I can't believe it's Christmas time

Image
Just realised my last post here was in June. How can that happen , when I have been at home doing nothing much? I do hope you have a reasonable Christmas season, wherever you may be when reading this! It has been a year like no other despite the fact that we have been quite lucky here. I managed to get to the beach for my fish and chips occasionally. Then it turned into fish and chip breakfast, when the tourists came back in the holidays. And now I probably wont go over there until after the summer holidays. Was nice to have some family come for a few weeks holiday and stay close by. that of course was interrupted by a couple of stints to hospital for dizzy spells and small procedure. Results all good. Now I know why I haven't posted, because my photos no longer get downloaded to this new laptop. Will have to do something about that!  So Stay Safe until I go find my photos!  May God go with you. here's an old one to make do until then!!

June 2020 a little bit of normality

Image
Amongst all the pandemic news, we get to do some normal things like taking photos of some of my favourite things A little difficult transferring from an old broken down laptop to a new one. But I'll learn eventually, hopefully. May God go with you this month. And at this time of grieving for so many,  I will add a link to a favourite sacred piece LUX AETERNA  from Elgar's Enigma Variations.

New Era

Image
A new Era  A new Header today! Looking towards the mountains. Last year these mountains were covered by smoke  from bush fires for months! Here we are today A new year ..a new season in our lives  I even found that my camera that stopped working last year has started working again! Sometimes small miracles happen  Meanwhile the bear waits for the kids to visit..One day maybe!  The news is understandably full of covid 19  But the sun is still rising and setting  and so is the moon too!   the flowers bloom and fade and the seasons still change ! I'm keeping my eye on this tree on my morning walk!  But fortunately there are bright spots in our days   spectacular cloud formations to take our minds off ourselves!   and creativity flourishes in the midst of loneliness, disease, isolation and despair even! May God bless you wherever you are! May he keep his face shining upon you. ...

from FIRES and Australia Day to FLOODS in FEBRUARY

Image
Since my last post on Australia Day  it seems as if the wet season is trying to arrive in certain parts of the country certainly here in our part of Queensland and sliding down the coast into northern New South Wales as I type this we pray that those badly affected by the recent terrible droughts and bush-fires will have their fair share of this lovely abundant rain going past!!!  I was very pleased to be able to sneak over to the beach           before the rains came flowing down this week When all the tourists have gone home and the children back to school after the long summer holidays, it is time for the locals to peep their noses out and see if it safe to go out again without getting caught up in the traffic !! NICE.   My lovely African Violet survived the hot summer despite being dropped on the floor and losing most of the special  soil it was growing in! Decided to flower for me again after a ...

THE TENNIS AUSTRALIA DAY and EVERYTHING ELSE

Image
AS you may be aware there have been many happenings in Australia lately. Terrible Fires, Flash Floods, Hail Storms, Dust storms, not to mention The Australian Open tennis in Melbourne. Today is the day we have usually celebrated Australia Day, but for some it has become a little disrespectful to our indigenous First Nation people for us to be celebrating on this date! One assumes that over time this issue will be resolved. And so with great respect to the people who lived here before the Europeans arrived, I share some photos of the parade in our little main street.   the Australian flag was raised...held firmly by an old Holden car from the fifties!  the light horse brigade was a part of the parade ... (having great difficulties transferring photos from phone to computer via email)  so bear with me they may not all appear here!! And our beloved local firies were there all spiffed up in their official gear! as were the garden club ...and t...

A Merry New Year

Image
With all best wishes for a wonderful New Year. May God go with us. May he be with all in Australia affected and traumatized by the current bushfire situations. Unprecedented! May God bless our country with much needed and gentle rain where it hurts most!
