Toy chest?

Due to Christmas toys and the overflow effect they are having on Anderson's room. I am in search of a wooden toy chest for his room. I have checked ebay and several other sites. I still am not satisfied and simply cannot pay those prices!!! Ranging from 150-200$ Somebody please tell me I'm dreaming. Any ideas of where to get a toy chest?

17. 4 months later, I went to the hospital to visit my ailing grandmother and he was there to visit his, and we met on the elevator and agreed to talk it out.

Anderson's First Christmas 2008

Adam's UGLY Christmas sweater and yes, it's a joke!

Wow! What a whirlwind Christmas turned out to be! It was so awesome to be able to have Anderson this year and see his excitement for bows and paper and Gus' toys...;)

We went to the McCord's house for Christmas Eve and celebrated with Tami's family. It was fun! Anthony(adam's brother) and his wife Kelly spent the night at the McCord's also, fun, fun, fun! Anderson had been sleeping so well the week prior and then BOOM on early Christmas morning...he woke up at 1 a.m, 2:45, 3:30 and finally 4:25a.m. Adam and I jokingly said he was waiting for Santa Claus and swore he kept hearing him that is why he kept waking up. But the real reason is he is cutting his upper top tooth and boy did it make him fussy!

OUR Family Christmas Eve Night

Finally on Christmas morning around 7:00a.m. we began opening presents with Pappy and Nonny(Adam's parents) Anderson received some great gifts...one cool one was a John Deere tractor that Adam was given on his 2nd Christmas. Adam's parents repainted it and it looks so neato. Anderson will really enjoy that one in the near future.

We gave Anderson a sit and spin pony that sits and rides in front of the television and has games and learning tools on it, PRETTY COOL!!

Then we went to Nana and Pop's(my mom and Bob) house to open presents with them....where Granny Hall(Bob's mom-who is 92 by the way-held Anderson as much as he'd let her)

We were lazy the rest of the day, Adam took a 3 hour nap, due to lack of sleep the night before!

We have a tradition of going to my Daddy's and Mimi's on Christmas night and spending that time with them. It would have been fun, but Anderson was so ill that Adam or I spent half the night in the bedroom with him, pleading with him to take a nap. He NEVER did! Papa Ivey came over just to see "his boy" Papa Ivey is 90 by the way

We had a wonderful time, but were glad to get home and get back in our routine. Anderson especially was thankful to get back home and get into his bed. I can't believe next Christmas Anderson will be 20 months old! How CRAZY is that!!

8 months old and Merry Christmas!!

8 months old!!

On Tuesday, the 22nd, Anderson was 8 months old! I thank God EVERYDAY for our wonderful blessing! This past month you have learned to sit up, got two teeth, started babbling a whole lot and have been the BEST BOY A MOMMA COULD ASK FOR. We love you so much and can't wait to spend our 1st Christmas with you!

Merry Christmas everybody! Do you still believe? We do!

Fantasy in Lights

This year, Adam and I decided that we would not give each other presents and focus on Anderson. We decided that we would take Anderson to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia and go see the Fantasy in Lights Tour. Now, for those of you who have never seen this show, shame on you, go take your kids, it's fabulous!! We left on Saturday and spent the day at Callaway Gardens, where we walked some trails, went to see Mr. Carson's vegetable garden and relaxed.

The Fantasy in Lights Tour started at 6p.m and of course, when it got to 6 p.m., Anderson was exhausted and fell fast asleep. Adam and I enjoyed the show from the car, it takes about 45 minutes to drive through and boy is it beautiful. Half way through the drive, Anderson woke up and we took him out of his carseat and put him up front (no, I'm not a bad parent, we were only going 2 miles, if that, per hour). Anderson LOVED the tour, he looked at all of the lights very intensely and listened to the music that accompanied the lights. He even cried when we were done with the tour.

On Sunday, we went to Warm Springs, Georgia and went to the Little White House(which is the former home of FDR)who just happens to be my favorite president. Anderson and I got our picture made in front of the Little White House(knocking on FDR's door). Adam made this picture of me when I was pregnant with Anderson and I thought it would be neat to recreate the scene again with him.

We had such a wonderful time and Anderson was sooo good!

