Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil

ImageWell, we wouldn't be members of our family if we didn't act up in front of a camera...so when Tania was visiting the wonderful state of Utah (yep, that's right, Tania and Utah in one sentence), we decided to act up a little bit. Here is our rendition of the popular phrase "Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil"....enjoy. Thanks Vii for taking the picture.

Facelift in the back

Thank you to all that helped with the backyard. (that is probably not enough to say to you guys becuase it is beautiful now)It looks so great. I am so impressed with how it looks. These photos are not even what it looks like now. Just imagine greener grass and More bark in pathway with stepping stones and a border of red brick from the front yard on the rightside of the pathway and also not so many bare spots. Thank you for all the many hours of help. Now when we get home we do not know what to do with ourselves. We spent everynight working out there as a family. Nathan was not so happy all the time when we were working and not really paying attention to him. I hope he will recover.ImageImage

The Bobbsey Twin returns with someone else

So you guys thought it was so funny to see Amy and I dress alike, well we shop together sometimes so things like that can happen. But when you dress the same as your sister Lisa who lives more that 700 miles away i worry. They are just so cute. I bet they thought this photo would never show up. Watch out Tania and Shelley she will be after you guys next :) Luv ya

Welcome to our world, Cody

Image
On Tuesday, August 12th, our son Tim and his wife Lisa brought a new little child into the world. Cody Alan King was born around 7:30pm weighing in at 8 lbs and measuring 21 inches long. He has blond hair and resembles Tim as a baby. I could also see Kelly and Katie in his face as well. Here are a few photos of him and his parents.
Kelly and Katie are so excited to have a little brother join their family. And Lisa is so glad to be over the pregnancy part. When we went to visit them in the hospital, Lisa already had her make up on. She looked great.

An Afternoon in the Pool!

Image
Alan and I had the opportunity to go to Utah to not only visit the regulars up there but to also see Lisa and her children. We opted to stay in the Hampton Inn & Suites in West Jordan while we were there. Since the Inn had a pool, we invited the grand kids to come over on Monday and enjoy the pool. We had a great time. Here are a few photosImage.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

I was so surprised when I opened the bag and pulled out a gorgeous ladybug red DS; and I have all of my children to thank. I have already enjoyed playing with it, however, I am not yet too keen on the Brainage 2 game. It turns out that I have the brainage of an 80 year old. Not too flattering! Anyway, I hope in time and practice I can bring that number down. I have really enjoyed the Crosswords games. I have tried them all. I have begun leaving it in my purse, you know, for those moments when you have to entertain yourself, such as waiting for appointments. I would include a picture of it, but I do not have one yet. Anyway, thank you to all of you. You are a mother's dream come true. Love ya, Mom

Happy 4th of July and Anniversary Dad & Mom!

Image
HImageow fortunate we were to have Dad & Mom in Utah for the 4th of July. We enjoyed having them with us and truly appreciate the parents we have.
ImageHere are some of the pictures we took of our celebration...although it doesn't compare to Wilson Park's show, we improvised.
We went over to Amy & Elvin Uigaese's and did fireworks there...they're not illegal over here. Image(One good reason to move to Utah...for those who aren't here or aren't trying to be here). It was kind of windy, Imageso it was a little harder to light the wicks on them...so it probably was a little bit longer show than we anticipated.
This Independence day was both Nathan & Logan's first 4th of July celebration...and Nathan sure knows how to party (as you can see by the picture of Nathan and the firework display behind him). He did not wake up...at least he is a good sleeper (at least at this time). Logan on the other hand stayed awake the whole time.

Young Family Reunion @ the Cabin

ImageSaturday, June 7th, a few of the "Young"cousins got together at the cabin in Wrightwood. The weather was absolutely beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better setting. Carol and Dave have done a lot of work on the cabin. It can now easily and comfortably sleep 15 people, even more if they use sleeping bags and sleep on the floor.

