Summer Time!

Wow! Where has the summer gone!!! I looked at the month of June and we were gone more than half the month!!! We had a great time traveling around the state and enjoying some much needed family time! Our first trip was with our great friends the Austins and the Worrells. We took a long weekend and headed to San Antonio. We enjoyed Seaworld, the Riverwalk, and some good Mexican food! All three families had a great time together and we are already planning our next trip, so look out Texas Hill country you will be invaded in the fall!!

Remember the Alamo!!

There was this unbelievable tree at the Alamo. So we had to take our picture in front of it!! I realized that I did not get any pictures of Dan and Gretchen until I saw this tree picture...that is the back of Dan's head.

Our next trip was to Port Aransas with the Barron side of the family! Mandy and Douglas were not able to come this trip. We really missed them and the girls but can't wait until the next Barron vacation. My mother-in-law spoiled everyone this trip. It was her idea so she worked all year and paid for the whole thing. The guys were treated to fishing and golf while the girls got nice massages!! Not to mention some great beach time, trip to the Aquarium, shopping, game time, and yummy food!!I tried to get some great beach photos of the kids all together, but Colt was not cooperating. Ugh! Life with a toddler!

Don't let this sweet face fool you! :)

This is the only picture that I could get with the 3 of them. Once Colt sees stairs he takes off! It is hard to catch that boy now!

ImageThis Nathan Jr., er, I mean, Jake! This picture made me do a double take when I saw it. I really am just a host home for 9 months!

ImageBaylie is into striking a pose and she does it well!! She is really growing up fast! She is also teaching her brothers how to model as well!!

After Port A, that's what all the regulars call it, we headed home for a few days for VBS!! We had a great time at Vacation Bible School. I got off easy this year since Colt got kicked out of the nursery the first few days. Ugh, again! I guess he got use to being with mommy 24/7. I was able to help out in pre-school craft and snack and then the last day Colt made it in the nursery, so I was able to go back to Rec!! Baylie had awesome teachers again this year. Mrs. Stacy has been Baylie's VBS teacher every year and Mrs. Dana who was Colt's MDO teacher! Baylie learned so much. Jake was able to do a mini VBS, so he learned all the songs and did some amazing crafts. The last night we had family night and the kids got to sing a song on stage. My kids LOVED IT! It was a great week!
So, we were home 4 days and then the kids and I sent Nathan off to Israel for almost two weeks! He had a great time. I am so excited he got to experience the trip of a lifetime. I need to have him blog about his trip. I could upload some of his pictures but I could not tell what they are.
While Nathan was in Israel the kids and I headed to the DFW area for time with the grandparents!!! We put Baylie and Jake in a soccer camp the first week. They both did really well. It was a British soccer camp so the instructors were from England and Ireland. They were amazing with the kids!! The best thing is they loved Texas, especially Billy Bobs!
ImageIt was hard for me to get a action shot of Baylie. 1. They were farther away and 2. She was the shortest one so all the other kids blocked. So, here she is enjoying her Gatorade!

ImageJake was the soccer pro! He loved his class. They incorporated stories and the kids had to do soccer skills to help act out the story. It was great!

ImageColt wanted to get in on the action so during a break one of Baylie's instructors, Louie, took him and helped him kick the ball. I think is lesson worked!!

ImageImageAlso, during our trip we went to the baseball game with Nana and Grandaddy. Watched fireworks with Nonnie and Papa, went bowling, and swam! It was a rainy week but it was also a fun week. I got to spend some time with my Mimi and get some wedding stuff done for Jeff and Nicci wedding in September! All in all it was a GREAT time!!ImageImageImageImage

Love Letters

Love letters. Two words but they mean so much. For someone to put into words and write out how much they love you is a powerful thing. During our courtship love letters (or emails) were the way Nathan and I could communicate freely what our hearts were feeling without stumbling over our words. I feel that the ones you love should hear how much you love them, but today as I realized that I needed to write my children and let them know, in print, just how much they mean to me.

