D-D-D-DISNEYLAND!
Last year around this time we planned a trip to Disneyland . Then I found out I was pregnant. We went a couple of years ago (the first time since we were young kids) and LOVED it. So we have really wanted to go back. The opportunity presented itself last week and at the last minute we decided to drive on down to sunny southern California .

All Hallows Eve
So. Halloween. It was pretty fun this year. It's not a holiday that Tim and I typically get into. Last year for Halloween Tim went with Ogden High's Football team to Cedar City and I spent the night sick at home with Heather. This year Ogden didn't make it to the playoffs (insert smiley or frowney here, depending on your preference) so we got Mason all dressed up as the most adorable monkey EVER and spent the holiday with family.

His costume came about a month early and I couldn't help trying it on him, so these are a little old.
Thursday before Halloween we had the annual bread bowl party at the Arbons' and then Saturday my parents and brother Ryan came over for my attempt at bread bowls, to pass out candy, and play pool. Oh yeah, we got a pool table. Please feel free to invite yourself over to play! Also, for some reason I thought it would be good to put my baby in a cold, gooey pumpkin.

Vecindad
Tim is a kid person. I think it must have something to do with being the youngest in his family. He could hang out with kids all day just playing pass or listening to their stories. Some of my favorite pictures of Tim are with his nephews when he was in high school - after his football games or at a sleep-over.
We have a family that lives next door, the Alexanders, that have two of the cutest kids and since we don't have a fence between our yards we get to see them all the time. This summer Tim would spot the six-year old boy, Caden, outside practicing football and he just couldn't help himself. They spend hours playing out on the lawn and I really couldn't say who enjoys it more.
One time Cade had to go inside for dinner and he let Tim know that when he was back outside it meant he was ready to play again. About twenty minutes later we heard this strange beeping noise in the backyard and looked out to see Cade riding his scooter across the lawn making noise and hoping Tim would notice, but not daring to knock on the door.
So basically, he's adorable. Yesterday he brought over this gift for Tim.

Cambios Importantes: Updated
Everyone told us (over and over) and how much having a baby would change our lives and they weren't joking around. It is absolutely amazing how much better our lives are now. I can't imagine things any other way. I mean seriously...what girl wouldn't want to spend her days with these two gents.
Mason was blessed by his dad in church a couple of weeks ago and he looked like a total pimp. I'm not sure if you can use church and pimp in the same sentence but there it is. P.I.M.P.
The blessing was beautiful. I married a pretty amazing guy. Most of our families were there to support us (sorry Tim didn't call you a little sooner, Sue) and we had a great time with them.

The one question I keep getting from everyone is some variation of how is Mason sleeping. The answer? He's not. It's slowly getting better but I am a very groggy, very happy mom. He does have the growing thing down - at two months old he's over 13 pounds and nearly 24 inches. And he is trying so hard to talk to us.

Eat your heart out
Mason will be two weeks old tomorrow - the days have been flying by. It feels like I was pregnant for three years but now the time is passing too quickly. He is just a perfect baby. He never fusses unless he's hungry and even then we can't get over how cute he is. Being a parent is so much better than I anticipated. It doesn't hurt that I got this smiley little guy.

Blah de Blah
Been a while since I updated. Mostly because I never have my camera and there is nothing worse than a picture-less post. Our anniversary was June 17 bringing the running total to 4 YEARS of marriage. I love it. Here is the quintessential wedding picture.

We also had Father’s Day. I couldn’t decide whether or not Tim counted as a father yet, so I didn’t get him anything. My family all had a BBQ and went to a Raptor’s game last night for for my papy's Father’s Day. It was actually pretty fun – a perfect night for baseball.

Before our anniversary, Tim and I got tickets to go to Joel McHale! YAY! We love watching The Soup. We got tickets with our friends Steve and Dana but Steve was in Dallas for school so Dana's friend Laurie came along. It was so fun. The opening gay was lame, and Joel was kind of only funny because he’s Joel, but I loved it.

Yesterday I scheduled a C-section for July 12 because the little guy is still breech. Unless he decides to make an appearance before then, we only have a couple more weeks! Other than that the summer has been kind of slow. I’m a buzz kill lately - can’t really do much of anything.

Also...
We were babysitting Tim's niece and nephew a few weeks ago and decided to check out Tim's skating skills. I am always telling people that Tim has an unhealthy paranoia about our dog Casper - he has to know where the dog is at all times. Some people may not have believed me. This was right as we started…

Casper, Mostly
Poor Casper. We let our neighbors (who he LOVES) take him on a walk a couple of weeks ago and another neighbor kid accidently stepped on his foot. It broke one of his nails as it was ripped from his paw. We took him to the vet who kept him overnight to perform surgery. He came home the next morning a very pouty tripod. It took him about a week to start using that leg again, and if it hadn't been so sad, it would have been pretty funny.
Also, Tim ordered this enourmous $15, 1.5 pound burger at Iron Gate Grill the other day. His reaction after downing the entire thing? "I was hoping it would be bigger."

