She's Here! (That Was Unexpected!)

Well, that was fast.

At about 9 PM on Thursday, I was about to start a summer league basketball game when Bryan's phone rang. He missed the call, but told me it was Amanda. So, I called her back only to hear her say, "I think my water broke."

'

I asked her if she could wait about an hour until my game was finished. (kidding) We went straight to the hospital.

.

Amanda, eagerly waiting to find out if it indeed was her water that broke, or if she simply drank too much Dr. Pepper.

Yep, that's amnionic fluid on the floor.
Gees, Amanda.
.
No progress made over night. A contraction here and there. A few walks around the halls. Nurses waking us up periodically.
7 AM brought the first big contraction, but they were still pretty sparse.
8:30 AM commenced a series of
BIG CONTRACTIONS!
9:2o -ish AM, Cheri, our awesome midwife says, "That's it time to push!"

9:31 AM brought Little Lucy into the world.

Her chord was wrapped around her neck, so she was a little blue - needed some O2
I was proud of Amanda when Addy was born, but this time she really impressed me.
NO EPIDURAL!
I don't know why she declined, but she did. It was hard for me to see her in so much pain, but I can honestly say, this time, that I've never been so proud of her. She showed me a side of her that I had never seen before (and I don't mean her insides - gross.)

7 pounds, 7 ounces. 19.5 inches long.
I know that may seem normal, but to us it seemed so tiny.
I mean, Addy was two pounds heavier, two inches longer.

I think Addy thought she hurt her sister, since she started crying. Poor thing.

Catching Up -- Spring Time Fun!

Since my daddy can't seem to keep up with updating this blog, I'm taking it over. This is now Addy's Blog.

Now that we have that out of the way... here's what we've been up to since February.

.

I love the spring, if I remember correctly from the other two I've been alive for. The first one's a little hazy in my mind. There are so many flowers at my house, like these Walmart daffodils Daddy planted.

He's so cheap.

There's a big pretty tree in my neighbor Megan's yard. Every year it turns white and pink for one week.
.
Daddy loves everything about these flowers until...
.
...ashes, ashes they all fall down.
.
Daddy's Note:
The mess is worse this year because of the new deck. Four times so far this spring, this tree has unleashed an onslaught of some sort of natural waste on my deck. And it's not even Fall yet.
Oh well, it's worth it. That's what I got a leaf blower for.

I got a lawn mower this year to help Daddy mow the grass.

Mommy and Daddy took me bowling for the first time.

Like my shoes? I wasn't happy that I had to give them back.

This creature helped me roll the ball. And they had these plastic dinosaurs to help too.

For Easter, we went to the beach for the day.

I love pizza on the boardwalk. No more cutting it up for me.

I'm a big girl this year!

And I'm big enough to ride the swings!

I love rides, just like my daddy!

The Easter Bunny got me some bunny-ears.

Since I'm such a big girl, I don't sleep in a crib anymore.

I got my Handy Manny tools and helped Daddy change my crib into a big-girl bed.

And I went right asleep for my nappy.

I did so good!

I guess night time didn't go so smoothly.

I don't remember this, but I guess I fell out.

.

We also had a picnic at the park.

It's really pretty there in the spring.

.

Anyway, Amanda let me take a day-trip as an early birthday present. I headed down to King's Dominion, in Virginia to check out their new MONSTER roller coaster, Intimidator-305.

Pretty impressive. Over 300 feet tall. 90+mph.

.

It was so fast, even my hair got wind-blown.

Since Daddy got to go to Virginia for a day, Mommy got to go to New York for three days.

I found a place to hide at the train station.

Later, in May, it got really hot.

So I went swimming in my froggy pool.

For Daddy's birthday, Uncle J got him tickets to a Phillies game.

I can't believe he didn't take me!

Next came Mother's Day.

I really didn't want to take more pictures at first.

But, I warmed up.

I love my mommy!

In June, Mommy and Daddy left me with Grandma and stayed at a nice hotel for their 5th anniversary.

I can't believe they didn't take more pictures!

With baby sister coming soon, I had to change rooms. So Mommy and Daddy took the office (Daddy was really sad) and changed it into my Big Girl Room!

Mommy and Daddy even moved my letters!

Mommy and Daddy changed everything, like the windows, ceiling fan, paint, and rug.

I also had fun with all of my cousins on Sunday at Grandma and Pa Pa's house.

Daddy said it was hard to get us all to look at the camera at the same time.

.

Then Daddy took me to Dutch Wonderland on Monday.

I can ride the Sky Ride now!

.

And I can ride the space ships!

I couldn't figure out how the gun worked, though.

.

Daddy let me ride the horsies all by myself too.

Well, he sat on the horsey next to me, but I did it all by myself.

.