Alan, Chris and I drove up on Saturday morning. Traffic was light and so we made it in one and a half hours. Dave barbecued chicken and everyone brought other dishes.

Following are a number of pictures of the event.

Velma Repp's 96th Birthday

Image
On Monday, June 2nd, we planned a little birthday party for my mom. I fixed some of the foods that she likes; potato salad, Lays Potato Chips, fried chicken, watermelon and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. She was so happy to have Jen, Amy, Chris and a few of the great grandchildren (Jonah, Caleb, Nathan, Logan) there. Caleb made her day. As soon as he saw her he went right up to her. He has a special place in her heart because as a very small baby, Mom spent a good deal of time holding him.

Here are a few photos of her opening her cards and gifts.

The Bobbsey Twins have Returned

Well....here's a funny story for you all to enjoy...at our expense of course. Friday night, the Uigaese's (Vii, Jen & Nathan), the Browns, (Bobby, Miriama, Toali'i, & Bobby) and the Marvive's (Rey, Amy, Jake, Jonah, Caleb & Logan) all met at an island restaurant called Moki's. We all arrived in separate cars, the Uigaese's arriving first. They saved the spot for us, then the Browns arrived second and finally the Marvive's arrive fashionably late. When I walked in, I looked for the table where everyone was sitting, and low and behold I see something I never w0uld have thought I would see...mind you, Jen and I both dressed at separate times and in separate closets. Take a look at what everyone else at our table and in the restaurant saw when they looked at Jen & I.

Diane and David Lenning

Dad and I attended Diane Anderson's sealing at the Newport Beach Temple today. I was able to be her escort. She was so beautiful. The weather had been rainy, but by the time we came out of the temple, the sun was shining.

Dad's idea's are good!!!

Image Image
Vii and I have been talking about what we can do with our yard. We discussed possibly removing the front fence like Dad had suggested in the first place. Then we kind of left that alone and continued to cork on the back yard. Then the other night we were on a walk and our nieghbors took down there fence. We didn't want to be like the "Jones" but we thought about it already and then the next day did it. Jake helped Vii take apart some of the poles. He was a great helper. Thanks Dad for the idea. Our draw backs were then people would think we wanted them to visit. Well don't get any ideas because it has not changed. :). We like it, it makes it look so open. Now we are just getting use to it. Dad you have some pretty good ideas it just takes us awhile to process it.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I hope you have a wonderful day Mother. I love you and am so grateful to have you as my mother and friend. Katelynn gave me a cute card this morning that had a dog on the outside of the card with the caption "RUFF". The inside said "That's what life would be like without a mom like you." I was deeply touched by the cute simple words. I would love to pass the same message to you today. My life is so much better because you are my mother. Love, Lisa

San Diego Trip

ImageJust wanted to share photos of our trip to San Diego, especially our accommodations. This is the first time we have been able to stay at the time share that we purchased many years ago. The weather was great and we were able to get in a lot of walking.
Image
We spent some time at the Mormon Battalion Display. Saw a movie retelling their story. Afterwards we had a chance to talk to the missionary couples who were serving there. That would be a fun place to serve.

Then we spent a good deal of time in Old Town San Diego. As you can see by the above pictures they had a flair for decorating. Even had a piano. Following are a few more pictures of our visit.

We've moved!!!

ImageImage
ImageImage

...well the address is the same, but if feels like a new house to us. The Marvive's have recently decided to put good tax dollars to work and have made a nice upgrade to our house. For those of you who have seen our house...you'll probably agree with me that it was "sterile" environment with our flooring. Who would have thought someone would have had linoleum in their living rooms/stairs and hallway. Yikes!!! You can see the before picture here too. The broom has been our friend for the last year and a half because it got sooo dirty soooo quick. So with the help of my awesome brother Tim, who helped me....(actually, he did all of it), tile the front entryway to my living room and Vii who helped me grout the tile, we now have a beautiful living room...at least we think so. Still some painting touch-ups to be done, but other than that, it should suffice for now. So here are the pictures of the rooms.
