
Hughes is the best and we had some great trainings. We also got to
switch cars with the Arcadia elders. Poor suckers. So we got rid of
the menace of a car. It was kind of interesting for a while because
everything in the new car was in Spanish. Luckily Sister Mitchell knew
enough to find and switch the settings. And ended the day with chick
fil a.

We blitzed the area with the elders this week too. Elder Woodside our
district leader, Elder Herman, and Elder Markus came down. We had a
big comp Study where we practiced teaching them the Plan of Salvation,
and then we went out and worked our area. It was great. Sister
Mitchell and I went up to a trailer park area and really prayed to
find someone who would listen. As we got out we found a shiny heads up
penny. And we ended up finding multiple people that set return
appointments with us. It was the most success we've seen in weeks. We
ended the day with 5 new investigators and multiple other return
appointments. When we were talking about how crazy that success was
after weeks of trying and nothing happening, sister Mitchell said it
was "a prayer and a penny".

We had Stake Conference this weekend, where they reorganized the stake
presidency. It was a ton of fun getting to sing in the choir. We had
two members of the 70 come and Elder Kopischke is German so Sister
Mitchell got to talk to him for a while. The spirit was so strong as
he spent the hours talking about our need to be truly converted to the
gospel and how to help others. It was awesome being able to watch it
from the stand. There were many people who's hearts were touched and
it was cool to see how the spirit worked. The gospel is awesome!

Also if y'all didn't get to see the face to face with Elder Oaks and
Elder Ballard, you need to. It was amazing and it's awesome to hear
them speak of topics and concerns very specific to many young adults
today. Pretty cool.

So exciting for thanksgiving this week. There are so many great things
I am so grateful for. All of you are definitely included in that. Have
a wonderful weekend!

I love you!!

Nov 6th 2017

Good Morning Y'all!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! We are not allowed to
proselyte after 6, so we went to Sarah and Leonard's. They made a big
roast and we went and got blizzards. So it was a pretty fun day.

We did more fun service this week. We were helping clean out this big
garage. It's kind of hilarious watching Sister Mitchell freak out over
the spiders. The elders tried chasing her with a dead one and she was
almost crying till I came to rescue her. Laughing the entire time of
course. She's going to have to get used to it though, there are A LOT
of bugs here. And almost all of them bite, even the stinking
butterflies bite. But yeah it was a ton of fun. We also helped put up
walls in someone else's garage this week and built shelving. I love
all the projects we get to do. This one lady has a "She Shed" like you
see on tv or Facebook or whatever, just full of crafting supplies. She
has enough crafting supplies to restock an entire store. It's pretty
cute though.

Another cool little story. We were out tracting one afternoon and as
we were walking we found a penny! A heads up penny, which means good
luck. And at the next house we tried nobody answered, but we found 2
more heads up pennies! So we knew something good was on this street.
So we kept knocking. Then as we were almost done Sister Mitchell
really felt like she needed to go back and contact the guy who was
working on a potential investigators house that we tried a few minutes
before. She was super nervous to do it, but we don't ignore spiritual
promptings so we marched back up to the house. The guy was pretty nice
and said that his uncle was just talking about us and he thought it
was interesting that we just showed up right after. He took a Book of
Mormon but had to get back to work. So not some crazy giant miracle,
just a small one, but an awesome one none the less. As small as 3
little pennies. It was so cool to see Sister Mitchell experience the
blessings of following promptings even if it seems awkward or scary at
first. I just love this gospel, God is sooo good.

On Friday we got to spend some time with the Blackwell's. We helped
them paddle fudge and then take that and some other goodies to some of
the less actives or struggling members. It was a ton of fun.

Sunday night we survived a tornado. It was storming really bad with
heavy winds and lots of lightning. We were in bed and I was watching
and listening to the storms, they were pretty, but we're getting
strong. Around 11 our phone starts going off and once I saw it was
the Blackwells I figured it was a tornado. Sure enough I barely picked
it up and said hello when the sirens started going off. Jeff told us
to get there now so we grabbed a jacket and flew to their house. We
watched lightning strike the court house tower over and over as we
drove, it was actually really cool. We just hung out in there basement
for a while until they gave the all clear and we headed home. On the
way home we ended up having to do some crazy maneuvers because they
had trees, power lines, street lights, and even the rail road crossing
things down on the roads. So lots of exciting things. Obviously we
were completely safe though.

Spiritual thought for the week is titled: A Signal Through the Storm,
from President Monson.
"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise;
when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me." Micah 7:8
"Look to the lighthouse of the Lord. There is no fog so dense, no
night so dark, no gale so strong, no mariner so lost but what it's
beacon light can rescue. It beckons through the storms of life. The
lighthouse of the Lord sends forth signals readily recognized and
never failing".

Love Yall! Have a wonderful week!
And happy birthday bubba!!!