Oh, I almost forgot, Anderson is 8 months old today!!! I can't believe it! This last month you got another tooth(a total of two bottom ones), grew your hair back and sat up by yourself...such a big boy!! My baby is growing up!! I love you Anderson

On a holiday note, Christmas time is coming, (on Wednesday to be exact) and we are thrilled for Anderson's first Christmas! We are headed to Dothan, this will be our last year traveling there for Christmas, since we have a son now, we want him to be able to open presents at his house from now on. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Thankful Thursday

We have SO much to be thankful for
I am thankful for my wonderful husband who loves me no matter what
I am thankful for our WONDERFUL son Anderson, who God has blessed us with and who I look at each and everyday and think, "wow, he is a miracle"
I am thankful for my momma, who is the best momma and friend a girl could ask for
I am thankful for Mrs. Sherri, who babysits Anderson, she is so wonderful and does so much for him, (she got him a rid on car and made us an Alabama quilt for Christmas) she is too sweet!!
I am thankful for Gus who loves me just because I'm his mommie and is ALWAYS faithful to me
I am thankful for Christmas break and time home with my babes
I am thankful for Carmellos and water(the best snack ever)Adam just brought me one!
I am thankful for a God who sent his son into this world and who died for our sins

Heavy on my heart

As I go from day to day. I find that I worry about well Richard Carlson put it best, the small stuff. I worry if Anderson doesn't eat all of his food or if he wakes up in the middle of the night or cries for no reason or countless other little worries. Today, Adam, Anderson and I went to the reunion Christmas NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) party. If you don't know, Anderson was in NICU for 6 days after he was born. I had him 1 month early and had an emergency c-section and didn't even get to hold him or kiss him after he was delivered.

I feel that I was sent to that party for a reason, to give back. I encountered the Footprints Ministry lady, who her non-profit organization was so kind to give us a bag with gift card, disposable camera, scent blanket, bible and poem in it when Anderson was in NICU. I began reading their blog and really want to get involved in their ministry to the NICU babies.

We have so much and are SO BLESSED to have Anderson happy and healthy. I always felt guilty in NICU because Anderson was healthy (he just had wet lungs was jaundiced and wouldn't eat too much) and I would look around at all of the babies who weighed 2 and 3 lbs.

Please consider giving a donation or even your time if you live around somewhere that has a ministry like Footprints Ministry. You can go to http://www.nicufootprints.blogspot.com/. It was a life saver for us. I remember sitting at home after the first day I had to leave my child in the hospital, crying uncontrollaby and opening the bag that Footprints had given to us. I remember feeling a peace when I read the bible verses that had been provided. Oh, my God had come to me in my darkest hour! There is HOPE!

Thank you God for our wonderful baby and I continue to pray for those parents who are or have experienced the same thing.

Yipeeeee, is all I can say! Anderson has just started being able to sit up by himself last Sunday for prolonged periods of time! He is such a big boy! Now, all he wants to do is sit, sit, sit. Sit up in the bed, sit up in his bouncy chair when he's trying to be fed etc...

I mispoke when I said Anderson had not even so much as looked at the Christmas lights, this morning when I was getting ready, Anderson was in his walker and CRASH! I looked over and he was in the tree(in his walker) and he was in the process of putting a nutcracker into his mouth. Now, that is his new favorite thing, get in his walker and straight to the Christmas tree!

We are taking Christmas family pictures this weekend, momma is coming up and I think we're gonna either go to the Renaissance Hotel or the Alabama River. I'm SOOO excited about Anderson's first Christmas card picture!!

I finally got a picture(even though it's blurry) of Anderson's two teeth. Now, I believe he is cutting another tooth, because he is waking a couple of time a night again. Thank goodness for Hyland's teething tablets!!:)

Anderson is also starting to enjoy his big boy carseat, alot more than his infant one. The shrieking has subsided somewhat during the daytime hours, but we DON"T go out at night, because he howls when it gets dark.

Only 6 more working days til Anderson and I are off for our Christmas break! Then, I'll think about going back to work, well I'll think about it, Adam will make me :(

Here is our nutcracker tree and travel tree. Our nutcracker tree has been a work in progress. My mom started it for me when I was just 12. My, it has grown... The second tree(the smaller of the two) is our travel tree, we buy an ornament from every city we go to. Boy, we have alot now!

Welcome to Christmas City

We LOVE Christmas around here! We love decorating for it, the reason for it the whole nine yards. I am my happiest at this time of year and always have been. We decorate every room for Christmas and I do mean EVERY room! Our house is not huge, but all 1,200 square foot of it is covered with these festive decorations and we have themes.

First off I put Anderson by the Christmas tree. He's been sitting up pretty well, but just as I was snapping the picture, whoosh he goes and he laughed on the way down!

I also got a picture of my two favorite boys in the whole wide world!

Ya'll please say a prayer that Adam gets a job, he is applying for jobs because he is done with law school and will take the bar in February We need all the prayers we can get!!! This is my ONE chance at being a S-A-H-M!

