First Hair Cut

Image

I know I know...your probably thinking I'm crazy getting her hair cut because she doesn't have much but she needed it.  She had a few long pieces in the back and her hair was getting so strangely looking so we asked Grammie to do some damage control.

Image

And boy was she ever excited for it!  She kept saying she wanted to look like "Rapunzel" except doesn't Rapunzel have really long hair and we were cutting it?

Image

She kept making silly/happy faces in the mirror at herself the whole time.

Image

She had to be reminded to keep her head straight more than a few times :)

Image

But really she did great.  After Gammie got done with the back she turned her around to look at the front and Rilyn melted onto her and said "I love you so much.  Thank you Grammie."  It melted both our hearts watching her be so excited and grateful.

Now that she's had her first hair cut, I better go hide all the scissors in the house!

Like Mother Like Daugther

Image

Gramma Corey thought it would be fun to doll Rilyn up in some Halloween attire.  After the wig and lipstick, she looked like JonBenet Ramsey.  Look at those big blue eyes!

Image

My mom and I all dressed up for a Halloween party at the Skagit River Brewery.
Three generations of Anderson Girls!

Image

My mom even went so far as to paint her finger nails.  I think I have a picture somewhere at about the same age where someone dressed me all up like this.

Tyler said I was GI Jane w/ hair.

X-man's Transformers Party

Image

The kids were invited up to X-man's birthday the other week.  He is so lucky to be born that close to Halloween.  Think of all the fun birthday parties he's going to have when he's older :)  To start off the day, the kids searched for candy and coins in the hay stacks.

Image

The little naughty witch was looking far far away from the others :)

Image

Oh boy.  More candy.  The best part was it was all the candy that mommy loves :)

Image

Then inside to play pin the sticker on Bumblebee.  Jaymin actually won and landed his sticker smack dead in the center of the circle.

Image

Good try,
 Sissy!

Image

How awesome is this cake!  Jaymin was in heaven.  I was sorta bummed I didn't get him a transformer costume but I figured Captain America was close enough.  Do they really even care at five anyways?  Thanks Lianna for thinking of us for X-man's party.  We had a blast!

Best Friends

Image

Image

Mica came over for a playdate and both fell asleep watching a movie while the mom's were visiting.  Mica told her mom the other day that she can't wait for Jaymin to come to Kindergarden next year so that she can play with him and be his best friend.  Sadly, they likely won't be at the same elementry school but that won't stop us from having play dates.  I just wonder at what age they no longer want to be friends because they are different gender :)  I hope they don't because they play so well together and are seriously best buddies.

Captain Witchy

Image

Image
Last Friday was the kids' Halloween party at school.  Both couldn't WAIT to wear their costumes.  They put them on first thing when they woke up and had them on all day long!

If you haven't already discovered it, you must check out pinterest.com.  There are some amazing fun ideas out there and what better place to keep them on specific pin boards to go back to.  We had to bring a healthy snack for the Halloween party and I found this idea on pinterest

and the kids LOVED them.  It was a huge hit.

pumpkin carvers

Image

This year Jaymin really wanted a scary pumpking and something "Angry Birds." After some internet searching for ideas and eliminating the ones that were too difficult or time consuing we picked two. A scary tree....and...

Image

....Angry birds face.  Little did I know that everyone else had the Angry birds theme going on this year.

Image

Given Rilyn is my texture girl, I thought for sure she'd be into the guts this year. And she didn't disappoint!

Image

She dug right in and helped daddy!  Although she kept saying her hands were dirty :)

Image

And soon the shirt came off.  We had a bowl for the seeds and a bowl for the guts.  Rilyn at some point grabbed a huge handful of the seeds and combined them in with the guts as she thought she was helping :)

Image

Jaymin was mommy's helper and our mission was something scary.  Rilyn and Daddy's first pumpkin took no time to cut out the Angry birds face and our pumpkin took more time and precision.  Jaymin kept asking me when it was going to be done.  Patience kid.  Patience!

Image

It's no wonder it took me longer.  I always have little helpers right below my nose or at my feet!

Image

Tyler completed the third pumpking which was Rilyn's request of a witchy.

Image

I was impressed with his skills.

Final Soccer Game

Image

October 22nd was Jaymin's last soccer game for the season.  We had some visitors for his final game.  The weather was a bit wet and cold and we (the cousins and I) didn't last long outside to watch.  In fact, we were out there for 10 minutes or less and then we went inside the car, partially to get out of the cold, but mostly to distract the younger ones w/ video.  They wanted to fun on the field and play with the other kids and their umbrellas.  Not so much :\  After five minutes of sitting in the car and steaming up the windows, I went to start it and the battery was dead!  Nice...

Image

I'm so proud of Tyler for stepping up and being coach.  I know I might be a bit biased but he really was great with the kids and keeping them entertained in control.  All the parents thanked him for coaching and were complimenting him on how well he did.

Image

Can you tell they love him?

Image

We started the season with seven and ended with four.  It was a pretty small league this year so I'm thinking we'll looking into Lil Kickers next time.  Jaymin actually really stepped up his game and particpation towards the end of the season and probably averaged 1-2 goals a game.

We are taking November off for activities after which we'll look at getting both into swim lessons next.  In the alternative, now that Rilyn will be three this month, I'm considering a gymnastics class for her as well.  She's very athletic and seems to have a lot of energy to burn :)
