When the Happy Haunts Come Out to Socialize

Hello friends!

I know...you are probably thinking "those are the cheesiest costumes I've ever seen" but we had such a blast in them!! :)ImageImageWe have had such a wonderful and busy Halloween!ImageImage We headed over to our friends/neighbors fall festival and they had those bounce houses. I was a little nervous about Anderson being okay in them...but he totally was fine! In fact, he jumped for 2 hours straight!ImageImageImage
Our sweet neighbors! ImageI hope all these kiddos are always close!Image
Then, we came home to our neighborhood to trick or treat. ImageImageI have NEVER seen so many kids trick or treating before! One house even had their whole yard set up like aliens had crash landed in their yard and they had to de-contaminate the whole yard and you had to put on glow in the dark bracelets to be okay!Image So fun!! A just stared and stared at it and then wanted to go back after we left.

Anderson DID NOT like his mouskeeter hat at all!! So, we would just hold it over his head when he walked up to doors.Image He really enjoyed trick or treating and got really good at saying it. But then, he gave up and told one man..."I need candy" Ha!!!! I seriously laughed for days!

And then, we met this witch.Image Her loud witchy laugh could be heard 3 blocks! But, Anderson seemed to like her. And she even sung M-I-C....K-E-Y......M-O-U-S-E in a withcy voice!

You say goodbye and I say hello!

Hello friends!
I have no idea what that title is about...I have just always loved the Beatles and I sing that song a lot to Anderson! Ha!! Mom and Bob and their puppies left yesterday morning. ImageImageImageThis house sure is quiet with everybody gone. We just had to go to the Botanical Gardens and enjoy this cooler weather.Image
It was so cool last night, we slept with the windows open and were FREEZING when we woke up this morning.

I'm SOOO excited about tomorrow because we have church in the a.m., church Fall Festival in the afternoon, and trick or treating tomorrow night. We are going to be the mousekeeter family. Complete with shirts and everything. The only thing we are missing in one mickey mouse ears hat. I'm so bummed about that...I ordered 2 off of ebay, one came, and the other hasn't:( Oh well...Anderson probably won't keep his mickey mouse ears on anyways, so I might wear his if he doesn't. I just might try the ole' "you can't get any candy if you don't wear your costume" trick...but again this is a hard headed youngin' so probably won't phase him! Ha!

Mom, Anderson and I went to the largest Christmas store in Texas.Image It was beautiful, but too expensive. When I told the lady I had four Christmas trees complete with themes for all of them. She looked at me as if I had just told her I had 65!

Visitors

Hello friends! We have been very busy this week.Image My mom and Bob(my step dad) are here and we have been doing all sorts of things.ImageImageImage Yesterday, we went into Dallas to go to the HUGE Salvation Army and to ride the trolley. The funniest thing was that Anderson LOVED a cat house and played with that the WHOLE time that we were in the Salvation Army. And then onto the horses outside. FUN!ImageImageMom and Bob really liked it and Anderson liked it...but just for a few minutes. Then he was ready to GO! ImageOh well...that's life with a 2 and a half year old!:)

Today, we went over to our favorite tourist attraction, the zoo in Ft. Worth! ImageAwesome weather...in the 70's, but ready for much cooler weather! Love having my Momma, Bob here and Emma(the golden retriever) too!ImageHope you are having a great week! Go watch Parenthood tonight on NBC at 9:00! You will LOVE it!

Pumpkin Patch

Hello friends!

Our church has a wonderful pumpkin patch. ImageWe headed over to get a few pumpkins and take Anderson's pumpkin pictures. ImageImageWe bought a cool green one and some gourds.

Anderson loved driving the horse with the cart full of gourds and little pumpkins. In fact, he got MAD when other kids tried to get on "his horsie"!ImageThought this was one really super cool!ImageHave I mentioned that I love these two boys more than life itself? Cause, I do. They keep me in my happy place.
ImageHope you are having a happy Sunday too!