Anderson's Teeth

Anderson has 1 tooth on the bottom (in the front) that is all the way up and another one that has broken through the gum and is up and coming. I couldn't get a picture, he hates when I try to look at his teeth. He purses his lips so tight that his little mouth turns white.

Adam, Anderson and I might never leave town ever again! We thought Anderson's new convertible, big boy car seat would do the trick with the crying in the car. Now, we know it didn't. He doesn't cry on the way to or from Prattville each and every day. But on our way to Eastchase tonight, he began squalling until Adam tickled his feet. I wonder how long this will last. That's fine with me about never leaving town again, I love staying home in Montgomery anyway!

I am in the process of getting up Christmas. We have all of our trees up except for the dog tree and that is going up tomorrow. I will post pics with Anderson sitting (for the most part, but only for a short time period) in front of our different trees.

I am exhausted and ready to go to bed, boy, work sure takes it out of you. I'm ready to be D-O-N-E!!!

Anderson's First Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for, first and foremost, our little boy who was born early,but is now doing great, our family, our jobs, our loved ones and our faith.

We had a wonderful whirlwind of a Thanksgiving. It was spent in Dothan with our families. THis was Anderson's first Thanksgiving and boy was he tired. He had to go to three family functions and he was so tired by the third one, we quickly ate and excused ourselves to put him to bed.

We went to my daddy and Mimi's house at lunch and spent time with my two aunts and uncles and my cousins, which was fun, because we haven't seen them in a long while.

Then we went to Adam's great aunt Juke and her husband's house(they have just moved back from North Carolina-why would you ever leave such a beautiful place?) we spent time with Nanny(Adam's grandmother), his mom, and his brother and wife Kelly.

Then we headed over to my aunt Kim and uncle Joe's house for Thankgiving with the Grinsteads, and EVERYBODY was there-too many to name.

Adam had to go to work the next day, so Anderson and I(well really just me, because Anderson doesn't make those decisions yet...)decided to stay one more day and shop with my momma.

Who knew I was such a cry baby! I cried when Adam left Thanksgiving night and wanted him to come and get us, I was ok, but I didn't sleep well and neither did Anderson( he was up 4 times).

Momma, Anderson and I went to Babies R Us and bought a few things and after standing in line for 35 minutes, we went to That Store, which is a kid's clothing store and Adam's parents were there, so Anderson got some precious outfits from them-thanks Nonny and Pappy!

After that, Anderson, momma and me headed to Chick-fil-A and to momma's to rest, we were tired!

Anderson SCREAMED the whole way home from Dothan to Montgomery, it was a very enjoyable experience...let me tell ya! He HATES his car seat and we are having to start getting on to him and tell him no, because mom says he's just throwing a ...dare I say it...temper tantrum!

Just sleep my love

Anderson has been having trouble sleeping lately. He has been having trouble sleeping during his daytime naps, he used to sleep 3 hrs in the a.m. and 1-2 in the afternoon, and go to bed at 7:30p.m. He still goes to bed on time, but he wakes up alot, which he hasn't done since he was 2 months old! Lastnight, he woke up at 1a.m., 2:20, and 4:30a.m. I'm just not sure what I can do to get him to sleep again. I so need to be getting ready and packing up to go to Dothan, but I don't care, Anderson is napping(for now) and all I want him to do is sleep. What do you all think this could be?

We will be arriving in Dothan around 6:30 p.m. tonight, I can't wait to see our family! They are always so sweet and helping, but don't overstep their boundaries(well most of the time). I'm hoping to get to see some of my old friend from high school on Friday at the Mexican Connection at 11:30, so if you're reading this and didn't get the memo, you did now, so come! :)

Our Monday Morning (in pictures)

Anderson and I have had a fabulous day! I'm off for the whole entire week with my babes! We've been having some great bonding time.

It started at 3:30a.m.(yes, a.m.) when he was ready to get up. I had to pump so I put him in the jumperaroo at 4:20a.m. I think he is off of his schedule, and his teeth are bothering him soo....

Then we fell back asleep after much coaxing and a bottle of warm milk at 5:00a.m. and didn't wake again until 9:45a.m.(yes, both of us!) We promptly got up and went for a nice cool walk at 10:20a.m.

After lunch at Chick-fil-A, I figured you know what their food bags looked like and I forgot this was a day of pictures, we played on the floor and Anderson found his feet(well actually he found them a few days ago, but I just got a picture of it).

