This was back in October, but Gavin learned to do a somersault.  It's so funny, I can't believe he can get his little body over his big head!  Here's a video:

Oregon 2012

In August we went to Oregon again. My sister's husband was working there, so my parents got a beach house and 2 of my 3 siblings came and we vacationed together.  It is always fun to go back since this was our vacation spot growing up, and there are lots of fun memories from there.  It's fun to share with Gavin and Ammon now!  We had a wonderful time.  

Day 1:  Mostly traveling, we flew into PDX then drove out to the Coast.  We ate a late lunch because Gavin fell asleep in the car and we wanted him to have his nap.  Then we walked down to the beach from the rental, and let Gavin dig his toes and fingers in the sand.  He couldn't decide if he liked it or not.  

Day 2:  I can't remember much detail about day 2.  We walked in all the touristy trinket shops in Depoe Bay, and met this guy in one of the fudge/candy shops.  Gavin liked to pat him. We enjoyed our first of many seafood meals... Clam chowder. mmm!  Tasya and Chris arrived that night so we had fun with them too.

Day 3:  We drove to Newport and hit Mo's (a famous seafood restaurant), and walked fisherman's wharf and watched the sea lions barking at each other.  Then we headed to the Aquarium, a cool lighthouse, and Devils Cauldron. 

They have a section of it set up for kids so they can touch everything and climb on and crawl in, act like they are in a fish market, play in the sand, etc. Gavin obviously loved it.  

Day 4:  We did some outlet shopping (Gavin found this bus and insisted he and Grandma stay there most of the time),  and later on we headed to the beach for a little while.

Day 5:  This was the big beach day since it was our last day before we headed home.  We had lots of fun (despite the chilly weather and wind)!  

Day 6:  We flew out in the morning and were home that afternoon.  It was a great vacation, as always, thank you Oregon.
