Cheers

Happy Holidays! Just one more to go.

We've had a really good holiday with family and friends this year. We spent Christmas Eve with the Englishs. Had our traditional Mexican food dinner, opened some presents, and just talked and enjoyed the company.

Christmas day we made our annual home video of opening each other's presents. Image
Then we spent the rest of the day visiting Tim's family to see what all the little neices and nephews got. They bring in quite a load every year! It's fun to go to each house and watch how excited they are about all their new stuff. Holidays make me so happy that most of our family lives so close.

* * *
Also, thanks to everyone for their congratulations! We are pretty excited to bring a little baby into our family. I am about 11 weeks along, my due date is July 19, so we have a while. We should find out if it's a boy or a girl in February, and I'll be sure to keep you posted!

The holidays is a special....days

I got a little bored of my blog. Which tells me that it is very likely that anyone else who ever reads it was already bored. But I am going to plug away and continue documenting.

Finals are over so I feel just a little more alive now. I think Tim is pretty relieved as well. We've been taking turns being sick over the last few months. It's my turn now. But, we have been able to have a lot of fun with family and friends. Lots of dinners, parties, and HGTV together at night.

For Thanksgiving (during which it was Tim's turn for the flu) we went to his family's dinner on Thursday and then mine on Friday. Normally any event that involves his family involves way too many people in way too small a space. It is crowded and loud and always fun. This year was a little different though, because his sister Steph had her baby, Sue didn't come up from St. George, and three of his brothers went to their in-laws. I think it was the most quiet Arbon Thanksgiving that ever there was.

Caelan and Grandpa deep in conversation
ImageThe photo above contrasts quite a bit with the Arbon family Christmas party last night. This is more like it. You will underestimate how loud it gets, but let me tell you, this is a family that likes to be heard.
ImageMy family's parties are always a little more peaceful and laid-back. I didn't get any pictures, but this year has been no exception.

Tim turned 26 on December 4. I keep trying to convince him that he's in his late-20's now, but he won't buy it. I didn't get him anything for his birthday because I am the lamest wife ever. But we did go out for dinner. Not sure how I can pass this off as a present since we go out somewhere at least once a weekend. Oh well. I'll do better next year.

My newly 26-year-old husband and the cutest dog ever. The two of them are permanently connected, I swear.

Yuck

School has taken over my life. Updates to come soon.

Timothy

A little "getting to know" my husband.

1. Tim has to get a paper towel before he makes any kind of food. Sandwich, microwave burrito, mac n cheese (his favorite), doesn't matter. The first step is getting a papertowel and setting it on the counter.

2. I think a few might be about food. He has to have a process to make things efficient with whatever he does. When he cooks, he gets everything completely ready, and cleans up as its cooking. Once he has made something one way, it gets made the same way everytime, down to the last detail.

3. He is super paranoid about our dog. We thought we lost him once (he was just in the garage) and ever since then, Tim has to know where that dog is at all times. I can only imagine how he'll be with our kids.

4. He is a neat freak. I don't really have any issues with clutter, but he does. He's always trying to organize stuff. I'll usually just stuff my clothes in the closet without hanging them, and I don't think anything drives him more crazy.

5. He cuts his hair like once a week.

6. He is always hot. It could be -52 degrees in our house and he would complain about the heat.

Girls Just Want to Have Lunch

So I guess school hasn't slowed us down as much as I was expecting. The last couple of weekends have been all about the girls. Last Friday, Heather and I had a girls night out while the boys were at a football game. We had some great Indian food at the Bombay House, and then went to see the House Bunny. It was so freakin hilarious. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in a movie. We both loved it. One of these pictures is too dark but I had to take it. There were three boys sitting behind us in the chick flick and they didn't have girls with them. Kinda funny.

Then on Tuesday I got to go to the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE tour! Dana got tickets for everyone and my mom joined us. The dancing was amazing. It's so different seeing it live. We went to Costa Vida beforehand and got home late but it was so fun.

Image
Last night was Ogden High's homecoming game. I met Heather there to watch them lose to Morgan, which was pretty sad. Then it was Olive Garden and a movie. And we decided to let the guys go ahead and join us for that. :)

Baby

I saw this on a friend's blog (hey Keri!) and I had to try it. We are not looking to pop out any children any time soon, but I've always thought the best part would be seeing what the little tykes look like. Apparently, either Tim or myself have some black in us. Pretty dang cute kids though.

Ode

I have the cutest dog. You should only be so lucky. I realize I have been posting a lot of videos lately, and I am cool with that. I also realize that the following videos are probably not interesting to anyone but me and Tim and maybe Tim's sister that gave us this adorable fluff ball because her kid is allergic. And I thank my lucky stars every day that Tim is not allergic, as that is not always the case with him and dogs.

