Our New Addition

Image

We got a new puppy added to our family! He is a Chihuahua and we named him Oliver. He is so cute and such a sweet puppy. We kept seeing him at the pet store but he started out at $1499 and there was no way we were going to do credit to get a puppy. He was there for 2 months and in that 2 months we held up about 6 times...always surprised he was still there because he is so cute and sweet! So I went in one saturday and they would only offer him for $500 and that was still too much so she said the lady who does the pricing comes in on Monday. On Monday the store called and said he was $288!! I said "OK- HOLD HIM!!" It was still more than we wanted to pay but it was a good deal.

We were nervous about him and Jasper getting along but as I type this they are playing and be the best of friends! Jasper was a little unsure about Oliver at first and did not know how to react to this tiny thing jumping on him...but they get along great now! I think Jasper likes having someone to play with and the puppy absolutely LOVES Jasper...his tail wags when he sees him! Here are some pictures- Im just so glad it is working out so well!

Texas Storms

Image
So Wednesday night we had horrible storms here in Texas. The wind was 70-80mph and tons of rain and some reported tornados. Robert and I were safe here and thankfully our power did not go out..just on/off. My poor parents on the other hand lost their beautiful, huge tree in the front yard. This picture is crazy to me..I grew up in this house and that is just how I picture my parent's home is with 2 big trees on either side of their front yard. I know it is just a tree but it is sad knowing it is gone and that it won't look the same.

The tree when it uprooted broke the water pipes underneath and so my parents were without water until yesterday afternoon when they got a temporary water pipe over ground. But if it makes them feel better the Plano Star Courier Newspaper put their picture of the tree on the front page of the paper today!! I am probably going over to my parents today and will look at it...so sad!

Just grateful that all of my family in the area and in longview are safe and had no life threatening problems during this crazy storm!

Rockwall Lake

Image
Image
Robert had to work on Valentine's day this year so friday night we went to The Harbor which is in Rockwall off Lake Ray Hubbard. It is basically a little strip mall with restaurants right off the lake- it was really pretty and nice to be by water! The sunset was Amazing and we had a nice time! We ate at Gloria's Mexican restaurant and then walked around for a little bit. We actually did not see many stores so it was not as big as we thought it would be but we enjoyed ourselves. I am grateful that Robert is my Valentine- he is truly my best friend and I love every minute we are together! I love him SO much!!

Missionary Homecomming

Image
Image

So this post is a little late but my baby brother Lewis just got home from his mission in Honduras!!! I am SO excited he is home and we no longer have any family members on missions- everyone is home safe!! He got home February 2nd. I was so excited all day at work to go see him. When my Dad and I got to the airport I could see them (lewis, mom, eric) at the baggage claim already. So balloons in hand, as soon as the sliding doors opened into the airport- I ran full speed to Lewis and yelled his name and then ran up to him and gave him a HUGE hug!! It was fun and it was funny because everyone was looking at him...which was my point...so mission accomplished!! He looks wonderful! So happy and full of the spirit and very positive- definitely seen a positive change in him from when he left to now. It is nice to have him home!!

Military storys make me cry!!

Image
So I just read this article on Yahoo and these stories always make me tear up! This little 6 year old boy had a birthday party at school and there was a big present there for him and when he opened it up it was his Dad in a box. His Dad is in the military and is on a two week leave from Iraq during his 2nd tour...I can just imagine the little boy's face when he saw his dad. Does Anyone else get teary eyed when they watch soldiers come home to their families?!?! Surely I am not the only one!
I just wanted to share this sweet story. I am so grateful for our soldiers and for the sacrifice they make each and every day for our nation's safety. No matter what your political beliefs are and if you think we should/shouldn't be fighting right now...we are and those soldiers are sacrificing their lives and being away from their families for a year at a time, sometimes more for our country. God Bless America!!

THIS WEEK

Well this past week has been long, tiring, but good! I have started full-time at my job and am actually loving it. I wake up glad to go to work and blessed that I have such a wonderful job that I love. I enjoy being around everyone there and it's fun to get to work and chat with friends at the same time! This week I started working in the front office half of the time and while the first day was crazy with it being monday morning...I survived and now enjoy it! The Phones though...they will NOT stop ringing on mondays especially so I got so overwhelmed trying to deal with messages and appointments while the phone kept going but I got it all figured out finally and survived!!
Robert has been sick all week though with upper respiratory stuff but thankfully has finally started to get better yesterday!! Our schedules are tough though because we barely see each other. I work all day and then 3 nights a week he has class so I don't see him till 9pm and by then I'm tired and just want to sleep from a busy day!!! And his part-time job he works on the weekends so there goes that! But it's okay, we will work something out!!
That's all of my ranting about the week!!

Home from California

It was bitter-sweet to come home from my wonderful trip to California...I totally could have stayed another week...but only if Robert had been there for that week! As much fun as I had it is always so nice to come home and be back with Robert and sleep in my own bed. In California we went to a lot of different places. My sister lives in Sacramento so I got to see some that city and then we went to Tahoe to see the snow..which was basically ice but fun, and then we went to San Francisco and also went to Napa Valley/Sonoma and saw the wine country which is so pretty and the beach..and then took Wyatt to the Sonoma Train Town which is a little amusement park for kids that has a couple rides and then a train ride that goes around the little park. It was just so nice to see my sister and wyatt and get to spend a whole week with them..I barely get to see them like maybe once a year so it was so nice!! Wyatt is already 2 1/2 and he is just getting so big and so smart and SO fun to play with! Here are some pics!!
