Trying to pull a page out of Grandma B.’s book tonight. I finally got around to reading my Dec/Jan Mother Earth News magazine, and a great article titled “Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day”. So, I tried it. Mixed up the dough Sunday afternoon and stashed in the fridge. That’s the five minutes part–you can keep the dough in teh fridge for up to two weeks (it gets more and more sour-doughy as it hangs in the fridge).
Tonight was the pilot project: forming and baking my first ever made from scratch loaf of bread. The crusty on the outside, moist on the inside kind. Or so I hope. It’s cooling on the counter right now. I’ll let you know how the taste test goes…