One of you may be thinking that my dog is not well behaved because he chases his tail and you heard on the Dog Whisperer that is bad, but you would be wrong. He's perfect. Actually, what am I saying, this little beast ruined a pair of my shoes today. I totally forgot already. Until I just remembered just now.

Second video: They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Casper is now almost three and last week Tim and I taught him to roll in about 20 minutes, maybe 10. His previous tricks included dance, sit, shake and lay. Now that he has learned to roll, he can't seem to remember any of those others.

Yes, my hands are huge. And yes, my pants say HO on them.

New Post

Well summer is coming to a close, and I am determined not to let it make me want to cry and beg Tim to move to Arizona. We have done a lot of fun things this summer, and have been trying to live up our last few weeks of warmth. We went to Heather and Dallan's cabin in Lava Hot Springs, had dinners with friends, watched a bunch of little league games, went to Peach Days, and last weekend we went to St. George.

We took my little brother, Kelson, and Tim's dad drove (slowly) to break in his new truck. Tim's sister Sue's daughter Kylee developed a major crush on Kelson. It was so cute, she was talking to him and showing off for him the whole time. She put on this little show for us. I think my favorite part is Sue in the background egging her on.

Crystal

Some silly facts about the person behind the blog.

1. I am always bored. I have a hard time ever finishing a project because I get sick of it so quickly. If I could move once a year I would, it would give me something new to look forward to. I always have this feeling that there must be something better or more exciting to do than whatever I am doing right now. It has made school a little difficult, and is the only reason I ever think I want a kid. I think this is one of the reasons I am the world's best (worst?) procrastinator.

2. I also have a sweet tooth! (Good one Heather) I loooove candy. My favorites are the extra-sweet sugary candy like airheads, skittles, and of course my all time fav: NERD ROPES. I feel like I need something sweet after every meal, so I try to keep a quarter with me to buy candy when I can. It is kind of pathetic that most of my memories are tied to food in some way, like red airheads at the pool in high school. Really though, I just love eating.

3. I hate shopping. Don't get me wrong, I love getting new things, but I hate the whole process. I don't like walking from store to store. I get completely overwhelmed looking through rows of stuff to find the one thing I want. And I am not a good shopper. I don't have the gene that lets you look at something and know that it will work/will be perfect/will be a complete disaster. When I decide it is finally time to buck up and head to the store, I have to get in and get out.

4. I want to live on a farm someday. Or at least I want to own a goat. I am always looking for a place where I can stretch my legs, but that isn't inconvenient. I think part of the reason I want a lot of land is that I am an animal lover through and through. In my life I have owned 3 rabbits, a million cats, a dog, a snake, a lizard, hamsters, a cockatiel, and the list goes on. I need room for all the animals I will have one day.

5. I am anal about oral care. :)
6. Six things huh. OK I am going to commit to finishing this post. Um...I have to have things balanced. For example: if I bump my elbow on something, I have to hit the other elbow until the pain in both elbows matches. Also, I hate stepping on the cracks in the sidewalk, but if I take an uneven number of steps in between cracks to avoid steping on the crack, it drive me NUTS.

Sunday Night Concert

An Austin Budge original... We started out on the back patio, but after the mosquitos started interrupting the songs we moved the party indoors. If anyone wants to see this man live in concert, let me know. Oh, and as far as I know, this was his debute performance of this song.

Camping

Tim and I went camping with some friends over the weekend. We went up above Eden, got a pretty nice camp site, and the area was beautiful. We have never been camping together. I was so glad we got to go, and everyone else coming along made it that much better. Tim and I went up Thursday night to look for a place, with no luck, so we went again on Friday. During our search we found a hike to a waterfall. When we hiked it on Saturday, it turned out to not really be a waterfall, more of a stream coming down a steep hill. But it was fun anyway...

Image We decided to get some "family pictures" while we were up there.

Image Then we cooked some food, shot some guns, and fished for some fish.

Thanks to Steve and Dana, Devin and Kailey for the good time! Oh, and naturally we finished up the trip with a blue flame. (I can't say who this was, but it wasn't me and it wasn't Tim.)

The Graduate

TIM GRADUATED! And now he can breathe a deep sigh of relief. I am so proud and so crazy jealous of him. As a congratulations, I got him a new TV. He has been wanting to replace our old one with an LCD, and what a better time than just as football season starts:)

I was sad to see the big screen go, its been so good to us.

Image
And obviously I was a huge help getting it set up.

ImageImageImage
I was pretty hesitant about everything, but I'm happy with it now. And of course Tim totally deserves it. Congrats babe!

Dark Knight

We went to see the new Batman movie at the drive-in on Friday. Totally disturbed.

I've been saying that we should drop everything and move to Hollywood to try and make it big. Just one blockbuster and we could retire. Here we are showing off our rad acting chops with a scene from Hannibal.

Bachelorette BBQ

So Deana picked Jesse. All those weeks of anticipation and she picked Jesse?! Doesn't she know about google? Oh well, I guess that's what I get for getting so involved in someone else's psuedo-love-life.

