1. Best Book You Read In 2011?
Honestly, this question can’t be answered with just one option! The list is much longer, but here are my top five.
Honestly, this question can’t be answered with just one option! The list is much longer, but here are my top five.
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
2. Most Disappointing Book/Book You Wish You Loved More Than You Did?
Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer. I loved Nightshade so much! The plot, the characters, the unique werewolf transformations and myth, that I went to read Wolfsbane with high expectations which just ended plummeting, crashing, and dissolving into nothing. This was the first bad review I wrote and oddly enough it's the one that has most likes on Goodreads.
3. Most surprising (in a good way!) book of 2011?
Surprising as in I didn’t know what I was getting into but holy crap what a treasure I have just found…Yeah, that’s Tankborn by Karen Sandler. Totally blew my mind away. I’m still waiting to get a hardcover of this, as the one I read is an ebook ARC.
4. Book you recommended to people most in 2011?
The Hunger Games! Recommended to all my friends (even those that don’t read). Made my mom read them and she loved them. She’s now as excited as me about the movie. lol
5. Best series you discovered in 2011?
So many awesome series!!!

5. Best series you discovered in 2011?
So many awesome series!!!
The Iron Fey
6. Favorite new authors you discovered in 2011?
Oh man, I basically discovered everyone this year. Richelle Mead, JeriSmith-Ready, Brenda Pandos, Rachel Vincent, Julie Kagawa, Tahereh Mafi, Lia Habel, Marissa Meyer, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Veronica Roth, Amy Plum, and Nicole Peeler…I am sure I’m missing some of them, but the list is too long!
7. Best book that was out of your comfort zone or was a new genre for you?
I don’t read horror which includes zombies, but I so loved Dearly Beloved by Lia Habel! I know those are not the typical scary zombies, but it still was out of my comfort zone reading something with zombies in it.
8. Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2011?

Divergent by Veronica Roth and Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Literally unputdownable. I know this because I stayed overnight just to finish them ^__^'
9. Book you most anticipated in 2011?
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
I read the entire Vampire Academy series and I just wanted, nay, needed more Adrian Ivashkov! Sydney turned out to be an amazing heroine too. I identified with many aspects of her personality, which was surprising given that I didn't much care for her during Vampire Academy.
10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2011?
Everblue by Brenda Pandos.
Yeah, I know there probably are awesome-er covers out there, but when I first read the question this one popped into my head.
And damnit I still want a hardcopy of the book, since the one I got is an ebook.
11. Most memorable character in 2011?
♥ Tod Hudson ♥
I've always imagined him to be somewhat like Garret Hedlund. lol What do you think?
12. Most beautifully written book read in 2011?
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. The prose in this book just blew my mind.
13. Book that had the greatest impact on you in 2011?
Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready. I laughed, I screamed, I raged, I cried like a baby, and I swear to you I’ve never cried so hard because of a book in my life! It’s just so beautifully heart wrenching.
14. Book you can't believe you waited UNTIL 2011 to finally read?
The Hunger Games! Believe it or not I read them at the start of this year and I could NOT believe I’d never pick them up before. In fact, I’d seen them around and actually ignored them! Shame on me.

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2011?
Too many! It’s why I always post a couple of favorite quotes after each book. I usually go for the humor ones or the romantic ones. Here are a couple of epic ones.
Reaction to main romantic interest appearing:
“Oh, Hell. Must. Mate. Immediately.” ~ Daughter of Smoke and Bone
Declaration of love:
“You are my heart, my life, my entire existence.” ~ The Iron Queen
Advice that made me laugh:
“Just because a guy rings your bell, doesn’t mean you have to toot his horn.”
~ Born at Midnight
Best WTF expression:
“What the holy hand grenade was that?” ~ Starcrossed
16. Book That You Read In 2011 That Would Be Most Likely To Reread In 2012?
Divergent and Obsidian will probably get a quick re-read not only because they’re fabulous, but because their sequels will be released in 2012 and it never hurts to refresh my memory.
17. Book That Had A Scene In It That Had You Reeling And Dying To Talk To Somebody About It? (a WTF moment, an epic revelation, a steamy kiss, etc. etc.) Be careful of spoilers!
The ending of Sweet Venom had me wanting to run to the nearest person and talk about the whole book even if they didn’t know what the hell I was talking about.
18. New favorite book blog you discovered in 2011?
I discovered book blogging this year! So of my fave blogs so far are:
19. Favorite review that you wrote in 2010?
I love the set of reviews I wrote for Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series. I think I poured my heart out into them.
The Iron King - The Iron Daughter - The Iron Queen - The Iron Knight

I discovered the fabulous NetGalley and Paperbackswap.
22. Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year?
There was the Paranormal Reading Challenge in October, and I completed it with 15 books. And the Goodreads challenge which I initially set to 50 books since I started seriously reading in August. When I completed the 50 in October, I raised it to 100. So far I’ve ended up reading 130 and counting!
23. One Book You Didn't Get To In 2011 But Will Be Your Number 1 Priority in 2012?
Actually there are three:
The Outcasts (Brotherband 1) by John Flanagan: his Ranger's Apprentice series is just fantastic and this one is set in the same world. I can't wait to read what adventures await this new set of characters.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern: I've been following her blog for a while and she's an energetic ball of fun and crazy. I hope to see all of that translated into her writing!
Hourglass by Myra McEntire: The support and enthusiasm Emerson received in the Heroines Tournament convinced me that this is a must read book.
24. Book You Are Most Anticipating For 2012?
24. Book You Are Most Anticipating For 2012?

God Lord have I tried getting an ARC of the thing and I couldn’t!
25. One Thing You Hope To Accomplish Or Do In Your Reading/Blogging In 2012?
I hope to get more followers because more followers will hopefully mean more comments which lead to happy book discussions! Which is why I started a book blog in the first place ;)

is:
♥ Funny
[Alex]“Okay. I’m ready to move onto something else, like practicing with knives or defense against the dark arts. Cool things.”[Aiden] “Did you just quote Harry Potter?”
♥ Snarky
“Was your mom a gardener?” I asked innocently.
“What?” Ren’s mouth hung open slightly.
“Because a face like yours belongs planted on the ground.”
♥ Not afraid to speak her mind
"That was the plan? To kill her before I found out she was alive?" My voice grew louder with each word. "You preach to me about trusting you? How in the hell can I trust you now?"
♥ A capable fighter
The daimon grasped my shoulder, and I let instinct take over. I twisted around, catching the surprise flickering across his pale face a split second before I kicked. My foot connected with the side of his head. The impact sent him staggering into the opposite wall. I spun around, slamming my hand into him. Surprise turned to horror as the daimon looked down at the garden spade burried deep in his stomach.
♥ A survivor
"…She was self-centered, irresponsible—"
"She was everything to me!" I jumped to my feet. "She did nothing but think of me! What happened to her was horrific—'tragic' is for people who die in car wrecks!"
♥ Brave
My legs didn't shake when I stood. Certainty filled my mind—maybe it'd been made up the night I heard what'd really happened to her. There was a small chance she hadn't committed horrific crimes, but if...if the daimon who had been [---] had killed someone, then one way or another, I was going to kill her. She was my responsibility now—my problem.
♥ Passionate
Everything could come to a crashing end for us if we were caught, but it didn’t matter. Right now, being with him seemed worth whatever consequence could come from it. This was right, like it was meant to be. There was no logical explanation for it.
♥ Wild
My bitch switch was flipped and, well, my sense of self-preservation went right out the window.

(Covenant 2)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
April 3, 2012
Amazon ♥ B&N ♥ TBD
There is need. And then there is Fate...
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.
When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.
When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.
