My Bucket List

So...it looks like it's been a year since my last post...literally! So sad! Guess life has just gotten in the way of my blogging time. So, for my first post back from my 1-year hiatus, I choose to share my bucket list with all of you. I am entering a contest, and this is my entry in the Just Ask Bucket List Getaway Giveaway. Just Ask offers a breast and ovarian cancer screening and is encouraging people to share 15 things that I want to enjoy in my lifetime as a reminder to be aware of my health. Want to enter? Head over to TodaysMama.com to get the details. It seems like cancer is so prevalent in my life lately. My grandma died of breast cancer, and I had 2 more grandparents pass away from cancer. Unfortunately, my dad now has cancer. After seeing how he has lived his life, and the things that he has and still needs to accomplish from his bucket list, it's about time I make one for myself. So, here it goes:
1. Go on another cruise. I've been on one and it was the best vacation of my life. It brought my husband and  I so much closer, and was great for our relationship. I've always wanted to do another one, and hope I get to someday.
2. Travel around the world. I have ancestors from Hungary and Russia, and would love to see where they came from, and experience other parts of the world.
3. Learn how to surf. I've always loved the beach, but been chicken to surf. It looks like such a rush!
4. Go scuba diving. I loved snorkeling on the cruise, but I'd love to try scuba diving!
5. Learn how to ballroom dance. I love to dance! And I love Dancing with the Stars! I would love to learn how to ballroom dance...with my husband!
6. Write a fiction book. When I was in college, my English teacher asked if I'd ever considered being a writer. I had, but have never done it. I would love to write a book that people would be interested in reading!
7. See a Broadway show. I haven't gotten to yet, but would love the chance!
8. Live in a small town with a big backyard and a big garden. I've never had a yard big enough for my kids to play in or plant a garden, and would love to have that someday!
9. Have a vacation beach house. I've always dreamed of waking up to the ocean as my front yard, and being able to walk out onto the sand whenever I please!
10. Go on a safari. I have always wanted to travel to Africa and see the wild animals!
11. Go to Hawaii. Never been there, but sounds like I need too!
12. Become a great chef! I would love to be a good cooker and baker! Definitely need more classes for that!;)
13. Meet Brad Pitt. Okay, I've had a crush on this guy ever since I was younger. I think my tongue would be tied if I ever had the chance to meet him!
14. Run a marathon. Lots of my friends have done it, and I'd like to do it someday as well!
15. Return to Brazil, where I served a mission. I love that country and the people.

So there you have it! I'm sure there's a lot more things I'd like to accomplish before I die, but here are 15, in no particular order. I hope to be able to do these things one day, as life is so short! Guess I'd better get started!!

Pumpkin Patch

I have a lot of October happenings to post, so I'm going to be posting a little at a time, to try and catch up!
Last month, we took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch in Santaquin. It was so nice and warm this year...felt like California weather! On our way there, we stopped at Fat Jack's pizza and ate pizza and mozzarella sticks! Yum! Then we went to pick out our pumpkins at The Red Barn. We took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. After the kids found the ones they wanted, we ate some ice cream and took our pumpkins to their new home. I love this time of year!

Football

Football! Wow! I didn't know it would be so crazy! With 2 boys in football, our life got super hectic, and our social life went down the drain! Dylan and Brayden's football practice schedules were on opposite days of each other, so every day of the week, one of them had practice. It was worth it though! It was so fun getting to watch them improve with each game (it was the first year for both of them), be part of a team, and learn about hard work. Brayden still has one more tournament in Mesquite in November, so we're looking forward to that, not to mention being in warmer weather! Here are some pics from their season:

It was time...

It was time. After much thought, I decided to pursue it. What was I going to pursue, you ask? My quest, to go out into the business world and look for a new job. How intimidating! Could I do it again? I'm old now, have 4 kids, and a busy schedule that goes along with that. But, I'll have to admit, my confidence was up.
I started looking online for jobs and found one that I thought would be the perfect fit! Since I worked for a few years in a call center, before I had kids, I knew that 1800CONTACTS was the place for me! I sent my resume in and was emailed a questionnaire to fill out the next day. I finished that and they called me to schedule a phone interview. I had the interview, which went well, and was then asked to go in to the company for some more interviews and tests. I took some computer tests and had a couple of interviews with managers and higher-ups, and after my last interview, they offered me a position in the call center! I was sooo excited!!!
I started my first day of training yesterday and loved it! The company is wonderful! They treat their employees and customers like gold, and that makes a huge difference to me. I know that I am really going to enjoy working for 1800CONTACTS. I'm excited to get back into the workforce again, and even though I will really miss my hubby and kids, I think the break will make me a better wife and mommy!!:)

Preschool!

So, my little princess started preschool (her 2nd year) yesterday! This year, she really feels like a big girl because she gets to go to the brand new elementary school! I'm way excited because my kids can finally walk to school, and not have to leave extra early to catch the bus!
I'm so grateful for Zoey...my only girl! I love her personality! She is very affectionate and so fun! She loves to sing, dance, talk, read books, play with her friends, shop, and just be close to her mommy!:) I'm definitely going to be shedding tears when she starts Kindergarten!:(
It's been a bit strange only having the baby at home for a few hours, and really quiet! I'm thinking that I just might be able to get a nap every once in a while...wow!!!
Anyways, here are some pics of Zoey's first day!
