Our Dinosaur Miracle

Tonight for FHE I was inspired to read from the January Friend page 2- the Prophet's story, "The $5 Miracle".
Today at Balboa Park, Brielle gave Reed a little rubber dinosaur. He put it in his pant's pocket earlier. It just so happens that the Prophet's story was about losing his $5 bill and getting it washed by leaving it in his pocket. We almost forgot, actually we did forget about Reed's dinosaur in the pocket, until we read this story. We were able to remember it was in Reed's pocket before we put his pants in the wash tonight. It would have been ruined if it got wet. I think it was a neat experience for our family to see this little inspiration from Heavenly Father. I like what it said in the article, "President Monson wants everyone to know that as we pray daily, we will be entitled to Heavenly Father's guidance-even in things as small as a five-dollar bill forgotten in a pair of jeans." Or at least for us, a dinosaur.

Reed has really been into pirates lately.  I kept asking what he wanted to be for Halloween and he kept saying a pirate!  And that he also wanted, "The hook and the bell!" like Captain Hook.  So, being that I always want a family theme... I went with Peter Pan and the Neverland Pirates... Introducing Reed as Hook, Ridge as Peter Pan, August as Schmee and I as Tinkerbell.  I got most our costumes like the week before Halloween, by finding pieces at Goodwill and other thrift stores and throwing it all together.  It turned out better than I expected, being last minute.  My boys are so cute! Love them- and am so glad I got to capture these pictures at the Train Park in Poway-where they were just in heaven!  We went to the Ward trunk or treat, went trick or treating in Carmel Mountain Shopping Center and passed out candy that night.  Reed was such a big helper passing out all the candy.  He's so cute.

Months...

One more month, and my baby will be ONE!!!  Here are the pictures I'm using to make his birthday banner... (even though month 12 is more like 11 1/2...I'll be taking a separate shoot for his one year pics)

Reed's Birthday Party- He turned 2!

Image Reed turned two on June 8th!  He is such a cute, fun, energetic two year old!  I love him!  We went to Az for the weekend for the Smith Family Reunion and I decided I would throw Reed a little party with some close friend's of his before we were off to Woodruff.  He is obsessed with trains (especially Thomas) at the moment and so you could only guess that he wanted a TRAIN THEME!  I had fun decorating and making things come together last minute.  The kids had a blast in the slip and slide, playing with bubbles and hitting the train piñata.  Happy Birthday Reed!
