Who Sleeps in on the First Day of School?
Who sleeps in on her first day of school? Well I'll tell you who.... Caitlin! Yes she was an hour late on the first day of school because she didn't wake up until it was time for school to start! At 7:00 I was thinking that I didn't hear her in the kitchen. Abby came in my room and I asked her if Caiti had already left for school she said, "I think so" I should have gone right down to check because I had a feeling that she wasn't up but I said to myself "Who sleeps in on the first day?"... Ellie came in at about 7:15 and I asked her to run down and make sure that Caiti had left for school. At about 7:20 Caiti came running frantically into my room with her disheveled hair and PJ's and said "I just woke up! I can't go to school like this!" I agreed that she definitely could not go to school like that and that she was just going to have to be late! (School starts ant 7:25!) Luckily it was her "Productions" class and she has a lot of friends in that class. When she finally arrived at school her Friends chimed "Good Morning Caitlin!" Her teacher said "Oh, good we're all here now!" That was so unlike Caiti, but she is a very deep sleeper! And we were used to staying up late and sleeping in!
Then Abby had lost her schedule! She had gotten it out so much to compare with her friends that we don't know what happened to it! She had to go a few minutes early to get a copy printed at the office. That is like a bad dream that I think we've all had about not knowing where your next class is... or forgetting your locker combination or something like that! It all worked out and she made it to all her classes!!
Then Ellie started to feel sick before school. I ended up bring her home early. Poor little girl! She came home and regrouped and felt much better the next day! It was just nerves but it made her very sick! She really is liking 6th grade! I think it will be great year for her! She is very responsible and likes to get her homework done right away when she gets home. I'm very proud of all my girls. They are truely amazing and I love them very much!
I started back at work on Monday as well. It went good. We were all commenting how after being back for a couple of days it seemed like we just started back where we left off in June and like we hardly had a break at all! It's a very great job and I'm very lucky to work with such amazing women! As much as I like my job...I really would rather just be home and be a Mom! Maybe next year..it was great to have the summer off!
I really need to get some photos on here! Sorry!

Salt Lake Bees game with Grandpa
We went to a "Bees" baseball game last week and took Grandpa Larsen. It was his Fathers Day present. The plan was to by him dinner as well, but he is a stubborn, adorable little man and he bought our dinner instead! We had a lot of fun! The game was great even though we lost by 2. (I can't remember who we played...oh well!)
We had the most delightful ice cream! I got "starlight mint" in a waffle cone and so did Abby and Ellie, but theirs came in a little plastic baseball hat(they shared)! Chad got strawberry, and Caiti got a snow cone! They cost $5.25 each! "Gulp!" Back home in real life we would never pay that much, but at the game we got caught up in the moment and couldn't resist! It was delightful, I'm still dreaming about it! Grandpa Larsen first said he didn't want ice cream but when we came back with ours he said he wanted one too, but he came back with a pizza instead! He said he got distracted! All of the food does look really good! We wanted one of everything, please!
We had a great time and we can't wait until next year! Chad's Dad is a wonderful man! We love him very much and enjoy spending time with him! (I didn't take any pictures, sorry!)

I'm back!
I know that I really need to post! I hope to get some pictures on here in the next couple of days! It's pretty sad that my last post was titled "Back to school" and now we've been out of school for a good 5 or 6 weeks! Caiti and Abby are at girls camp right now. We miss them but I'm sure they are having a great time! Ellie and I are hanging out at home while Chad goes to work. The lazy days of summer are wonderful!

Back To School
The girls are all back in school. I think that this will be a great school year!
Caiti is still taking voice lessons and is starting back in piano lessons as well. She is thinking about dropping out of Laytones. I think she has decided to give it a try the first semester and see how it goes! It all comes down to that teacher. It is time for that man to move on! Choir should be fun! Well anyway that is my opinion! She tried out for the school play "Lend Me A Tenor", and got the part of Maria! Yea! The play is in November and they started rehearsals a couple of weeks ago. Caiti is taking German. She is very interested in it! She really wants to learn Norwegian but nobody teaches it around here. German will have to do!
Abby is taking voice lessons and piano lessons. She is in Central Singers this year and is the Soprano president for her class. She's exited about that! She has seemed to adjust quite well this year and is doing great so far! 8th grade is so much more fun then 7th! Abby is taking Spanish 2 this year. She does really well with it! It's fun for Chad to help her and it helps him to brush up on his spanish! Abby is doing a lot of babysitting. Kids really like her! She is babysitting for her piano teacher every monday after school. She's really raking in the dough!
Ellie wants to play basketball this year! I need to sign her up tomorrow. I think it will be really fun for her. She has already had a lot of homework. It is a big change from last year! I think 5th grade can be a bit challenging, but she will do just great! She is such a sweet girl. She loves to be home and would rather not have to go to school.
I am starting a new part time job tomorrow. I will be working at our elementary school in Special Education as a Teacher Aid. It is 17 1/2 hours a week. I think I will enjoy it! It will be nice to work while the girls are at school and be off when they are. I really want to just be a mom but I think this job will be ideal! I just can't believe how expensive everything is getting! It will be nice to contribute a little bit to our family budget! I'll try it this school year and see how it goes!
Chad has experienced a lot of changes at work. They have had a ton of lay-offs and that has been very trying! One good thing however is that he is now working 4- 10 hour days. His days at work seem long but it's nice for him to have that extra day at home. He's able to unwind a little better and get some things done around the house. He even went and hit some golf balls, he hasn't done that for years! We will see how that works out. Chad has also been riding the commuter train to work and he loves it! He can't imagine having to drive to work now!

"Singin' in the Rain"
Caiti was in Singin' in the Rain this summer. It was sponsored by the Davis Arts Council. She did a great job. She played the part of Zelda Zanders. Her friend Eric Etter was in it with her. They had a pretty good time except for the stage manager who was a control freak! I think it was a good experience for her. I'll post a few pictures. We found out half way through the play that we were not allowed to take pictures. (oh well!) So these are the pictures that I got to take!