Dearest Baylie,

Your smile melts my heart! From the first time I held you in my arms I felt what true love is. Who knew that within a second I could love someone so much. You have changed my life and I am so grateful. I always wanted to be a mommy and God not only gave me my heart's desire but He gave me the perfect child for me. I love your outgoing personality! You can light up a room with your laugh that comes from your toes. You make everyone feel important, and I love that about you! Your compassion and love for others just amazes me. At six, you can comfort not only your brothers but anyone else no matter their age. Even when we have had a rough day, and I am the one that is holding you, you always reach out to me rubbing my back telling me we are going to love each other no matter what. Your right baby girl. You will always be my baby! I know that we are going to have our struggles as life happens, every mother and daughter does. Know that I will ALWAYS be loving you, thanking God for you, and praying that He is the center of your life. I am so proud of who you are, and I can't wait to see what you will become. I know that whatever you do it is going to be amazing. Your determination and drive astounds me, you NEVER give up! Keep letting your light shine for Him, princess; because through Him you are going to do great things!! I love you, I love you, I love you!
Love,
Your Blessed Mommy

Dear Jake,
My sweet but serious one. I love you so much!! You are truly Momma's boy. The day you were born was such an amazing day. I was able to feel my love grow to include you in an instant. I love how you seek out any moment to snuggle with dad and me. Your hugs are amazing; and your sweet grin lights up any room. Although, you are my serious and very focused one; you are so funny! When I need some laughter in my day you are there with a silly dance, a quick witted remark, or a important word that just comes out the wrong way. You have taught me that kind words can get you far. You make me smile when I see you around your friends. They all love you and want to surround themselves with you. You don't even notice how much you are loved. You remind me of your dad, you don't know how much you mean to everyone around you. You hate to do wrong, and you always sincerely apologize if you feel that you did something wrong or disappointed us, even when you didn't. You LOVE your brother and sister! The care you show to them amazes me. You are so loyal and protective. These traits will get you far. You are a friend for life and you will do anything for anyone. I pray that you continue being the quiet leader and show others His love. God is going to do great things in your life, son, and I pray I will be able to witness it all. Keep Him first and you will succeed. I love you sweet boy and I am so thankful that I am your mommy. God truly blessed me when he gave me sweet you!

Love always and forever,
Mommy.

Mr. Colt,
From the first day you entered our lives you have been a big ray of sunshine! My little whirlwind. You want to be big like your brother and sister, yet you let me baby you. You are the SWEETEST thing in the world. My little cuddler. You love on everyone you come in contact with and win them over in an instant. I have a feeling that you will have your own fan club when you get older and I will be the President! You exude joy! Although I have only had you for over a year it feels like you have been with us forever. It is hard for me to remember not having you in our family. You are such and important part and have made us complete. Your personality has really come through in the past few months and it is so fun to see you shine. You are definitely not one that fades into the background. You are so easy to love. I love your sweet scrunched up smile, your chubby little legs, your big brown eyes. I love all of you, Colt Hudson. Thank you for coming into my life and making me one blessed mommy. I pray that God will show me how to be the best mommy for you, Baylie, and Jake. You truly are my little joys and I love you so much! I love you my sweet sweet baby boy!
Love Forever and ever,
Mommy

Slacker

I take pictures of my kids, I plan fun birthday parties, we have fun at our house, and enjoy different outings, I PROMISE! It is just I am a SLACKER! I don't take the time to sit down and upload my pictures. When I do upload them I don't print them out. Even if I am having a very productive day and get them printed out I NEVER put them in a albumn. This drives my husband CRAZY!!! So, once my slacker self sits down and uploads pictures I will be sure to fill you in on the many things that have gone on in the Barron house. Just to name a few to give you a tease...:)

-Baylie started and finished her first season of soccer
-We celebrated Baylie's 6 birthday and Colt's 1st!
-Jake has been cute and stubborn

I guess I need to flip through all my pictures on my camera to remember what has happened. Until then enjoy my lacking blog!