Good news is, we went to watch the big proposal in Sandy with Dana and Steve and Rachel. I work with Dana and Rachel at Zions and we have to rehash every episode of several shows at lunch everyday. It is usually a similar conversation to the one I had the night before with Tim, because he loves them almost as much as me. Dana and Steve - your place was so nice! Thanks for the chow. We can have the SYTYCD finale party at my house, and then The Office finale party at your house, and then maybe it will be The Bachelor Finale party at RB and CJ's... : )

BBQ

Tim and I have been wanting to have a BBQ with some friends for a while, so we finally bucked up and bought some patio furniture and a grill. I don't know why but I had MAJOR anxiety about it all week. Everything turned out great though, I think everyone had a good time...

ImageLittle disclaimer on the photos before I post more: It was dark, and my camera, let's just say my camera is worse than yours.

Just Tiny and Adorable

We went to St. George over the weekend to see the latest addition to our huge family. Tim's sister Sue just had a baby girl, making the running total 5 nieces and 9 nephews on his side, with one on the way. They named her Keslie, and she is just tiny and adorable.

Changes

My family hit some milestones this weeked. On Friday night Emily graduated from high school and Miles returned from serving a mission in Hamburg, Germany.
Since the whole family couldn't do both things, Tim and I went to the graduation and everyone else went to the airport. I can't believe Emily is old enough to graduate. It seems like everyone in my family should stay the same age they were when I got married. Em and I didn't get a long too well when I was in high school (her fault, she always stole my stuff), but I love her again. She will be going to BYU Idaho, and then she wants to go on a mission. It is wierd to think that if she is like me, she'll be married in two years.

It wasn't as wierd to see Miles as I thought it would be. He hasn't changed much, but he is a lot more talkative now. I forgot how tall he is, He towers over me.

Image
Moving along...

Saturday Heather, Erin and I threw a baby shower for Jessica. She is going to pop any day! I can't wait to see that cute baby. People always said that you will never keep the friends that you had in high school, and I have to admit we don't see enough of each other, but for the most part, those people were wrong.

Warning

Explicit material ahead.

Tim has been excited to be finished with school for a million reasons, but one reason has been nagging at him since we got married is his lack of time to play sports. For the last [nearly] three years he has been ancipating the days that he can spend his nights playing a game of pick up basketball instead of studying. Well that day finally came, and the following was the result. I know this is gross. I made the pictures small, so if you are the kind of person who likes looking at bloody toes (do those people exist?), you can click for the big version.

Image Image

Yep, he jammed his toe on a drive during his first night back at ward basketball. I guess it was hurting pretty bad, because he let me perform surgery by making a couple holes in his toenail with a drill bit. You know that sensation you get when you pop the perfect zit, like it is totally gross, but you would keep doing it all day? Well this was kind of like that.

Woot Woot

Image Yeah! Go teams. We must be huge fans, because we have now attended TWO sporting events of THE SAME TEAMS. Friday night Tim went to the Jazz game and watched the Jazz kill the Lakers in game 3 without me. Then Saturday we went to another Utah Blaze game. And we might even go again after this!

This time we took our friends Erin and Jesse (who we owe our relationship to). I took a real cute picture of them, but Jesse said he doesn't want any pictures of him on the internet, so here is one of Erin and I enjoying the big game.
Image

The same night, Emily had her last high school dance. They were in a rush, so I went and bought her some shoes. She wore a dress that our grandma went dancing in in high school. Side note: I fit in that dress when I was 10, they had to take it in for Em. Then I set up an appointment for her to get her hair done in Roy. She showed up at my house after the appointment with mascara streaming down her face and her hair was some kind of funny. So we took it all out and re-did it. It was dramatic : )

Twenty-three

So, I am old. Really....can't we all just stay 19 forever? My birthday was on Friday, May 2. Tim and I both took work off, and thankfully he was finished with school for the semester, and I just have 1 more test and two more papers. It was so nice to have a day to think about nothing but myself.

We went to Salt Lake to go shopping at the Gateway, and then lunch at Tucci's. Our waitress kept acting like she had an Italian accent, only she wasn't trying to be funny. I forgot that I had my camera with me until the drive home, so here I am, newly 23 and cruising with my hubby.

ImageThat night, Tim's family came over for cake and ice cream and the Jazz game.

My mom and sister Emily came up yesterday to take me to dinner and to do some more shopping. She is going to Purple and White next weekend, so we looked for a dress for her, but we didn't get one. She's so gorgeous...

Finals Week

Gahhh! I am dying of school. Don't worry, its not contagious.
Let me just tell you, in the course of a week and a day I have due:

5 tests
2 projects
4 papers
2 assignments

But its OK, because after this I have 3 MORE SEMESTERS. It never ends. Tim, on the other hand, has a few online classes this summer and then he is finished.
