IcE BlOcKiNg !!
CHRISTMAS !!
Robert and Brandon making CoOkIEs for the GiRLs!!
Robert and his buddy Brandon started this tradition last Christmas when they had decided to make chocolate chip cookies for all of their "girl" friends. This year I had asked if they wanted to make these real cute journals for the girls and they of course said 'no way'. They were going to continue the tradition of making cookies. I want to say that they took cookies to 18 or 20 girls. I don't think these girls realize how lucky they are.

Last Game in Dallas Stadium
The cute couple...freezing to death!!
Most of you know that we are HUGE Cowboys fans. I know most of our friends don't like them. To be honest...almost all of our friends. That doesn't change the way we feel. We love them. We have for over 30 years. Bob has a friend that he works with at the Guard that has season tickets. I guess they did a little exchange about 2 months ago, he got 2 buddy passes to go to the game in Pittsburg and we got the tickets for this game. It worked out perfectly, because this game was on Saturday. Bob know's I would never go to a game on Sunday, even to see the Cowboys play.
You know that I love Bob...but he has never been a good gift giver. He knows it is my #1 language of love and he still isn't a very good gift giver. He normally is going shopping the night before Christmas or my birthday to get something that he knows that I will like but he puts no time or effort into it. I still love him!! OK...Friday the 19th seemed to start off just like every morning. We were all getting ready for school. It was going to be a very busy day. It was the last day of school before Christmas break. We had parties to attend. I was in charge of the Christmas angel tree at school this year and the families were coming to pick up their gifts. I was picking up sub sandwiches for both the girls classes. I had to get the cards and gifts to the school for the ladies I work with and for the teachers. Needless to say, I DID NOT have time for a SURPRISE trip to Dallas. I know at first I was not being very nice. Rachel made sure I knew that. She kept telling me that I was not even excited. As you can tell...I didn't have time for this.
I had 1 hour to...finish getting ready, take the gifts to the girls at work, pack for 3 days, and try to be excited. I truely was excited about going to the game and getting to spend 3 days with just Bob. I just have a really hard time leaving my kids. I don't know why. All of my friends think I'm crazy. I think it has to do alot with the life we had in the Military. We never did anything without our kids.
We left for the airport alittle late, but that didn't matter because all the flights to Dallas were FULL and we were flying STAND BY. We tried to get on the eleven something flight, but no luck. We were able to sneak on the 1:30 flight. We had to fly thru Albequerque. We were there for 7 hours before we were able to get on a flight into Dallas. I was able to read most of 'The Christmas Sweater' by Glenn Beck. Very good book!! The next day (Saturday, the 20th) we got up, went to eat at one of our favorite places, The Olive Garden, went back to the Hotel and just vegged. Bob fell asleep and that was the perfect opportunity for me to finish my book.
We got to the Stadium about an hour before game time. That gave us the chance to just take it all in. We were able to see the team warm up a little bit. Then the game, if thats what you want to call it, started. WE couldn't do anything right. We blame the weather. Did I mention that it was supposed to be 60 degrees at kick off and they lied. It was maybe 40 degrees and we were freezing!! We brought clothes for 60 degrees. We had to go buy a blanket and beenies to wear. It was so cold!! It was 31 degrees when we got back to our car, that we had to walk a mile to get to.
Ok...so the game wasn't that great, BUT the 'After Party' was unbelieveable!! They had over 100 players there who had played for the Cowboys over the years. Like...Roger Staubach, 'Too Tall' Jones, Emmitt Smith, Micheal Irvin, Tony Dorsett, Leon Lett, Larry Allen, Charles Hailey, Chad Hennings, Jay Novecheck (totally miss spelled his name and he's one of my favorites) I could go on and on and on. The only ones that weren't there that I really wanted to see were Danny White, Troy Aikman, and Darryl Johnston. It didn't matter, it was so amazing. I know I've already said that, but I even had tears a few times. :) We had the time of our lives and I can promise we will NEVER forget it.