Finally
I am a college grad and it feels so good. It only took me six years but I finally finished and I will never look back. Life has been a little nuts this past month and I have to publicly thank Tim for keeping me from jumping off the roof. Because I am not lying - it was tempting.
I had a feeling this semester was going to be a little difficult, taking 18 credits and still working full-time in West Valley. But I figured that I'd done it several times before and I could do it again. I did not take into account the whole new angle that being pregnant would throw at me. It has been a highly emotional and frustrating time, but now its over!!! (This really deserves like 129 exclamation points). I am doing my best to breathe a deep sigh of relief, but this kid is seriously crowding my lungs.
I also turned 24. That's kind of big one for me. It's the age that I have always used when I am guessing someone's age that I think is older than me but not really old yet. It's weird to use it as the age to describe myself.
It was a perfect day. And not only because I did NOT have homework hanging over my head for once. My mom treated me in the morning to a massage and pedicure, then lunch at Iron Gate Grill in Logan. When I got home Tim was making a birthday cake. His family came over and watched me open my gift from him, which was the sewing machine I asked for. THEN we went to Applebee’s with our friends Devin and Kailey and met Erin and Jesse there. Some crazy games of Catch Phrase and Dominoes ensued. I loved it. Thanks to everyone who made the day great!

I've been booting Tim off the bed with the copious number of pillows needed to prop up my huge body, so the first order of business was making smaller pillows that would still do the job. I was making pillow cases for them and Tim had to give it a try. He's so cute.

Carribean Cruise
Well we just got back from our much anticipated cruise! It was so fun enjoying the heat, the food, and the sea. I love love love beaches and sun more than anything so I couldn't really ask for more. We loved that Dana and Steve came and made the trip that much better! We spent a lot of time in-between locations lying out by the pool, working on our tans and eating. (DISCLAIMER: I'm not just chubby in these pics. There's a baby in there.)
Our first stop was Jamaica. It was a pretty amazing place to visit once, but I don't think I'll go back anytime soon. We hiked right up the middle of Dunn's River Falls (without a guide, thankfully) then spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach. All the while getting hounded to either let them take our picture for a tip, or buy marijuana.
We weren't able to spend time at Grand Cayman and swim with the stingrays like we'd hoped because they closed the port to due high winds. We went to Key West instead (which was beautiful) and went snorkeling. It was our first time and it was even better than I thought it would be. Tim had a minor panic attack when we got in the water because he couldn't figure out the snorkel and float at the same time. He forgot to blow up his life vest. Luckily, the guide noticed and gave him some help. After that we loved seeing all the fish. We even came face to face with a Barracuda!
After the cruise we had a day to burn before the long flight home, so we caught a couple taxis and spent the day at the Metro Zoo in Miami. It was actually pretty fun. The animals were a little more lively than they normally are at Hogle Zoo, so we got a few good pics.
It was kind of rough coming back to school and work and snow. All in all, successful vacation!
Updated: News
We had the targeted ultrasound done yesterday (3/9). It was pretty amazing. The little guy was moving so much the tech had some trouble getting a clear shot. I'm surprised I can't feel him move more often with all the jumping around he's doing in there.
At our last appointment the doctor said that he was 98% sure it was a boy, but the umbilical cord was wrapped between the legs, so he couldn't be 100%. This pretty much took it to 100%.

Gender = Male
Tim could not wipe this grin off his face. It's still there right now. And I am pretty dang excited myself! I hope he looks just like his dad.

VACAY!
Before we found out that I was pregnant, Tim and I had some big plans. We had a trip planned to Disneyland in December, and then Costa Rica for my graduation present in the spring. The baby put those plans on hold. As if canceling vacations isn't a big enough bummer, add a couple months of morning sickness.
I feel guilty about it now, but it made it pretty hard for me to be excited about being pregnant. I would get in a slump and Tim would remind me that we have a lot of friends that are trying to have children and it's not working out like they'd hoped. I can't imagine being in that situation, so I really am so thankful that we never had to worry about that. Now I feel incredibly blessed that we are going to start our family soon. And really, the timing is good. I graduate in May, Tim's work is going well, we just sold our condo (today!), we'll have been married for over four years, and we are unbelievably happy together.
That being said, I needed that vacation. So we are going to the Caribbean! We are headed out with our friends Steve and Dana (get Dana's funny take on the way it was planned here) on February 28. It is a six day cruise to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. SUN! FUN! MORE SUN! I can't wait.
Adding to my excitement is the fact that we find out on Monday if we are having a girl or a boy. For some reason whenever we tell people that, they say, "Hopefully it's not both!"
YEAH.
We were going to do this to the guest room anyway, but now we can say we did it for the baby. Let the nesting begin!
