I Passed!

Well I passed another final for school. This time for my Reasoning and Problem Solving class. I didn't think that I passed when I left the test. My mentor emailed me a few days later and said I got 88%! I am pretty thrilled about it! So I have officially completed 12 units since November 1st. I just added on Math for another 5 units. I am doing lots of homework and having flashbacks to High School math and wishing that I could remember more of what I learned. Hopefully, all will go well with Math and I will finish before the end of my term at the end of April. My thrill for the week of course was going to Staples and buying a scientific calculator. Woo Hoo!

PS I also passed my History final a few weeks ago too!

2009

Well I wish I had something more exciting to say but my life these days revolves around studying! I have officially completed 6 units of school since November 1st and should be done with 6 more in the next few weeks.

I was able to meet up with my Mom, Aunt Nancy and Aunt Sue in Casa Grande Arizona. I had a couple of firsts on this trip. I shot on the green in two shots which I couldn't believe! That happened on quite a few holes! The next was that I shot par on one whole. Now for those of you who follow golf I am sure this seems like nothing but I am just learning to golf. My sister Kim got me these really cool Woods that are working great and I got a Swing Analysis done a couple months ago. I am going to say my improvement was because of the clubs but who knows. I went from hitting around 25 to 50 feet to now being able to hit 125 to 150 feet. Very amazing to me.

That's all for now! Back to studying History for my final on Monday!

Back to School

Well I started back to school online through Western Governors University on November 1st. I am taking a giant leap out of my comfort zone to get my degree to become a school teacher. After my summer working with the Girl Scouts I was trying to find a job that would allow me to work Monday through Friday. I am not quite sure what took me so long to figure that I should become a teacher like my Mom.

I am signed up for 12 units and have (just about) finished 3 of those units in 30 days. I am making pretty good progress. Reading textbooks online is taking some getting used to but I am adjusting.

Cross your fingers for me...this really is WAY out of my element!

Make new friends, but keep the old - one is silver and the other GOLD!

This post is dedicated to my GOLD friends Emily, Chelsea and Tammy! We relived our teenage years on Saturday night and went to see NEW Kids on the BLOCK! It was awesome!! We screamed like 12 year old girls and had the best time!! It was so much fun screaming and yelling and jumping up and down. I am still hurting but it was too much fun. To see the pictures click on Emily's link on the left side!! I will remember that night for the rest of my life! Life is too short not to relive your teenage years with your best friends!! What can I say...we've got the RIGHT Stuff baby!

Getting Canned!

I have reached a new level in my domestication and I have been canned. Actually I took a chance yesterday and made and CANNED Apple Butter Jam. I altered my Grandma's recipe a little and I was really worried about how it would turn out. Well the verdict is in from Marcos...."It's Awesome". I wasn't sure if he was just saying that to make me feel good so I tried it myself and sure enough...it is awesome! I have never canned anything myself and I had only seen it done. I have to say it wasn't as hard as I thought. Thanks to my friend Steff for the moral support over the phone about how the lid should pop. I am glad to say that all four of the jars I made wound up sealing so we are safe! I did go and purchase one of those cool peeler things so that I wouldn't have to peel all the apples again!

Birthday's

ImageOn Friday the 26th was my brother Mark's 36th birthday. Where has the time gone. This picture was taken of us when I was in kindergarten so Mark must have been in 3rd grade. I'm in my "sunshine makes me happy" shirt and he is in his Jogging shirt. We have come a long way since then! Happy Birthday Mark!!

My oldest and dearest friend Emily celebrated her 33rd birthday on Monday the 29th. Wow, where does the time go? Seems like just yesterday we were sitting on the swing in her backyard eating Lays Sour Cream and Onion potato chips and saying "bet you can't eat just one". Happy Birthday Em!

The Bonnie Hunt Show!

Image
On Thursday my Aunt Nancy and I went to see a taping of the Bonnie Hunt show in Culver City. We had a really great time! The Bonnie Hunt show has been on for just a few weeks now but I love it. Bonnie takes time to talk to her guests and is really funny! Go to www.bonniehunt.com to find out what time her show airs where you live. I actually tape the show everyday because she gets her guests to tell great stories rather than just plugging their next project. Sometimes they get talking so much they forget to talk about the series/movie they are there to promote.

We got to see Allison Janney (West Wing and 9 to 5 the Musical) as well as jeweler to the stars Neil Lane. The show aired on Friday the 26th. We also everyone in the audience got MAGIC BULLET Blenders. I already have one but you never know when you will need a 2nd blender!
