Reality – What Do You See #321

Posted on

This image shows a scene from a railway station. The platform on the photographer’s side is empty, and you can see a train on the opposite side, leaving, engulfed in smoke/fog.

This image shows a crescent moon, also known as the “Moon Cradle”. The large crescent moon is hanging low in the sky, over the peak of a small mountain. The clouds in the sky are in different shades of grey!

Wait

One by one,
fellow travelers
went their separate ways,
for respective destinations.
I am waiting
for my train.
Long wait
On the empty platform
So unnerving.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reality

As a child,
I thought
If I climbed the mountain,
I would be able to catch the moon.
Now that I can climb it
The moon moves miles away.
Those who have been to the moon have told us
that the reality is not what our eyes see
But no matter what anyone says,
We are still captivated by its beauty.
Distant things always seem beautiful,
or perhaps
We simply don’t want to step
outside our familiarity zone.

 Confusion

On my way to the morning walk
I met a centipede
Walking leisurely in the park

I was curious
"Which foot do you move first?"
As soon as he heard me
He stopped in his tracks
He scratched his head, moving his head side to side,
He tried very hard but could not decide.
I moved on, leaving him there, searching for an answer.
On my way back
I saw it was still there, scratching its head.
I asked, "What is the matter, dear, still unsure?
"I was walking before without doubt or confusion, but
Which foot to put forward is now my delusion, and this is the cause of my strife."
It eyed me with disgust and said:
"Some people can’t make the right move themselves
but are busy creating confusion in others' lives."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The lonely kitten went for  a jog
Couldn't find her way back due to dense fog
When lost and tired
A dog, she hired
And rolled on his back like a damp log

“A moody DC3 plane wreck sits stranded on the vast black sand of Sólheimasandur Beach in Iceland.” The wreckage is white, the background features hazy, dark mountains, and the sky is filled with clouds.

Whose conspiracy?
Nature’s or the sabotagers’?
Who will bear witness?

Deaf and dumb mountains,
Clouds, vast black sand, they know all
Mute spectators

Trying Times~ Mindlovemisery’sMenagerie

In trying times,
Playing the victim never helps.
It increases stress and anxiety.
Staying calm under pressure,
Facing problems patiently,
Because it leads to solutions.
Trusting in your resilience,
The help of wise people,
Lifts you above
All problems.
Seems difficult?
But
There is no other way,
Whether your problems are your own,
Or someone else's,
You have to find the solution yourself,
Because
God helps those who help themselves.

Missing Lamb – What Do You See #320

Missing Lamb

Grey lamb, white lamb!
Where is the black one?

She went out with
Three bags of wool
As a winter gift to the needy
Nothing for her master,
who was very greedy
She gave one to the poor dame,

Who keeps shivering from the cold
And one for her little boy, who is lame
So the master got angry
He locked her in the pen
We are also missing her
But we can’t leave this den

(With apologies to the original rhyme writer of ‘ Baa Baa black sheep…’)

(Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes, sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.

One for the master,
One for the dame,
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane?

Its A Goat’s Life

If I can have my way
They will be in the barn
Eating only my hay
For freedom, they will yearn
Me, outside, roaming free
With my long-lost flock
Plans we will chalk
Still, no vengeance spree
I know danger, lurking outside
But it’s not safe either inside
Death awaits both ways
Silently counting my days

W3 Prompt #190- A Pagan? Yes, I am.

Posted on

This week, Sally is our PoW for W3 Prompt #190 I have selected the line A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn’ from the great poet, Wordsworth’s poem ‘ The World Is Too Much With Us’.

A Pagan? Yes, I am.

A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
By any criticism, I’m not torn
God particle in everything I see
By grace, I sculpt idols to worship thee
Of all that reminds me of your blessing to me
Of the incarnations, protected me
Let those who want to laugh, laugh, or mock me
But they can’t shake my faith or deter me
Yes, I’m a Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
Know nothing how to show my gratitude
Except sculpt idols and pray in platitude
You may hate, but for protection, I’m sworn
This universe is as much inside me,
As much as it exists outside me.
