Hello friends!
Back in June we traveled to Dothan, and Calloway Gardens and Panama City Beach. It was such a nice trip for us. Although, Anderson was thoroughly spoiled rotten when we finally got back home due to the ungodly amounts of attention he received ;) Do your kids do that too? Please tell me they do.
We went to Calloway Gardens and watched the Birds of Prey show, which was pretty awesome...especially in our kiddos eyes. Fed the turtles, ducks and fish. And even stopped by the butterfly house. My time was spent chasing Anderson, who was laughing and trying to chase down and touch ALL the butterflies he saw! We took a trip to Mr. Cason's Vegetable Garden and Anderson ran races with the grandparents. Pappy and Gami have the coolest little trailer for kids that hooks onto their bicycle, so no day was complete without a trip around the neighborhood.
We swam every afternoon after our excursions and LOVED it. We have practically turned into fish this summer. While at the pool, Adam's cousin, Emily said that she saw Kirk Cameron on the telephone. I said, "nah uh...are you serious". She was totally serious! This is Kirk Cameron! The one that was on Growing Pains, my favorite show as a kid. The Kirk Cameron that I had on a poster on my wall out of Teen Beat magazine!! First, we saw his wife at the pool and immediately, I knew it was her. She was on Growing Pains. Nanny went and asked her was she and said "yes"! Nanny then proceeded to ask her "where is Kirk"??! And she said he would be back shortly and she would tell him that a grandma from Alabama was looking for him. To make a long story shorter, Adam and his brother Anthony were at the pool swimming later that night and Kirk Cameron came up there asking them where was the grandma from Alabama! WhAT!!!!????? Well...of course Nanny and Juke were in the shower and getting their jammies on. The boys told Kirk that and he said "how about we go to her villa and surprise her"! We all walked down with Kirk to their villa and surprised her and Juke both. BOY, were they surprised! Sorry ladies, I just had to put this picture on here!!! Can you spot Anderson and his brush with fame? ;)
But the BEST part of the trip...especially for Anderson was the Wildlife Safari Tour on the bus. This kiddo is STILL talking about the beefalo(in case you don't know...it's a buffalo and a cow mixed together). He is, to this day, still staging the Wildlife Safari Tour in his room with his animals and keeps calling his buffalo, beefalos!
Be back soon with pictures from our time in Panama City Beach.