Then, at 3:00p.m., we went for yet another walk to get us out and enjoy the air. Adam came home at 4:30p.m. and we played with Daddy. At 7:30p.m. and we put him to bed in his crib. He has NEVER slept in his crib until lastnight for the first time, he has been sleeping in his pack n play in our room, now he is in his crib...still in our room. I know, I know...but they're only small once, so I don't want to hear it. ;)

Boy, it's more tiring staying at home, but you know, it's WONDERFUL and I hope it can be that way permantly soon!

So, I need a life

Adam has this saying that he says to me "blogga blogga blogga bloga blog" and it's so true! What is wrong with me? I guess being able to read everyone's thoughts and daily happenings, is well...addicting. I need to get a hobby like most of the people on here, but my hobby is the computer(how sad). I need helpful hints from the peanut gallery to help me come up with new hobby ideas, and oh, I am NOT creative, but I can try.

I believe that Anderson is cutting another tooth, haven't seen it yet, just he is VERY fussy and will not take his naps like he usually does and he keeps waking up before time and not sleeping well. How long does this last? I hate it for him, I just want my love to be a happy boy.

Gotta go, Anderson just woke up, early, it's 9:30p.m. and he doesn't eat again until 11p.m. ohhhh my sweetie pie!

7 months old today!

7th Months Old!

Our big boy is 7 months old today! It doesn't seem like you have been with us only 7 months, it feels like you were always apart of us. I can hardly remember our lives without you. We were definitely blessed by God when he gave us you raise.

This month, you have gotten your first tooth ( I would post a picture, but you won't let me see it-much) you are also "trying" to sit up(no, still not yet by himself), you just noticed Annabelle and Gus and think they are HILARIOUS! You can move your walker pretty well on the carpet and great on the floors. You are developing a little temper(like your momma) and rare back when you don't want to do something.
You are about to celebrate your first Thanksgiving and Christmas and we can't wait for you to experience it!

7 month (well almost) stats

Our big boy went to the doctor today for his 7 month check up. He will be exactly 7 months on the 22 of November. Here are his statistics: weight 17lbs, 5 oz. (50%) Did I mention YIPEEEEE!!! We've always been in the 25% for weight, our child has never liked to eat much. Height is 27 and half inches,(90%) BIG Tall boy! :)

I can't believe that he is getting SOOOO big! Thank goodness!

Next week, Anderson and I are off of work (well Anderson doesn't work, but I do) and we are going to play and put up Christmas decorations. Can't wait!!! We'll see what he does with all of the ornaments and Christmas decorations, we have a ton. Everybody in our house has a Christmas tree, I have a nutcracker tree, Adam has a Bama tree, Annabelle and Gus have a dog tree, we have a travel tree, and now I am starting Anderson on a train tree. I want to eventually buy a train that goes around his tree.

What are everyone's plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas, are you going home to where you're from or staying put-what?

Rock Around the Clock and a Santa Suit

We definately were singing the song by Bill Hayley and the Comets 'Rock Around the Clock' at 10p.m., 1 a.m., 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. not joyfully mind you. Anderson decided that he really didn't feel like sleeping lastnight. He has always slept through the night since 3 months old. He has a new toofie(as I call it) coming in. It has made him so ill and I hope that is the only reason he didn't sleep lastnight. I really forgot what it was like to not sleep at least 6 hours straight! Wow, I'm sleepy...

On a holiday note, Anderson went to see Santa yesterday (early I know, but his Santa outfit was 3-6 months) so we had to go early because it wouldn't fit later. Anderson really liked Santa, he wasn't scared, he just looked at Santa with adoring eyes. Santa was surprised that Anderson would sit with him and not scream. He was a perfect angel. The funniest thing was that Anderson's santa suit was a little snug (one too many cookies and milk-just kidding...it's hard just getting him to eat sweet peas and carrots) so his sweet little tummy showed and he had on santa capri pants rather than long ones.

We are getting ready for Christmas around here, haven't put up our decoratins yet, just thinking about it.

Purging the old and bringing in the new

I am come to realize that I have been selfish all of my life thus far. I have spent mega money on things like this...

and this..

I've paid for fake nails and pedicures every month totaling at more than $600 per year! I am selling all of my Dooney and Bourke bags(7 in all) equaling over 1,225 and putting on ebay my Chanel sunglasses of $395. Who needs it? It's just stuff! When Anderson was born, something in me changed, now don't get me wrong, I'm still going to wear black pants and animals prints daily, just cheaper ones! Who cares, it doesn't matter. That is why I am purging my old life to make new for our new. I've got so many more important things to do now besides shop.
