Quick fall round up

It has not been a very eventful fall but we have just fallen into each season of life. It is so nice to just be in routine and go about life. We went to the farm for Labor Day and the Walker family joined us! It was a fun filled weekend.  I took the boys to Oxford for the AL Ole Miss game and it was such a fun weekend. They loved all the fun things the grove had to offer. Whit played fall ball and we really enjoyed it. It was a short and sweet season. It helped that his bff Mac was on the team! And finally a couple of weekends ago I took my annual girls trip to the beach. It was fabulous as always! Nate and Ben decided they were going to take the kids to the farm while we were gone. It was so funny bc they let Whit and Han miss school Friday, insisted that they take one car so they were literally packed to the top, and they served corn dogs and frozen pizza for almost every meal. HILARIOUS!

Nate was the pitcher the whole season!

Kindergarten

The time has finally come for Whit to go to Kindergarten. Where has the time gone?! He is ready and I am so proud of him. We met the teacher on the Monday before school and she is wonderful! Wednesday night as he was going to sleep we put his "magic sleep glitter" under his pillow and said prayers. The only time I got teary eyed was saying prayers with him and Nate. I just prayed for his school, teachers and him. My sweet little man is growing up!
Thursday morning Charlie and I walked him to his room and there he went. I wanted to pick him up his first day instead of going to after school care. He had a great day!!!
He jumps out of the car ready to go each morning when Nate drops him off. The few days I have taken him, he melts my heart. He jumps out, starts walking away then turns around to wave and he does it about 3 more times on his way to the door. He is going to have a fabulous year!

Summer vacations

We had a great summer. It was really the first time I felt like what summer is supposed to be. It may be bc the boys are getting older so we stayed up later, swam more, and went on small little trips but whatever it was, I really enjoyed it!

Image
First trip of the summer was the annual beach trip with my family. We stayed in Watercolor and it was so fun. The boys had a lot of fun and are at a much easier age!

Image
Uncle JD had nap time with the boys. It was the only way we could get them to chill for a bit

Thanks to Cookie and Doc for a fun week

Image
Allye is hilarious and had to sit in sissy's lap

Image

Image
This kid loves to ride bikes but the one he rides best is the banana seat bike i had when I was little so we took it to the beach and he rode it all over!

Image
Image
Fun week! Nate went home in the middle of the week so he missed the family photo

Image
The next trip was for Nate's work. We headed to Boston for a few days! His mom and I loved walking through Beacon Hill while they had meetings!

Image
The company had a dinner cruise one night and the skyline was so pretty from Boston Harbor

Image

Image
We figured if we were up there then we should head to Cape Cod! So we headed to Cape Cod for a night. This was the best little lobster shack. It was exactly what I had in my head.  It was basically this little hut at a marina. So fun!

Image
Saturday we rented bikes and rode 3 miles to the cutest little town on the water. I loved doing this even though it started raining on the way home!

Image
Along the bike path. I thought that Cape Cod was all going to be basically on the water but it isn't. There is a ton of vegetation and a lot of the towns on  6A are very much in the woods. This port town was where the ferry came in to go back and forth to Martha's Vineyard.

One random Monday in June mom said " do you want to take the boys to Seaside for a couple days?" Yes! So mom, Debbie, the boys and I headed to the beach for a few days. It was so much fun. The boys loved swimming with Cookie and Deedee

Image
It was such a fun, easy trip. When you don't have grown men with you, you can eat chicken salad for lunch and wine and cheese for dinner. We had a blast!

Our last trip of the summer was a home run. Just the 4 of us headed to the lake. (So thankful for the generosity of being able to use someone's lake house.) We have never gone anywhere with just the 4 of us and it was good. As soon as we got there Friday evening the boys jumped right in!

Image
Whit has so much determination. It is a wonderful quality that we are seeing more and more. He played on the knee board by the dock for hours. Finally he said ok, I am ready. And... he did it!

Image

Image
he absolutely steals my heart daily

Image
Probably not one of our finer parenting moments, but Whit wanted to do this rope swing he saw on the lake. Well, I was waiting on Nate to say no and he was waiting on me to say no so Whit got to do it. We were both shocked that he was strong enough to hold on but he did. We had one little scare that I will push as far away in my memory as I can but he did it.

updating life

I am just adding pictures and comments to them since I do want to remember so many moments of our life. I just have been really bad at updating so maybe if i just get caught up I will be better!

Image
Meg wanted to check a half marathon off her bucket list so we started training together. I so loved this time. Our Saturday morning runs were so fun. We originally signed up to do Seaside and then we both had free entries to Mercedes. So instead of our 11 mile Saturday training run we just did the Mercedes half. I cannot tell you how proud I was of her! It was a very cold morning and its a hilly route so I was super proud!

Image
Made it to Seaside!!! It was such a fun, beautiful weekend. Poor Meg had some issues during this race so she told me to go ahead bc she knew I had a goal in mind. I finished 8 minutes ahead of what I was hoping for. I was very thankful and proud of myself. BUT I was so proud of Meg bc she finished the race. She was hurting but never stopped!

Image
Seaside is a fun post race atmosphere and we enjoyed it thoroughly!!

Spring time came and Whit was so excited for his first tball experience. He LOVED it!!!

Every spring Harper Kate's school (Joseph Sams School) had a big fundraiser/ auction night. I got to go this year and had a great time. She is so blessed to have this school close to their home.

Image
At some point in the spring I went on a field trip with Whit to Old Baker Farm. This sweet group has been together (a lot of them) for years!

Image
Whit got to go to Brookwood Forest's Forest Fling in the spring. It was a great way to get the new kindergartners to the school.

Image
Cannot believe he was graduating 4k at the ELC. That school has been a HUGE part of our lives over the past 5 years.

Just enjoying a summer afternoon

Doc turned 60 in July!!

Charlie loves to play golf so when Doc got him a box of balls he just made his own driving range.
