The Helpful Bunny

I was just reading The Helpful Bunny to Bella. It's about a bunny who goes and gets a jar of honey for her friends back home, but on her way back, she meets several other friends who need her help. The frog can't croak so she uses some honey to sooth his throat; the mouse's ball has a hole in it so she uses some honey to stop the hole; the squirrel wagon lost a wheel so she uses some honey to glue it back on. By the time she gets home, she has no honey for her friends.....

Anyway, after the 2nd friend, Bella (never read the book before) says........'oh no; she won't have any honey for her friends at home if she uses it all for her friends out here.'

I know this doesn't seem like much, but it surprised me that she 'got it' as quickly as she did.

Slow starter.......

I always was a slow starter......a bit of a perfectionist. I decided to start blogging again because it was such great therapy and kept such a good record of Bella and when she did things. Now, I feel as though I've lost a year of her life.

We are doing great. Liz & I are still together, happily. I know it was touch & go there for a while before I 'left' blogland. We both work from home. She is doing her art full time. You can see her stuff here: www.miabellaart.com. This has been our only income since November. It's feast or famine, but we are happy and doing well.

I am basically a full-time mom/homemaker, part-time bookkeeper and part-time student. I love being with Bella all day every day and rarely need the break so many people seem to beg for. Probably because I wanted her for so long and that I'm old. :)

Bella is a smart little girl. She can carry a conversation as easily with an adult as with a child. She doesn't play well with kids her own age; they need to be slightly older. She does well with 6 to 8 year olds.

She dances ALL the time and just started ballet/tap lessons. So completely adorable! I am so happy for her that I want to cry everytime we go.

Her kidneys are stable for now; she sees a Neuphrologist once a year and it's time next month to go. As of last August, she was leveling off.....no changes for the good or bad.

She had to have surgery on her eyes, but has had no problems since. That was done in February.

She is starting to learn to swim. We have an 8 foot pool in the backyard that is about 2.5 feet deep and she 'dives' to the bottom over and over again while in the pool. I cherish our pooltime as we have awesome one-on-one talks while we are in there together and we go almost every evening after dinner.

I'm leaving it at that for now. I am thinking of starting a public blog and putting some adsense on it to try and make a little cash; anyone have any experience with that? I was thinking of using WordPress.

So happy to reconnect; you'll see more of me soon!

Hello? Is anyone there?

I'm back! I am determined to start blogging again and was wondering if I still have any readers.

A fond farewell......for now....

Well, I'll be surprised if there is anyone out there reading this blog any longer. It was such a big part of my life for so long, and it and any readers I had really got me through some bad spots in my life as well as rejoice with me through the good times.

My life is different and so very busy as I have gone back to work full time and school full time, but.........

...please add my to your facebook if you have one; I'd love to keep in touch with all of you.

I'll be back from time to time and more frequently when I'm back home in a couple of years.

Until then.....I say good bye and good luck.

Hope to see you over on facebook. Look for my name Stephanie Ingersoll or email [email protected].

Trouble at work.........

Here's a little tip for anyone needing to visit a hospital ER and don't want to wait.............mention possible pain in your chest or upper back area.

Tonight, I was reprimanded and probably rightly so. A patient's health was compromised by my error. Thankfully, it all ended well. Well, except for my wounded pride.......

I have been complimented so much by everyone on how well I do this job being so new; this stung a bit.

Oh well.........lesson learned.

That being said.....I have formed the following opinion: nurses can be callous, hard-hearted people. I know there are some nurses who read my blog and I'm sure you are different or perhaps understand.

I'm sure they see a lot of 'bull', for lack of a better word, but the things that are spoken and gestured behind a patient's back really annoy me!!!

I have visited ER facilities several times with Bella and now I wonder what was being said about me or my child.....
