christmas crafty.

I spent a little time over Christmas break being a little crafty. 

I need to be crafty more often. It's good for my soul. 

 The J has been on our mantel since we moved in. I added the O and Y for Christmas and decorated them all up a bit. (Plus a couple I made for friends. Easy and happy.)

I started a Christmas card scrapbook several years ago...

I always start with our picture and letter for each year...

Then just add in the picture cards we get each year and write the names if they aren't included on the card...

My scrapbook got filled up in 2010 and I wasn't sure if I wanted to start a new scrapbook or try something new. I had seen this idea on Pinterest and a blog I follow and decided to try it. I love it!

 I really like this idea now because so many people are doing cards with pictures on both sides. 

I still include ours in the front, but I need to figure out a way to include our letter from each year. They need shrunk down and laminated, I think. 

I also got my little Halloween scrapbook all updated... 

It starts in 2002, with a 17 day old Baby Sophie...

2005...

2006...

2009... an 11 day old Baby Gretchen...

Some years only have 2 pages. Some years have 4 or 6. It just depends on the year. (and how many cute pictures I get!)

We all love to look back through this little scrapbook!
What I love most about it is that it is actually up to date! (Unlike every other scrapbook I own.)
Someday, right? =)

pajama breakfast.

Second year for this fun tradition. 

It was a little easier last year, when the Meneley's could just walk across the street, but grateful they were willing to make the drive out to the farm. (We invited two other families this year, but it ended up being just the 9 of us again.)

 The fun straws are always the kids' favorite part. 

No one said a pajama breakfast has to be healthy... (we also had sausage/egg muffins and banana bread)

Love the friendship that these kiddos have. Who would have guessed it when Meagan and I were growing up together 30+ years ago. =)

Marley was pretty happy to have some of her favorite people around again...

Dallas had her in a trance before too long... =)

And, of course, a sweet gift basket put together by Meagan. She's one of the most thoughtful people ever. So glad I get to call her my friend.

Someone *finally* warmed up to Uncle Casey. {only took her 4 years...} Fuzzy pictures, but too cute not to share. =)
