We actually get a very very, small amount of snow like once a year here in So Cal, and the day we did get snow we had several inches. The girls had so much fun. They don't really remember living in NY and all the snow we had there, so its really fun for them. I even picked up Ciella early from school so she could play in it before it melted!
Olive turned 1!! This girls is so fun! She had a blast opening her presents. I swear I took a ton of pictures and she isn't looking at me in any of them! Thanks Olive.
I love this picture because it shows her unbelievable lashes!! Thank you Garrett for that!!
Here's a few things I want to remember about Olive at age 1:She walked at 9.5months. She was so excited to walk I'm surprised it took her 9 months! She would stand up and pretty much throw herself forward and run until she fell, get up and try again! Thankfully at about 9 months she got it down!
She is a total Mama's girl and cry's if I'm out of her site after a few minutes. This is sweet and super annoying at the same time. I feel trapped and stuck to her at all times! She seems to be growing out of it though VERY VERY slowly. She is a kid who loves to cuddle so it melts my heart every time she just holds me around my neck! She definitely loves Garrett, but still usually wants her mom. Recently has been partial to her Grandpa's. Garrett's dad is pretty much wrapped around Olives finger and showers her with attention and plays with her outside any chance he gets! So that might be why she loves her Gpa.
She is such a picky eater, she eats chicken noodle soup, banana's, gold fish, string cheese, milk and yogurt. That's about it. She's about in the 8th percentile for weight for her age. She is slowly growing!
She says Mama, Dada, doggie, Zadie (our dog) outside and Hi (sometimes). She loves to play with Ciella and Cadence but they usually lock her out of where ever they are playing. Her favorite place to be is outside.
She sleeps through the night and takes two, 2 hour naps each day! She has the funnest teeth ever. Her teeth seem to be growing in very narrow, so it looks like she already will have need for braces. She hates the car and getting into her car seat, I cannot wait for the day I get to turn her car seat forward. If she ever reaches 20 lbs. She is so happy when she isn't crying! She has been a pretty tough baby. She has always been a crier and has really helped me learn some patience. When she isn't crying however she is happy as can be, smiling, talking and playing!! She loves to sit on my lap and just talk and smile and pretend wrestle. She has 8 teeth. She loves to try and color like her sisters and loves to pound on the piano!
Garret and I celebrated our 8th anniversary on feb 5th. I made him this cute sign. He really likes this band and I thought the quote was perfect. My sister has a vinyl business and helped me with the stickers. I just spray painted a piece of wood and put the vinyl on! Super easy and super cute! Thanks Becca! We plan to hang it on the wall one day...
Miss Ciella is almost 7! Seriously the time has gone by way to fast! I was just remembering this picture of her from when she was 1 and had just had eye surgery!
so sad!
Here is Olive in the same shirt (which I love) almost 7 years later!
Ciella is just about to graduate from 1st grade. She loves playing outside, playing the piano (which she is fantastic at!!!), playing with Cadence, drawing, building forts, daddy daughter time with Garrett, riding her bike/scooter, brownies, swimming, and anything else you can do outside!
She still seems like such a shy kid, doesn't really get super involved during school. The other day I was chatting with her teacher about something Ciella had done really good on and instead of letting her teacher see her smile, she buried her face in my lap. I know she doesn't do this all the time, but I wish she had more confidence. Hopefully she grows out of this. She totally gets this from Garrett!! She is naturally unbelievably good at the piano and can memorize just about any song. Although practicing the piano is the last thing she wants to do!
Miss Cadence is just about to turn 5 and will start kindergartner this coming school year. She really likes the preschool she is in now and is already worried that she can't keep the same teacher for next year. She loves all thing related to dressing up, makeup is by far the thing she LOVE's the most. She changes her outfits about 30 times a day. Is constantly found wearing lip gloss or some jewelery of mine. She loves our dog Zadie and pretty much carries her around all day, thankfully our dog is barely 6 lbs! Ciella is by far her favorite person to play with and can't wait to pick her up from school. She also loves to play outside and spend all day out on the Trampoline! She loves to help out with Olive (get her out of her crib, get her a drink, get a diaper...) but doesn't really want to play with her. She comes up with the most hysterical things sometimes. This morning on the way to school she asked if a person we saw was, "fat or straight". Not fat or skinny... fat or "straight". She meant skinny. Its fun to hear her use words like "actually" and correct me on somethig she thinks she's right about.
This kid has quite a stubborn personality and fights to get what she wants. She is also a kid who loves to snuggle and looks forward to when Garrett gets home from work.
We had a really fun Easter. We went to several Easter Egg Hunts and all the girls had way to much candy! I loved this picture of Olive at an egg hunt. She incredibly Bo-legged!
My Mother in law made these ADORABLE skirts for the girls for Easter. They are so cute!!
Here they are all ready for Easter Sunday!
Garrett is as busy as ever. He works full time at an Architecture Firm by day and still teaches at a local private collage by night. So he is home just 4 nights a week. This is pretty good compared with last semester he was gone 4 nights a week. Currently he is having to take a 12 week class with his firm EVERY SATURDAY for 8 hours! So we see him less then you might think! He likes the architecture job the most and just does the teaching to make some extra $$. He tries hard to give each of the girls his attention when he is home and they really look forward to it! A few months ago he and his mother took the older girls to see the Nutcracker. He does a few random side jobs too, room addition plans and stuff like that for people outside of the firm he works for. Currently his extra time is going into our own house remodel plans. YAY. Hopefully our remodel will be well underway by summer! Then our house will be just the right size for our family!
I have been doing the regular mom stuff, cooking, cleaning and parenting, driving to and from school, homework. I have tried to keep my dessert business going and have at least a few small dessert-catering jobs a month. Here are a few pictures just for fun! Keep in mind, these are just random pictures I had taken or someone sent me via text!
I loved these Cactus cookies!
Owl -coconut cream filled- cupcakes I did for an owl themed baby shower!
So cute and tasted so good!
Mini apple pies!
I was lucky enough to take a fun cake decorating class at
My Sweet and Saucy by Melody from this cool business:
This is me and Ciella and Cade on Christmas Eve I think. These pretty faces keep me busy.
Its a company our friends started a few years ago that has really taken off. I LOVE their frames and hope to fill my house with them! I work from home a few hours a day answering emails, processing orders, answering questions on Facebook and the such. It can keep me pretty busy some days but I really like doing it. I feel lucky that I can do it from home.
I also joined a Boot Camp class and I am finally trying to get my pre-baby body back! It is killer and I have been so sore, but I really look forward to it each day! Hopefully soon I'll look and feel better. I have committed to going 5 days a week so my day starts much later now that I spend 1.5 hours doing that every morning. Although it really is quite hard, I would recommend it to anyone!!!
