A visit to the park

A couple of weeks ago we had some time to kill between music class and a craft meetup with our playgroup. We decided to hang out at one of our local parks called Wilson Park. It has this really neat little pond with a bridge and small castle designed around the water. Asa loves it there and couldn't get enough of throwing grass and rocks into the water and trying to catch the minnows with a stick.

To dye for

Asa had a fantastic time dying the Easter eggs. He loved dropping the dye in the water and water colors appear. He attempted to use the egg holder to put the eggs in the dye, but decided it was more fun to it to put dye on the table. :)

Olympics and Eggs

Saturday before Easter was jammed packed with fun activities and the weather was perfect for such a day. We started out early and headed to Fayetteville High School where the Northwest Arkansas Special Olympics were having their regional competition. We quickly watched (Asa's attention span was quite short that day) a bit of the weightlifting competition. A local church was hosting a mini carnival for the kids at the Special Olympics event, which Asa thought was great fun, especially with the prizes he got. Then we headed over to Chick fil A for some Easter fun. The Easter Bunny was there to meet the kids, but Asa wasn't interested in him. They also had the Chick fil A Cow dressed up in a Peeps dress. Asa was more friendly towards her, but still not really interested. There was a little craft for the kids to do - create your own bunny or chick with a plastic egg and foam stick ons - this was fun! And of course free candy for all. We hung out there for awhile, then headed over to Gulley Park for an Easter Egg hunt and cookout. It was hosted by the same church Asa goes to Mommy's Morning Out. This was a lot of fun! Asa had a blast 'hunting' for eggs!Image

The fur has settled

Image
After a month without a pooch around and a couple of wrong turns on our search for the next Baghurst fur baby, we are excited to announce the newest member of the family. His name is Hershey. He's a 6 month old Cocker Spaniel and FULL of energy! We adopted him from a family that did not have the time (they have a 3 month old baby) to give him the attention he needs. We've had him for a week now and he has settled in quite well. He and Asa play pretty much non stop, with a few minor bumps and scratches along the way. He is super obedient and already house broken - HOORAY! He's learning new tricks like sit, stay, shake and lie down. We've also discovered that he is quite the snorer and loves squishy pillows!

ImageHe goes well with our furniture color scheme, don't you think ;)

Bed Head

Asa's had some pretty crazy bed hair before. But I just loved that one side looked normal and the other side looked pretty crazy. The 3rd picture is the best view!