Oh Peas!!!!

Hello friends!

Anderson and I have been having some quite late days here lately. Adam is having to work a later shift and so he doesn't get home until around 7. In the next city over, Dalworington Gardens there is a lot of farmland. ImageWhich is strange because we live in the Metroplex, which is a complete urban sprawl(yay for using terms learned in my many college Geography courses:) We noticed a farm where they had a fall crop of purple hull peas. Now, I am from the deep South and LOVE field peas! So, of course, A and I stopped.Image When I walked up to the lady and asked her if she had any already picked peas(and could they just happen to be shelled too) she laughed. Anderson and I picked up our basket and away we went to the pea field. Or is it pea patch?ImageAnderson did SO good and was such a big helper to me. He would run and get the peas that Adam and I had picked and throw them into the basket.Image He did such a good job! And, there is just something about being outside and on a farm-like setting that just makes a boy's heart happy.ImageImageImage And his momma's too:)

They had a corn maze, we didn't do it. But it looked pretty cool.Image And we also got 4 onions and 4 hot peppers and 1 pound of peas for.....$2.90. Can you believe that? We even went back today to get more to put up.
Now, I dread shelling, washing and blanching of the peas. That was always the not so fun part. But what great fun it was going to pick peas!

On October 24, my Grandmother Ivey would have been 94. ImageI'm so glad that I took Anderson to see her right before she died. She held him for 2 hours and he didn't make a peep. She was in heaven holding that baby boy!

Wednesday Brain Dump

Hello friends-

Couple of random things on a Wednesday.
1. Why do all the adult women Halloween costumes have to be so tight and show so much cleavage. Really??? We all don't want to dress sleazy!!
On a related topic, I found costumes for Adam and me to wear. I have no idea who these very happy people are, just needed a picture;)ImageAnd get Anderson this costume. How hilarious would this be??Image
Or we could always go for the family mousekeeter look! Although, I have to say, I would never have worn that skirt. :(ImageI think I could use iron on letters for our shirts. Where in the world do you find iron on letters? Anyone know??!

2. The garage door was broken and had to be fixed for $237 UGH!!! When the man was here to fix the door, Anderson asked him to come sit in his stuffed animals on the floor. Awww....he thinks anybody should come play with him.

3. The Goodwill Store 50% store sell is today...I'm really trying not to go. But, I love Goodwill (aka our department store) so much that A and I will probably end up there.

4. Yesterday, Adam got to go to a motivational conference with Laura Bush, Steve Forbes, Colin Powell and Troy Aikman among others. We weren't jealous cause our weekly trip to Wal-Mart equaled out to Adam's conference....right?

5. Are you watching the show I told you about last year? NBC's Parenthood is the BEST show on television and it's never too late for you to start watching it!! I LOOOVVVEEEE this show so much. It just feels like our life! Anybody else watch this show? Come on give it a try. It's on Tuesday nights at 9p.m. on NBC.

6. And last, I borrowed this clip from Tara Roney. It's is the FUNNIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!! Click here to watch it...

Busy weekend

Hello friends!

We have had a wonderful weekend. Mimi(my stepmother) and my Daddy flew in from Alabama. ImageThey weren't here long, but we really enjoyed their stay.
Anderson got lots of Poppy time in.ImageImageWe went to the State Fair of Texas...yes again. ImageBut A enjoys it so much! ImageIt was SO HOT...86 degrees that day! Anderson got grumpy and this was the only way we could calm him down.ImageImageWe headed over to the Grapevine Mills, a HUGE mall. They have one just like it in Nashville called Opry Mills. Anderson and Poppy rode the carousel.ImageAdam and I even slipped in a date at this place
ImageIt is the coolest thing ever. You go to the movies and they have little tables set up in front of you and you order and eat in the movies.Image They have waiters coming in and out, but you never notice. It was so neat and not that expensive and very worth it. We saw the movie "Red" which was great. Loved Bruce Willis in it.
