Your Website Health Score measures the technical foundation of your SEO efforts. Specifically, it’s the percentage of internal URLs on your site that don’t have errors, as measured by Ahrefs (our SEO software). This score reflects your on-page SEO optimization—the practice of optimizing individual web pages to improve search engine rankings and earn organic traffic. A higher health score means fewer technical issues that could prevent search engines from properly crawling and indexing your site.
Domain Rating (DR) evaluates the strength and authority of your website based on the quantity and quality of external backlinks pointing to your site. It runs on a scale from zero to one hundred. The higher your website’s Domain Rating, the stronger and more authoritative search engines consider your site to be. This increased authority can positively impact your overall search rankings across all pages on your domain.
Impressions represent the number of times your website’s links are displayed on Google search results pages. This metric serves as an excellent Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for measuring the impact of SEO changes over time, as it directly indicates how relevant Google considers your services for specific search terms. We want to see impressions increasing over time (or at least remaining constant if search volumes have reached saturation), as this shows your site is becoming more visible for relevant searches.
While impressions show how often your links appear in search results, Clicks measure the number of actual users who click on those links to visit your website. This metric represents your organic traffic from search engines and typically improves as a result of improvements in impressions and average position on Google. Our goal is to see the number of daily clicks increase consistently over time, indicating that more potential customers are finding and choosing to visit your site.
Average Position tracks where your website ranks on average across all search terms over a specific time period. As we implement SEO improvements, we use this metric to measure the effectiveness of our strategies. Ideally, we want to see your average position decrease over time—which means you’re ranking higher and higher on the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP). For example, moving from position 15 to position 5 represents a significant improvement in visibility.
A Search Query (also called a “query”) is the actual term or phrase people type into Google when searching. These queries can either contain your target keywords along with other words, or be an exact match of a keyword relevant to your site. The frequency at which people search for these queries determines the monthly search volume, which indicates the “strength” or popularity of a keyword. Understanding search queries helps us optimize your content for the terms your potential customers are actually using.
We take a holistic approach, looking at content, backlinks, keywords and technical SEO in order to formulate the long-term SEO strategy from there. We create unique strategies and content plans for every client. Each industry has its own keyword volumes, search intent and content that resonates. We do in-depth research to ensure quality and relevance of our content (i.e., we visit your company, make notes and build out a content plan based on SEO research but with a brand voice that speaks to your customers). We also use world-class SEO tools, with reporting that is as accurate as possible.
These metrics create a comprehensive picture of your SEO performance:
Typically, improvements flow in this order: technical fixes and authority building lead to better rankings (average position), which increase visibility (impressions), which ultimately drive more traffic (clicks) to your website.
SEO is a long-term strategy, and different metrics improve at different rates:
We provide regular reporting on all these metrics so you can track your progress and understand how our optimization efforts are paying off.
We quote additional accounts on an ad-hoc basis depending on your needs and requirements.
If your website has more pages than included in our initial package, we will provide a custom quote that will assist in getting us to our SEO goals.
SEO is a long-term investment that requires continuous monitoring and optimization. We do not create short-term content or optimizations outside the scope of our packages.
Some other SEO agencies tend to dump data and make promises that are not realistic. Our SEO packages are structured in a way where we write content, have meetings, share reports and collaborate on content plans. We are transparent and realistic about where aim to go and we walk with you every step of the way, navigating Google updates, setbacks, changes and business needs.
