Louisa May Alcott and Battle Road

Image
We went to see the Orchard House Museum; Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women in.
Image

This is a map of battle road, which is where the shot heard round the world started the Revolutionary War in 1775. Red Coats marched toward Concord to take guns from the militia but were met with men who heard about the shots in Boston and were ready to fight back.
Image
Visitor's center at North Bridge where the first British soldiers died.
Image
You can see the bridge where the Colonists and Red Coats faced each other. The Red Coats turned and fled back towards Boston but were ambushed all the way back to Boston by the Colonists. About 100 British died and 49 Americans died.
Image
We watched a 20 minute video of what happened on this day to start our country out towards independence from Britain. I love history and loved seeing Lexington Road where all of this happened, between Boston and Concord, MA.

Walden's Pond and Backyard Fun

Image
Today we went about 20 minutes to Concord and went to Walden's Pond.
Image
We got into the water and played in the sand for about 2 hours.
Image
I went all the way around the pond, about 2 miles, and saw the site of Thoreau's little cabin in the woods.
Image
 We played some frisbee.
Image
This is the trail that goes all the way around.
Image
That evening we played in the backyard.
