It's Christmas time in the city!

Ryan had an anesthesia conference in NYC so we decided to go with him since the department picked up the bill. It was fun but a little stressful with 3 small kids in the city. Two umbrella strollers and a moby wrap and we made it out ok.

Ryan and I are big Cake Boss fans and since we were so close we stopped for a canoli and a lobster tail. Worth it! So good!

We also went to the Natural Museum of History and the kids loved it. The boys were a little worn out though.

The top of the Empire State Building was COLD and we didn't stay outside for long.

Ryan had to work Christmas Eve so we had fun making cookies and playing in the snow.

Toree and Joely Appleseed

Ryan finally got a Saturday off of work, so we decided to take full advantage of it. We went apple picking at a local fruit farm. We were surprised at how many there were up here! This one has 26 kinds of apples to choose from. They also gave tractor rides out to the other side of the orchard, which the kids loved.

The folks working at the farm said we were free to try the apples.  We found a couple that we really liked: Suncrisp, Crispin and Fortune.  We hadn't heard of any of these.  Ryan likes Granny Smith, but everyone knows about those ones.  Who knew we would learn so much about apples in New York.  In the picture below, you will notice that Toree doesn't have enough teeth to eat apples without cutting them, so Ryan had to cut pieces off for her.

The kids were able to sit on the tractor.  Toree initially asked us if she could do it and we told her to ask the driver.  She pushed Joel into asking the driver who obviously said yes.  Who can refuse a cute 3 year old boy (while he is being well behaved)?!

Like I said earlier, we got to try a lot of apples and by the end, we were kind of sick of them.  Good thing we got 23 pounds of them!!

More baby pics to come.  Nick slept during the entire event.

Nick's Newborn Photos

I was able to take a few newborn photos of Nick the first week he was home. It is nice to do it at home where I can take them when he is cooperating and we can take breaks. Not something you can do when you schedule a photo session. He is such a happy baby and sleeps well at night, but refuses to take naps during the day!

So excited he his finally here! He took his sweet time and was 2 days late. My first two were both at least a week early so this was unexpected. I tried to hold off until my mom's flight came in at 7 pm but I didn't want to miss out on my epidural. Checked in at 5:30, epidural shortly after and my mom made it in time. He came just after 10 pm. It was pretty fast but I was nice and comfy! He is such a good baby and I love having him home. Happy birthday baby Nick!

Toree starts school

Toree started kindergarten and could not be more excited. She gets to be in the same class as her friend and next door neighbor. They ride the bus together too. I can't believe my baby is in school already. Joel and I miss her but luckily it's only half day.
