The reason for the season

Image
The reason for the season...wise men following a star... sometimes we are looking out side of ourselves and being inspired by what's out there at other times we look inwards.. and discover what we are and how we appear to others...just a shiny bauble perhaps? are we just looking for a man in a red suit perhaps... or are we looking for someone to guide us on our journey? sometimes we look outside and enjoy the view as we go past..  sometimes as we are going forwards and taking in the world around us... we look back also and we remember what went before us...others who went to find him... are we recognizing the angels amongst us every day? will our steps lead us to find the Holy One who came to be amongst us? Full of grace and truth. Away in a manger no crib for a bed the little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head! May you find God with you this Christmas season. May His Peace be with you!

Let there be Light

Image
At this time of year, with my good camera out of action again,  and Donna (from Cottage Days and Journeys )'s timely LET THERE BE LIGHT as the subject for this month's photo challenge I have to humbly submit my phone photos  from the Christmas pageant at church last weekend. Not great photos, but I think they capture the Spirit of the occasion. Especially as that beautiful Star in the last photo actually travelled across the church during the play. Grand daughter amused us by asking all the way through the play... "Where's baby Jesus" and then at the end, when he had finally arrived in the last scene she was saying to everyone "shhh...don't wake him up"! I think she knows all about babies, since one arrived at their house not long ago!! It has been wonderful to listen to the Christmas story on disc in the car whenever we go anywhere, accompanied by the book and pictures...one that I bought in NYC a few years ago now. ...

Another Art Exhibition

Image
from the dry bushland and kangaroos at the university here to an art exhibition on our way back from the city...a friend of my daughters did this hardanger pattern of her grandmothers ..in wire...  there were many other interesting and unusual art works as well... at the South Brisbane Institute of TAFE  from tea settings made from felt  teddy bears made of steel wool and I think this was a papier mache wave!  I really liked them all  especially these paintings  but I think one of  my favorites was this amazing work of art... A hearty well done to all the students for their exhibition...Thank you! Now we are off to feed the baby and have a coffee before the long drive home...in the Friday afternoon traffic...argh...! Hope you had a great week...and are looking forward to the next!

and now it is nearly...

Thanksgiving is over...and now it is The Wet Season! Hooray, It is raining today! After all the storms of late, it is nice to have a normal rainy day!  from a trip to the beach with a little grand daughter on an unexpected day off for us both  watching the traffic go by and eating ice creams...  to a trip to the Alma Mater in the Big City for Mummy to meet up with some friends she studied honors with  baby J was quite happy at the back of the room gurgling and looking out the window of the art museum, watching the sunset on the old buildings and the now famous gargoyles.  and back to another beach on another day for another workshop meeting for Mummy  baby was very good for Grandma in between visiting Mummy at break time for feeds and no, we didn't play in the sand dunes...not after reading that message! After the beauty of the jacarandas , we now have the red poincianas coming out  to add a touch of color to the Chr...
