Ashlee requested french toast for her breakfast in bed, except she was dressed and coming upstairs by the time I was coming down with her breakfast. I gave her the option of getting back in bed or coming up to the counter and she chose the counter. I'll have to get up earlier next year!
She told me she thought her friends might be planning to decorate her locker for her birthday since they kept asking her questions hinting towards that. I went to the school after she left on the bus and yep....they did. Such good friends!
I forgot to ask what kind of cake she wanted before she left for school. I had a lemon cake mix in the pantry and not alot of time to do anything else so that's what she got. A lemon cake with pink lemonade frosting. She had ballet after school (and I had to work that evening) so I got a quick shot of her and the cake and then Grandma Barton came over after work for cake and ice cream and presents.
A new cozy fleece blanket from Grandma.
On the Saturday after her birthday, she had her friend party. I picked up her friends then picked Ashlee up from ballet rehearsal and we headed to Temptation Cupcakes. We arrived just in time to get the last of the cupcakes. I felt bad for the people walking in after us since they were sold out but SO happy we got there when we did. We went back to our house and the girls played Just Dance and some board games. Sweet and simple.
Happy Birthday, Ashlee! I am so proud of the beautiful, talented young woman you have become!