Looking for a Superhero

Friends and Family,

Cancer sucks!!! Plain and simple. It is not biased on who it affects. You can be young, old, male, female, any color. Cancer attacks the body with a vengence. I have cried many tears over the past year watching perfectly healthy people be crippled by this disease. As I write you right now a friend, Leah, is in her final hours here on Earth. Although, I have cried and prayed I have not done anything proactive to help find a cure, until now.

My awesome friend, Carol, is running for Woman of the Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Carol has created a blog that explains how this cancer has deeply affected her life and it gives you a link to donate. Here is the blog http://www.superheroesforacure.blogspot.com/. You NEED to check it out!! This is not a contest to bring glory to her, but a way to raise money to help others. Carol is someone my family greatly admires and loves. Carol is one of my sorority sisters, and the first time I met her she made an everlasting impression on me. She is not one that just cries and prays, she gets up and looks for ways to help. She has a fire within her that burns to help others. Carol has been personally affected by blood cancer; to help find a cure has become her passion. If YOU stop for just a moment I know that you can think of at least one person that has struggled with this type of cancer.

One of my cousins, Molly, who is just 15, fought this battle against lymphoma this year. On March 24th she got the results that there was no lymphoma found!! It was heartbreaking for her family to watch her endure miserable rounds of chemo, but we consider ourselves blessed to know that she is still here. Although, she has a long road ahead, she is a cancer SURVIVOR!!

So will you be a Superhero? Don't feel like if you can't give a lot then you shouldn't give. $10 can do so much! All you have to do is skip getting fast food for ONE day, and you have helped fund research to end this misery. So please, go to the blog, click on the donate button, and let's begin to be proactive!!

Blessings to each and everyone of you!

Love,
Stacie

******I sent this email out Tuesday night and Leah lost her battle with breast cancer at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday morning. She was just 31 years old. She leaves behind her husband, Neal and 4 kids ages 4-9. Please keep them in your prayers. Here is my original post about Leah just 15 months ago. http://barronbunch.blogspot.com/2009/01/hope-now.html*******

Deals!

As I posted before I am a bargain shopper. I wanted to share a few deals with you especially those of you who are expecting a new bundle of joy to join your family soon.

Great Baby Shower Gift! I ordered myself an Utter Cover when I was about to have Colt. It was a true life saver! There were many times that I needed it. I am not a very comfortable public nurser so this came in handy when I had to nurse in my car, at church in the nursing room, and yes once in the back corner of the shopping mall. I received this email from Utter Covers. If you’re not currently nursing, you probably know someone who is or shortly will be! They make great baby shower gifts! We are running a promotion where you can get any of our 3 piece gift sets (regular price $46) for only $5 + S&H.The code is "thanks".
Go to
www.uddercovers.com , click on "Shop Now", scroll down to the gift sets, select the one you would like and you will automatically be repositioned to the center of the page where you can enter in the promo code! Type in thanks and it will bring your product total to $5! We are not sure how long this promotion can last. You can use the code more than once - you just have to open a new browser/window to do so.
This promotion gives you 1 giftset for $5 + S&H! This promotion code is valid once per transaction, so you can order as many times as you would like!

I just ordered one for a gift and with the shipping and handling the total was $14.95. I think it is a great deal especially with the washable nursing pads! A few of the sets are on back order until February 1st, but they are worth the wait!

Another deal is Target. In Janurary and July they have their Baby Clearance. Last year I got a high chair for $8!! I also got a Boppy Body pillow for $12! Along with the Baby Clearance they have a toy clearance as well. I stock up on toys and keep them in my gift closet (which is the top of Colt's closet right now.) If I see any other awesome deals I will make sure to share. Happy shopping!! (Kamara this post is especially for you!)
